The Holly Hill Inn ★★★
The Dove Cote ★★★★
Holiday Inn DARLINGTON - A1 SCOTCH CORNER by IHG ★★★★
"We stayed for 1 night, the room is exactly as described. Staff were friendly, breakfast included was a bonus. No issues with the room - clean, comfortable bed. The smell from the toilets were very strong in the reception area but thankfully wasn't present past that with the corridor fire doors. Free parking was also handy."

"Stayed here when waiting on RAC. Josh was very helpful and assisted us when our onward transport was delayed"

The Kings Head Hotel, Richmond, North Yorkshire ★★★★

"Had birthday dinner here with our son. Meal was good but clearly understaffed and mistakes made as a result. We were expecting excellent service but drinks order was forgotten, menu items muddled up etc .... not the service we've been used to on other occasions"

Shoulder of Mutton
"Our hosts Mark and Lyndsey were exceptional and we enjoyed great conversation throughout our stay. The food and accommodation were also excellent, with the fully refurbished annex room to the front more akin to an apartment than a double bedroom! Hopefully we will have an opportunity to return in the not too distant future! Thanks for everything 🙏👍"
Stable Yard Rooms
"Great place. Room was lovely and the hosts could not have done more for us. Very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend."
The Milbank Arms
"I recently attended a wedding reception at the Millbank Arms. I was so impressed with their offering on every level. The food was exceptional, the service outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble! We all had a great time. A big thank-you to the whole team."
The Farmers Arms
"Visited tonight for my sons birthday. 4 adults 2 children. Food was ok but I wouldn’t say the service was worth the price we paid. We were shoved in a corner next to the carvery. The table was very sticky. I was told this was due to the varnish but one end of the table hadn’t been cleaned as it was full of crumbs and salt from the previous guests. We had dirty workmen squeezing behind us to get to the corridor up to the rooms and people walking out the back door at the end of our table every five minutes coming back stinking of cigarettes. I took a small birthday cake and candles which was brought out after the meal. We were given napkins to eat the cake off but no cutlery or plates so had to eat it with our fingers. I appreciate we didn’t purchase the cake from the restaurant but after spending over £110 I would have thought a couple of plates and forks wouldn’t have been begrudged. Didn’t feel like a nice meal to celebrate a birthday. A burns night menu was also on offering with a piper promised to play at 7pm but when he arrived he said he couldn’t play so said a 30 second poem and left. Would have been equally as disappointed in the evening if we had come specifically for burns night."
The Castle Tavern Pub & Guest Rooms
"An excellent at the Castle Tavern, we have stayed in Richmond on a number of occasions but the Castle Inn was by far the best to date and would be difficult to better."
Virginia House a Contemporary Cosy Period Cottage
The Fairhaven at Badgers Retreat.
Travelodge Scotch Corner Skeeby
"We stayed one night having attended an event nearby. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. We slept really well - no noise and comfortable temperature. Be aware that there is no restaurant or bar on site, just a vending machine, but it’s easy to find places to eat nearby. A great place to stay to get a good nights sleep while travelling. Big shout out to Caitlin for organising the return of my phone charger."
Alma House
Bridgedown House
"All bedrooms were a good size and we loved that 3 had ensuite and one the sole use of the main bathroom. The kitchen was well equipped and we appreciated the welcome pack from the owner. We loved sitting out in the garden on warm summer nights having bbqs. The living room was a great gathering space and had plenty of comfy sofas and an armchair. It was great to have a wonderful circular walk next to the river right behind the cottage. The old station across the road from the cottage served excellent food and we had a great night out at the cinema there to watch The Odyssey. Thank you for making our holiday such a special and memorable one."
Dibble Cottage
Whashton Springs Farmhouse B&B
"We booked this accommodation based on the fabulous reviews and were not disappointed. We had a lovely welcome from Jane and were shown to our courtyard room where we were given the relevant information and left to do our quick turnaround to go into Richmond for dinner. Our room for 2 adults and a child was spacious and extremely comfortable. The place has obviously been carefully restored with guest comfort and pleasing aesthetics in mind whilst retaining the traditional farmhouse style. Breakfast was plentiful and freshly prepared and nothing was too much trouble for Jane and the lovely lady who was waiting on us (sorry we didn’t catch her name). And what a beautiful view from the breakfast room. We would not hesitate to recommend and will definitely visit again if in the area."
West End Guest House
"Really enjoyed the stay here. The owner was friendly, and good Location. Good breakfast. Would stay again if in the area"
