The Edgewater Resort & Spa
"Only thing lacking, is trying to find parking. Other than that, everything was excellent"
Muri Lagoon View Bungalows - Hillside Bungalow
"The room was great, but it was a bit hard to find."
Moana Sands Villas & Apartments
"The view from our upstairs apartment room 506 was insane! The rooms were very large and well appointed. Snorkelling was amazing right out the front. Walking distance to Vaima's restaurant which is one of the best on the island. Handy having Wigmore's Supermarket across the road. Only downside was the noise and light at night. It is such a busy hub till late being the only 24/7 supermarket, so a lot of road noise, the rehab party bus stopping outside at night and dogs hanging around and barking. You could hear roosters but they were nothing in comparison to the rest of the noise. The curtains were very see through at night, so we had to get extra blankets to hang up etc to try to make the rooms dark enough at night. The front door is glass so light streamed in from the big outdoor lights so we had to put a mattress up against it to block the light and a bit of the noise as well. All in all, it is a great place with great facilities, amazing beach and views, very lovely staff but if you are a light sleeper then you may struggle."
Club Raro Resort- Adults Only
"Whilst it's handy close to town, it's more suited to younger people or those who just want to drink all day in the pool"
Muri Beach Club Hotel
"Everything was great, very good, I'll definitely go again next time. Thank you very much."
Nautilus Resort
"Arriving in Rarotonga from Tahiti on a small plane for a quick stopover nighter before heading back home to Oz Brisbane we were delighted to have one night at Nautilus resort. I only wish had longer as it was so relaxing and felt like paradise. The cocktails and our dinner was outstanding and its pure oxygen as to being on the beach."
Crown Beach Resort & Spa
"This resort fitted my purpose well. Love this adults only resort and location just right on the beach. Each villa is stand alone with your own entrance & patio area which is what I like. You are not attached with other rooms or share space. Facilities inside the room just same as the pictures. Good value & room price, includes breakfast. Overall, a clean & tidy complex, friendly staff, good size swimming pool. I definitely will choose Crown beach resort again."
Moana Sands Lagoon Resort
"The room is just normal, just enable to live. But the breakfast is extremely simple and not delicious. Some people was burning stuff all the time next to beach and very bad smell all over. Equipment was like from last century and worn out. We were kept waiting for 2 hrs when checking-in, not any good service was offered. The reception also has very rude disrespectful attitude when checking out, I will never come to this resort anymore and waste money on this rubbish resort, too much unworthy compared to the other 2 resorts. You can definitely find better places with much less cost."
The Islander Hotel
"This place was way better than we expected. It was so close which felt so easy at midnight. Friendly staff and quick to get in. We loved the design and feel of the room. Great breakfast with amazing lattes."

Muri Shores
"Absolutely the best place to stay. Walking onto the deck after we arrived was like walking into paradise. These villas are steps from the water with a fabulous view and a lovely quiet location but not far from plenty of places to eat and drink. The Villa is very comfortable with air con and kitchenette with all the utensils you could need. Milk, water and fresh fruit was provided and we were very sad when it came time to leave."
Te Manava Luxury Villas & Spa
"We had a wonderful visit to Rarotonga and the Te Manava Villa was the perfect base for the visit. Located on the SE side of the island near Muri Beach. The 2 bed Villa was excellent; private pool, direct access to the beach and lagoon, sufficiently well appointed to self cater, plus provision of bikes, snorkelling equipment and canoes - brilliant. A special call out to Anna and the team who looked after us and made us feel very welcome! The location was excellent; small supermarket, Vietnamese restaurant (Saigon Shack) and excellent cafe (Coffee Crepe Station) across the road. A little further north to Nautilus and Pacific resorts for upmarket meals and drinks and the Muri night market. The island bus providing relatively easy access to the larger supermarket, other beaches and Avarua. Diving was excellent and the team at PacificDivers were fantastic! (located further north but walkable from the Villa)"
Manuia Beach Resort
"We were staying at a different resort but came to OTB for happy hour and dinner. Great quality food, good entertainment, great views and super professional and good customer service! Well worth a visit to restaurant even if you’re not staying at the resort. PS great beach views from restaurant!"
Avana Waterfront Apartments
"Be careful when booking of you need to cancel .. they take your money straight away but if the currency rate changes you will be out of pocket even though they state no cancellation fee Be aware when booking "
Reflections on Rarotonga
"The villa, although not new, is well-maintained and equipped with everything necessary. The owner is accommodating and responsive. We checked in on December 30th and discovered the air conditioning in one bedroom wasn't working. We called the contact number, and they arranged for it to be repaired on December 31st! Special thanks. We asked for masks and fins, and they arrived within an hour. We asked for an extra hour, and they agreed without complaining, even though the cleaners arrived on time and waited for us to vacate the villa. FYI: The villa consists of two identical two-story villas, each with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, and everything else. These villas are not connected, but if you have a large group or family, it's easy to access each other via the beach or through the front doors. Disadvantages: The swimming pools at both villas are not on the seaside, but in the courtyard. The sliding doors to the first-floor bedroom are already outdated and in need of replacement. The front and side windows lack blackout curtains, something that has long been implemented even in hotels and villas of a much lower class, but less recent."
