"My friends and I had such a great time at Solea Mactan Resort! The pools were fun, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the whole resort had a relaxing and enjoyable vibe. "The hotel is about a 15-minute taxi ride from the airport, which is true and very convenient. You're greeted with live music at the entrance. Security is present: security checkpoints, baggage scanning, and guards with dogs. The hotel has its own beach and three entrances to the sea. The water is crystal clear, fish swim right off the shore, and life jackets are free. The hotel is very family-friendly. There are water slides, a kids' club, and a huge playroom. You can even leave your child with a nanny (for an additional fee). There are daily activities for both children and adults, including arcade machines, air hockey, and morning yoga. Breakfast is included, and it's excellent. There are two restaurants, a huge selection of food, and everything is delicious. Even ice cream is included. After breakfast, children are given marbles—a small change, but a nice touch. Lunch and dinner are extra. There are Italian and Cantonese restaurants, as well as various buffets. There are bars on the beach, by the pool, and in the lobby. Live music plays in the evening, creating a great atmosphere. The grounds are vast: golf, mini-golf, tennis, billiards, table tennis, and badminton. Wi-Fi works great throughout the property. The staff is very friendly. The main drawback is the renovations; they need a refresh. However, the service and infrastructure are still excellent."

"I booked this place wondering if it was the same one we stayed at for our honeymoon 19 years ago, and it was exactly as I remembered. The facilities are definitely showing their age now; the air conditioning is noisy, and many areas clearly need renovation. However, the surrounding ocean and swimming pool were still incredibly beautiful and lovely. Unfortunately, there's a large building under construction right behind the property, which has been going on for years. I imagine it would be quite noisy on weekdays, but since we stayed over the weekend, it was quiet and pleasant for us. Most importantly, the stars in the night sky were so incredibly clear – it was completely rejuvenating. Also, on our first day, I accidentally left my bag in a Grab taxi, and the staff were incredibly helpful in assisting me. I was very grateful for their efforts. The staff at the breakfast buffet were also very friendly, especially one older gentleman who was exceptionally kind. The breakfast menu changed slightly over our three-day stay, and they even made omelets fresh and brought them to our table, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The restaurant view is also stunning. Because of the loud air conditioner, we'd turn it on when we left for swimming or meals, and then turn it off when we came back to the room. There are three swimming pools, with varying depths like 4, 5, 8, and 12 feet. Being able to swim while looking out at the ocean is just beautiful. If you enter a less crowded pool, a staff member will even come over and clean it for you."

"My family and I only stayed for a night but it was a fun experience. There are a lot of pools and activity areas. All the pools were about knee to a bit above the waist high which was okay, I'm assuming it's for the safety of the kids since there are a lot of families with children in the resort. We also enjoyed the food(room service and breakfast buffet), but we were a bit disappointed with the dessert since the pastries were a little dry and bland. The drinks however, were good and enjoyable. Service was really nice, everyone always greeted us with a smile and was attentive to our needs. Wifi is free and so far we have had no problem with the speed. The beds are comfortable and the rooms were clean. Though I felt our experience was a bit lacking since there were a few toiletries that were not provided, like room slippers, cotton buds and cotton, a comb, etc. Also the cable was not good so staying in the room to relax would feel a little boring. Also, you only get 1 free request for ice and the next has a payment. But they do provide free water which is refillable and they also offer free instant coffee and tea. Overall, it was a fun experience and I would still love to come back next time."

"We stayed for 2 nights. It was decent value for money. But lots of small giggles...our room was right kn top of the area that served bfast. Trolleys bringing food in made a lot of noise from 5 am! Towels were not freely available! Choice of food for vegetarians is limited."

"Our stay at Dusit Thani was overall pleasant. The rooms were comfortable, the property was well-maintained, and the general ambiance met our expectations for a relaxing stay. However, the check-in experience was quite challenging. I was not physically present during check-in as my family arrived ahead of me. Despite sending an email and making a call to authorize them, the front desk did not allow my family to check in on my behalf. This caused unnecessary inconvenience and delay. While I understand the importance of security, the process felt overly rigid and left me uncomfortable with the lack of flexibility and trust extended to guests, especially for pre-booked and confirmed reservations with clear communication. For guests booking multiple rooms or arriving separately, I strongly recommend registering the actual guests who will be staying in each room in advance to avoid similar issues. Overall, the stay itself was enjoyable, but I hope the hotel can improve its check-in procedures to be more guest-friendly while still maintaining security."

"Lovely hotel . Nice and quiet, situated in a quite place for relaxing . Ordering taxi’s to go out of the resort was comfortable. Breakfast needs a little more flavour. Staff was helpful. They have a tour guide on site to assist with any trips. Great work"

"I recently stayed at Bluewater Maribago and had an overall pleasant experience. The resort offers a relaxing atmosphere with strong hospitality standards and several standout features, though there are also areas that could benefit from improvement. What I Liked 1. Excellent service and hospitality, especially at the Oyster Bar. The staff were attentive, warm, and professional, which truly elevated the dining experience. 2. Newly refurbished modern rooms that feel fresh, clean, and well-designed for comfort. 3. Convenient buggy service around the property, which makes getting around easy and enjoyable. 4. Lifeguards stationed at all pools and swimming areas, providing reassurance and a strong sense of safety for guests. 5. Anuma Spa’s ambience and treatment selection, which offer a relaxing environment with a wide range of spa services to choose from. Areas for Improvement 1. Breakfast management during peak hours needs significant improvement. Around 8:30 AM, the breakfast area becomes very busy, and food replenishment is slow. For example, while there are three hot steamers dedicated to eggs, bacon — a hot favorite — is served on a small plate that gets wiped out within seconds. Food supply and quality control during peak periods should be better managed to ensure consistency. The bread selection, however, is excellent and deserves recognition. 2. Security procedures may unintentionally compromise guest privacy. Guests are frequently asked to state their room number when leaving the lobby, and again when entering through the guardhouse — first to taxi drivers and then to security officers. This means multiple strangers may overhear room numbers, which raises safety and privacy concerns. A more discreet verification process would enhance guest security. 3. Spa promotions for in-house guests are lacking. While the spa experience is excellent, there are currently no exclusive perks for staying guests. Introducing options such as an early bird discount (e.g., 10:00 AM–3:00 PM) or curated half-day and full-day “head-to-toe recharge” packages would be attractive. The spa pricing is relatively high compared to comparable standard spas outside the hotel, so value-added incentives for in-house guests would make the experience even more appealing. Overall, Bluewater Maribago offers a comfortable and well-maintained resort experience with strong service standards. With improvements in breakfast management, privacy-focused security procedures, and enhanced spa promotions for in-house guests, the resort could further elevate its guest experience."

"This was a wonderful vacation because I chose a hotel that was perfect for me. I booked an executive suite, and from the lounge, I could see the sea and the blue sky, enjoying the seamless view. The breakfast offered a wide variety of seafood and many local fruits. The bananas in the Philippines are incredibly rich and fragrant. Next time I visit, I'll definitely stay here again and enjoy the executive suite. In the evening, I wanted to try my luck at the casino, which was very convenient and safe. This was truly another fantastic trip for me."
