Hotel Kastel 1700

Anna at the check-in was so helpful- walked us to our room (in the Annex Building) and was very accommodating. The pre-arranged p/up at the airport was very efficient, driver was excellent.

Perfect location to explore old town. No elevator but staff assisted with luggage. Check in/out was fast and friendly and room was clean and comfortable.

Location is the best in the very old city!

Stunning views and excellent well needed air conditioning! We stayed as a family of four in late July. Our room was up four flights of stairs, great for working off those gelatos but not for the faint hearted! Staff were super helpful and friendly, carried our bags up to the top floor. Very minor - the breakfast offering could be improved. The room is very pokey, the coffee machine is not very good. It would be good to have more hot food on offer, perhaps cooked to order. It wasn’t clear how long what hot food there was had been sitting out hence we avoided it. The only real negative is the owner and guests sitting right outside the main door smoking all day long. It’s just not very pleasant having to walk through cigarette smoke multiple times a day. I do appreciate a lot more people smoke on the continent than they do at home, but it’s not a nice welcome.

We stayed 2 wonderful nights in Hotel Kastel 1700 in Split. The room was larger than expected and the bed very comfortable. The friendly staff carried our bags up the steps, and is going to take them to the port for us tomorrow when we leave. The breakfast was included and very nice also. Can't beat the location right inside Diocletian's Palace on the side next the Old Town also!