Rumours Luxury Villas & Spa
"Always a winner. Tranquil surrounding, relaxing pampering, beautiful tropical fragrances. Really enjoy the bubbles (or orange juice or tea) to enjoy after a treatment. I can never go past the hot stone massage. There’s a couple/duo massage room and their indoor/outdoor vichi shower. It’s all amazing! Worth every cent"
Te Vakaroa Villas
"Almost perfect. The Villa, beds, pillows, the view, the pool, and grounds, the location and the staff were all incredible. The breakfasts delivered to our room each morning were lovely, fresh and enjoyable. The only thing that could have improved was varying the food every couple of days. Highly, highly recommend"
Crystal Blue Lagoon Villas
"This place is outstanding. We arrived at midnight, and we could still see the varied colors of blue in the water by moonlight. The service, food, views, and accommodations were fantastic. Firstly, if you come to Raro, you simply must stay on the Muri Lagoon. Other parts of the island are lovely, but this location is the South Pacific dream you fantasize about. And it has the small motus to really complete the view, that the rest of Raro lacks. Secondly, choose the beachfront villas. These villas are some of the only truly beachfront properties on the Muri Lagoon. Other places have a pool or restaurant in between you and the beach. At Crystal Blue, your deck is on the beach itself. Thirdly, the breakfasts are varied and outstanding. We had everything from a classic English breakfast, to fresh warm croissants and pastries, to papaya with yogurt and granola. All were delicious. Fourthly, you must snorkel. Right off the back deck, you can swim with the sea turtles in incredibly clear water. They hang out beside you without care. Also tons of colorful fish and coral to be seen. I find it extremely difficult to believe that the other pricier accommodations can beat Crystal Blue at all. It’s a world class treat!"
Ocean Escape Resort & Spa
"My husband and I had the most incredible stay at Ocean Escape Resort & Spa! We were welcomed so warmly and made to feel completely at home. The whole resort has this relaxed, boutique feel that instantly puts you into holiday mode. It’s peaceful and doesn't feel crowded. We stayed in villa #2 - which was absolutely stunning! Spotlessly clean, thoughtfully designed, and filled with little touches that made it feel luxurious without being over the top. Waking up each day to ocean front views and the sound of the waves was glorious! One of the highlights for us was the gorgeous pool area. The beach isn't suitable for swimming so the fact that fresh saltwater is pumped directly from the ocean is super cool! We were very lucky to pretty much have the pool to ourselves during our stay. The on-site spa was also amazing and one of the best on the island. If you are partial to a massage do not hesitate to book. It was such a treat and the perfect way to fully switch off. Also highly recommend the food and drinks at BJ's Tapas. Everything was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. The cocktails in particular were a highlight! Every single staff member we interacted with was kind, attentive, and genuinely cared about making our stay special. If you’re looking for a peaceful escape with a personalised touch, this is it. It’s the kind of place you leave already planning your return."
Castaway Resort
Magic Reef Bungalows
"Magic Reef is true to its name! A magical retreat beside the warm lagoon waters and looking out to the awesome waves over the reef! Our beautifully appointed Beach Villa was divine!! The bed was bliss! We were just a short stroll to the best café on the island, Beluga! Simonne and Lawrence are the perfect hosts! Their electric cars, available for hire, are great to explore the delights of the Island. Magic Reef made our stay!!!"
Motu Beachfront Art Villas
"MOTU art villas is paradise!!! We stayed in the beachfront villas , from the moment we arrived it was a wonderful experience . Emma ,Mii , Amy & Claire are an amazing team , so kind generous and helpful they cannot do enough for you . The villas are stunning the little extras they leave you to get started are delish . The views and lagoon are incredible, all in all our stay was perfect. The e-bikes were great for getting around too . Cannot wait to to go back 💕💕"
Kia Orana Villas and Spa
"They gave us an upgrade to keep us happy, but I would have preferred not to see so many unwanted insects lurking in the kitchen. Sane knows how to do things, but she made too many mistakes with us: not answering messages, being very rude on the first call when I complained about the cockroaches and telling me it was normal because of the climate. I'm writing this from an apartment right in front of the beach where there isn't a single ant... so the manager wasn't up to par with us. I don't understand the good reviews when in the second apartment, the main air conditioning didn't work, the dishwasher leaked water, the lighting was generally depressing and insufficient at night, and the outdoor floors were slippery. This place needs serious attention. It's not on the beach. The other staff were very nice, to be honest. But to be told there are cockroaches because you leave crumbs, or because it's an island and humid, is unacceptable."
The Rarotongan Beach Resort & Lagoonarium
"let me start with the good, the staff were fantastic, no complaints there, the resort it's self was very sad and un-loved, but I suppose if you have to keep pouring money into it due to climate change then I don't blame you for letting it go down hill, the food I have nothing good to say about the food, for start they say they have 3 restaurants and don't say just one menu, the breakfasts no matter where you ate the hot breakfast was COLD, don't I repeat don't have the steak for dinner or if you do take a hammer and chisel with you, for the staff sake I don't want to stop anyone going there as the beach is really nice and I think great for children."
Sanctuary Rarotonga on the Beach (Adults Only)
"Although this hotel is considered a good hotel locally, the quality of its service staff needs to be improved."
