The Edgewater Resort & Spa
8.9 (45 reviews)

The Edgewater Resort & Spa ★★★★

📍 1 Puaikura Drive, Arorangi

"The room was spacious, breakfast was average, but overall it was clean."

Nautilus Resort
9.3 (61 reviews)

Nautilus Resort ★★★★

📍 Ara Tapu, Ngatangiia

"We dined at Nautilus, and the food, atmosphere, and service were all 5 stars. My husband got a steak, and I got the parrot fish. The kai was cooked wonderfully, and our table host was friendly and informative and made sure we were happy. We ordered dessert too, which was also delicious!"

Club Raro Resort- Adults Only
7.8 (121 reviews)

Club Raro Resort- Adults Only ★★★

📍 Rarotonga, Avarua

"The hotel is relatively close to the airport, and you can walk to the city's restaurants in about ten minutes. The basic room type looks very simple but it's clean. There are no duvets, only sheets, so if you're sensitive to cold, you can grab a blanket from the closet. It has direct beach access, and even on cloudy days, the scenery is beautiful with many stunning rocks. The breakfast is so basic that there aren't even eggs, and you have to pay extra for hot food, which is also really bad."

Moana Sands Lagoon Resort
8.8 (78 reviews)

Moana Sands Lagoon Resort ★★★

📍 Ara Tapu Road Main Road, Rarotonga, Ngatangiia

"Everything is expensive when you travel to the Cook Islands. The so-called buffet breakfast here is just bread, cereal, instant coffee, and one or two types of fruit. Everything else costs extra. However, the environment is quite nice. The beach to the right of the hotel is a great spot for snorkeling, with lots of fish."

Pacific Resort Rarotonga
8.9 (65 reviews)

Pacific Resort Rarotonga ★★★★

📍 Muri Beach, Ngatangiia

"A very nice hotel, the staff are very helpful, and there are many activities to choose from on the island beach, including kayaking and snorkeling equipment. The hotel environment is also great, with many dogs."

Muri Beach Resort
8.8 (68 reviews)

Muri Beach Resort ★★★

📍 Muri Beach, Ngatangiia

"What a fabulous place to stay! Super friendly welcoming reception when we arrived. Our well-appointed bungalow overlooked the pool - a sunny sheltered spot a stones throw from the beach. Right next door to the night market & cafes, restaurants, convenience store close by. Bus stop at the gate. A lounge is available next to the office to store luggage in after checkout. We will be back for sure!"

Moana Sands Villas & Apartments
9.1 (45 reviews)

Moana Sands Villas & Apartments ★★★★

📍 Ara Tapu Road Main Road Beachfront Rarotonga, Rarotonga, Takitumu

"Our stay at Moana Sands Villa was exceptional. The accommodation was spacious and furnished, with all the amenities we needed. Opening the lounge door to the beach was simply magical. Having a 24-hour supermarket nearby was incredibly convenient, and the nearby cafe and take-away shop were fantastic. Overall, a perfect getaway destination that we can't wait to return to."

The Islander Hotel
8.1 (113 reviews)

The Islander Hotel ★★★

"This place was way better than we expected. It was so close which felt so easy at midnight. Friendly staff and quick to get in. We loved the design and feel of the room. Great breakfast with amazing lattes."

Reflections on Rarotonga Hotels in Rarotonga

Reflections on Rarotonga

"The villa, although not new, is well-maintained and equipped with everything necessary. The owner is accommodating and responsive. We checked in on December 30th and discovered the air conditioning in one bedroom wasn't working. We called the contact number, and they arranged for it to be repaired on December 31st! Special thanks. We asked for masks and fins, and they arrived within an hour. We asked for an extra hour, and they agreed without complaining, even though the cleaners arrived on time and waited for us to vacate the villa. FYI: The villa consists of two identical two-story villas, each with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, and everything else. These villas are not connected, but if you have a large group or family, it's easy to access each other via the beach or through the front doors. Disadvantages: The swimming pools at both villas are not on the seaside, but in the courtyard. The sliding doors to the first-floor bedroom are already outdated and in need of replacement. The front and side windows lack blackout curtains, something that has long been implemented even in hotels and villas of a much lower class, but less recent."

