SShuYiiiiiThis time, I traveled with my 5-month-old baby. The butler proactively contacted us a day in advance and prepared a bottle sterilizer, bed bumper, and crib, which we needed. The room was spacious and not old, easily accommodating all the luggage that comes with a baby.
**Cleanliness**: As adults, we didn't experience any itching or rashes from the hotel bedding, and there were no traces of uncleaned spots on the bed. We generated a lot of trash daily with the baby, and the housekeeping staff always cleaned it up promptly for us.
**Environment**: The public areas were quite large with good greenery and very few insects. However, some parts were under construction, and there was a faint smell of paint in the air circulating through the lobby. The soundproofing in the guest room was also excellent.
**Service**: On the first night, the bed was too soft. I messaged the butler in the middle of the night asking for help to flip the mattress. They quickly came in the morning and changed it to the firmer side for us, even folding our baby's own fitted sheet. We also needed to refrigerate our baby's liquid formula, and the front desk did a great job helping us with that when we checked out.
If I had to point out some areas for improvement:
1. The room's refrigerator could be updated; the cooling effect wasn't great.
2. The breakfast was plentiful, but there wasn't much variety day-to-day.
3. The main entrance and the beach weren't very stroller-friendly; one had raised stone paths, and the other was sandy without a proper walkway.
4. In our specific room, the labels on the light switches weren't clear – practically nonexistent. However, we noticed other rooms did have labels, so I suggest the hotel updates this.
Overall, it was still very good, and I'd be willing to choose InterContinental again when the baby is a bit older.

The service was delightful; the staff's smiles and thoughtfulness made every moment warm and welcoming. The room balcony offers breathtaking sea views, and the bathtub is perfect for sunbathing – both excellent spots for photos and relaxation. I was pleasantly surprised by this trip and will definitely be back again.

Waking up to clouds, mist, and birdsong in the morning was delightful. The staff were warm and attentive, and the food was very much to our liking. The infinity pool offered breathtaking views over Yalong Bay. The shuttle service was prompt and efficient, always there when we called, making photo ops a breeze with the interplay of light and shadow, giving off a really unique vibe. If you love natural surroundings, this place is definitely worth a try!

Let me elaborate on a few points.
Firstly, the staff provided warm and attentive service. The ladies at the front desk were all exceptional. From actively considering our group size and room allocation before check-in, to promptly responding to every single request during our stay, and even giving gifts to my child and me upon departure, everything contributed to a very pleasant experience. When we checked out, our shuttle couldn't pick us up for some reason. We thought, 'It's not far anyway, we can just walk to the lobby with our luggage.' But two minutes later, the front desk proactively arranged for staff to help with our luggage. Their initiative was impressive; they weren't just following orders but actively thinking about how to serve us.
Secondly, the room offered excellent privacy, and the facilities were convenient and well-equipped with everything we needed. A small detail that stood out was that the ashtray usually came with one box of matches. The cleaning staff must have noticed I smoked when they cleaned the room the next day because they left an extra box. It's these small details that truly reflect service quality and make a stay enjoyable.
Thirdly, the location is unbeatable. It's very close to the bustling downtown area, offering a blend of local life and convenience. Whether you want to enjoy a private beach or experience the vibrancy of Sanya, it's perfect. The beach offers stunning sunset views, and from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM, complimentary drinks, alcoholic beverages, fruits, and snacks are provided by the beach, allowing for a relaxing enjoyment of the ocean sunset. Because it's close to the city, food delivery is very fast, and the hotel promptly helps deliver takeout to our room door, giving us more dining options and convenience. This aspect truly surpasses many other hotels.
The only minor drawback is that since the hotel was built some time ago, some of the fixed facilities are a bit older. For example, the toilet is quite basic, with manual flushing and no heated seat. For someone used to smart toilets, sitting on a cold seat was a bit of a jolt, hahaha. But overall, the minor flaws do not detract from the overall excellence.
When we checked out, the front desk lady asked my child if they'd like to come again. My child said yes! Indeed, if we come to Sanya again, we will still choose Banyan Tree.

I recently stayed at 1 Hotel in Sanya, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The aesthetic of the property is truly stunning—every corner feels thoughtfully designed, and there are countless beautiful spots perfect for taking photos. It’s easily one of the most visually impressive hotels I’ve visited.
The staff were exceptionally helpful and accommodating, and I want to give special recognition to Jonathan from the concierge team. He was outstanding throughout my stay—friendly, attentive, and consistently going above and beyond. Every request I had was handled with care, and his assistance made the experience even more seamless.
The pool area was fantastic, spacious and relaxing. Although only one pool was open during my stay since it wasn’t peak season, the one available was more than enough to enjoy.
Breakfast was another highlight—there was a large variety of dishes, offering something for every preference, and everything I tried was fresh and delicious.
Another great feature is the access to the beach via an under-path, which conveniently runs beneath the busy road. It’s a short walk of about five minutes and makes getting to the beach safe and easy.
Overall, 1 Hotel Sanya perfectly blends style, comfort, and exceptional service. I’d highly recommend it and would happily stay again.

