The hosts, Caroline and Lucie, were great - they were very responsive, and always willing to help with restaurant suggestions and reservations, wine tastings, and transport to the airport. The hotel itself is beautiful and tastefully decorated, and the outdoor patio was a lovely place to enjoy breakfast and start the day."

"We stayed at Clos 1906 for a week and truly enjoyed our holiday. The property is delightful, peaceful and set amid surrounding fields of vines. We were there during a heatwave and the air conditioning was perfect and most welcome. Eduard and the staff were very friendly and helpful and our stay was completely relaxing. Breakfast was great and the pool was most welcome. The wine tasting and various restaurant recommendations were perfect. The Clos is around a 15 minute walk into St Emilion, so no need to use the car, and around a 10 minute walk to the train (to Bordeaux and Sarlat/Bergerac). We will definitely return, thank you to Eduard and the team!"

"This is a castle hotel surrounded by vineyards. It features an outdoor heated pool, spa, sauna, and a simple yet elegant restaurant. While a car (taxi) is necessary to get there from the nearest station, it's a hotel well worth the trip. Breakfast is simple but consistently good. The only downside was the minimal amenities in the guest rooms (there was no hair conditioner)."

"Top marks for this amazing place. Difficult to find if driving - and they do have valet parking- so watch the sat nav. The hotel is set in several buildings on the top of a hill. It absolutely defines charm! We took three elevators to gain access to the most perfect room. Sleep quality was ten out of ten. Location for St Emilion is also perfect Breakfast is a joy and the staff enhance your stay for sure. There is no better place to stay and explore this amazing village. Just incredible"

"This place is situated in a very small village with a vinyard as nearest neighbour and vines as far as your eye can see. Of course it's not a five star hotel, but the rooms have space and contain all we need, and are clean. Hassan, the host, makes everything for you to have a good time. He makes breakfast or a three dishes dinner in the evening if you want to. And he provides his own taxi service and bike renting. The five stars we give are based on his hospitality and the environment around. Sitting in the garden seeing the sun go down over the vines with his excellent food and a glass of wine, is a great experience. "