Rumours Luxury Villas & Spa Hotels in Rarotonga

Rumours Luxury Villas & Spa

"Rumours Luxury Villas and Spa is rated number one among 5 star options on Rarotonga year after year for a reason. It is excellent on all fronts. The accommodations are excellent, the service is excellent, and the location is excellent. We stayed in the Beachfront Platinum Villa for a week over Christmas/New Year of 2023/24. The Villa itself is amazing with a spacious main living area and Kitchen, two ocean facing primary bedrooms with beautifully designed bathrooms, a private pool and jacuzzi, and I believe what had to be largest private deck closest to the ocean in the Muri Beach area. This deck is where we spent every morning drinking coffee, and in the evening watching the sunset, and later staring at the amazing stars on display. Everything about this villa was superb. The staff were also amazing, including Toni and John who were always very helpful and friendly with lots of tips and advice, as were the rest of the staff! The experience was so good we are going back the end of next month and are staying in the same Villa. The fact that we are returning for a second trip says a lot, as does the fact that I am writing this review, which I don't often do. If you are going to Rarotonga, choose Rumors, and if the Platinum Villa is available, I would highly recommend you choose it. Thanks to everyone at Rumours Luxury Villas and Spa and see you again very soon."

Crystal Blue Lagoon Villas Hotels in Rarotonga

Crystal Blue Lagoon Villas

"This place is outstanding. We arrived at midnight, and we could still see the varied colors of blue in the water by moonlight. The service, food, views, and accommodations were fantastic. Firstly, if you come to Raro, you simply must stay on the Muri Lagoon. Other parts of the island are lovely, but this location is the South Pacific dream you fantasize about. And it has the small motus to really complete the view, that the rest of Raro lacks. Secondly, choose the beachfront villas. These villas are some of the only truly beachfront properties on the Muri Lagoon. Other places have a pool or restaurant in between you and the beach. At Crystal Blue, your deck is on the beach itself. Thirdly, the breakfasts are varied and outstanding. We had everything from a classic English breakfast, to fresh warm croissants and pastries, to papaya with yogurt and granola. All were delicious. Fourthly, you must snorkel. Right off the back deck, you can swim with the sea turtles in incredibly clear water. They hang out beside you without care. Also tons of colorful fish and coral to be seen. I find it extremely difficult to believe that the other pricier accommodations can beat Crystal Blue at all. It’s a world class treat!"

Moana Sands Lagoon Resort ★★★
"The room is just normal, just enable to live. But the breakfast is extremely simple and not delicious. Some people was burning stuff all the time next to beach and very bad smell all over. Equipment was like from last century and worn out. We were kept waiting for 2 hrs when checking-in, not any good service was offered. The reception also has very rude disrespectful attitude when checking out, I will never come to this resort anymore and waste money on this rubbish resort, too much unworthy compared to the other 2 resorts. You can definitely find better places with much less cost."

Muri Beach Resort ★★★
"Set in beautiful gardens right next to the beach, this resort is small but lovely. There are 22 villas, most facing the gardens but also a couple of beach front villas. There is also a pool. The villas range from recently refurbished (lagoon view villas) to slightly dated but all very clean and well equipped. We had premium service, which included daily housekeeping (good to keep clean and bugs to a minimum) and daily breakfast (served at the Nautilus hotel next door). Breakfast was a buffet, with a few order items, but plenty of choice. There is also a takeaway across the road (Rima’s Bakery ) which has good reasonably priced food. The Muri night market and Rarotonga Sailing club are just a 5 minute walk. There is also the TEM small convenience store there too. The beach in front of the resort is lovely but the water is shallow and a bit rocky. Kayaks and paddle boards are available for free hire. We found snorkelling was better near the Rarotongan Resort. Our favourite activity was snorkelling with the turtles. We used Moana Sea scooters. We only had 6 in our group. It was so much fun. Please remember to use mosquito repellent, as there are mosquitos about. Enjoy the fun in the sun."

Moana Sands Villas & Apartments ★★★★
"The view from our upstairs apartment room 506 was insane! The rooms were very large and well appointed. Snorkelling was amazing right out the front. Walking distance to Vaima's restaurant which is one of the best on the island. Handy having Wigmore's Supermarket across the road. Only downside was the noise and light at night. It is such a busy hub till late being the only 24/7 supermarket, so a lot of road noise, the rehab party bus stopping outside at night and dogs hanging around and barking. You could hear roosters but they were nothing in comparison to the rest of the noise. The curtains were very see through at night, so we had to get extra blankets to hang up etc to try to make the rooms dark enough at night. The front door is glass so light streamed in from the big outdoor lights so we had to put a mattress up against it to block the light and a bit of the noise as well. All in all, it is a great place with great facilities, amazing beach and views, very lovely staff but if you are a light sleeper then you may struggle."

"Location is great, just opposite to the airport. Room is quite big. As the other review says it has loud party noise until 11pm. If you need an early sleep for the early flight next day, better try to avoid this hotel."