Dderrick071314Service: Our butler, Xinxin, provided absolutely amazing service. She called me two days before check-in to ask about our travel plans and room preferences. When she found out it was a family trip with kids, she even asked for their ages and genders – that was incredibly thoughtful! She stayed in touch throughout our stay, checking in on us. Especially with the hot weather, she made sure the housekeeping staff left extra bottled water and fruit when they cleaned the room. Big bonus points for that!
Facilities: The hotel facilities are very comprehensive, especially the family rooms. They have all sorts of items for children (baby bathtub, potty, kids' toothbrushes, etc.). The food at the hotel is also excellent; it tastes great, and the prices are reasonable for a star-rated hotel (both the Chinese and Western restaurants cater to all needs).
Environment: The hotel environment is beautiful, with a small river. It's very quiet at night. There's a food court nearby, and a supermarket right across from the hotel, which is super convenient.
Daily exclusive children's nutritional meal package: This is really fantastic, a definite plus!

MM278375****Extremely satisfied! Out of the four hotels we stayed at during our peninsula trip, this one offered the best value for money and overall experience. Although the hotel was built in 2016 and has some age, the facilities are incredibly well-maintained and very clean. My child had a fantastic time enjoying the heated pool, kids' club, and the evening fire show!
Krystal Luo Siyi provided excellent service, promptly fulfilling all our requests. I'm quite sensitive to smells, especially the dampness by the sea, and was worried about a musty odor. Krystal proactively arranged for a dehumidifier and later added an air purifier, making our stay very comfortable. She thoughtfully checked in with us daily, anticipating our needs and ensuring everything was arranged in advance, which gave us great peace of mind.
I also want to commend Daniel from the concierge. Our luggage was damaged by the staff delivering it, and Daniel immediately stepped in, taking responsibility and expressing apologies. He found a quick solution to repair the suitcase, which didn't affect its use at all. Excellent customer service truly means solving problems and caring for guests' feelings.
The Executive Lounge benefits were superb and highly recommended!

2205720****Perhaps because it was off-season, we got a room upgrade with an amazing sea view. My kids had a fantastic time. It would have been even better if the pool was heated. They have a mini-train and opportunities to feed small animals, which seems especially good for younger children.
The breakfast was plentiful, and the evening buffet had a performance. Allen, the manager at the breakfast restaurant, provided excellent service.
Overall, it's great value for money, and I'd definitely stay here again if I have the chance.

JJianyingdexiaoniangaoOur National Day holiday trip was fantastic! The hotel was incredibly comfortable and offered amazing value for money. My butler, Rita, was absolutely wonderful. Thanks to her, our dining, accommodation, and touring experiences all went very smoothly. Our room was excellent, with a sea view, which I believe Rita helped upgrade for us.
The breakfast was also quite good, and we even saw a huge moon here. For the Mid-Autumn Festival, they surprised me with fruit and mooncakes.
The front desk staff mentioned that a butler service is only available for bookings made through Ctrip, and I really feel that having a butler makes a huge difference. It upgraded what would have been a 90% experience to a 99% one!

This hotel is ten years old, so the in-room amenities are quite dated. The cabinets show obvious signs of wear and tear, and the sofa by the bed was especially concerning – I'm not sure if the hygiene was poor, but when I wiped it with a tissue, it came away black. The room itself isn't very spacious. It did come with a garment steamer and a safe, but no mini-fridge. Laundry service also costs extra; it seems like pricier hotels often charge for laundry and don't have self-service laundromats. The hotel's pool area is small, just two pools, one large and one small. There is a row of hotel chairs on the beach.
## Hygiene:
Even though I was mentally prepared for the musty smell common in beachfront hotels, the mildew odor in this room was overpowering. My nose felt really uncomfortable when trying to sleep at night. The disposable toothbrush was also surprisingly dirty, covered in dust on the outside – I'm not sure why they wouldn't provide a clean one.
## Environment:
The only upside is the direct ocean view; you can even see the sea from the toilet, which is a bit much. Honestly, I really dislike the lack of privacy when showering or using the toilet. Many older hotels, for some reason, love these glass walls, which is awkward whether you're staying with friends or family.
## Service:
The only 'smart' feature here is the room key being a wristband, which is convenient for going into the water as you don't have to worry about forgetting it. Each room also came with two bottles of Master Kong water and a welcome fruit plate.
