DDaxianyunyoushijie## Prime Location & Accessibility
* This is an established luxury five-star hotel situated in the heart of Bangkok's commercial district. It's right next to the Erawan Shrine, and within walking distance to Siam Paragon, Central World, and Big C. The Chit Lom BTS station is just a stone's throw away, making both taxis and the Skytrain incredibly convenient for getting around.
* Ideal for business travelers, shoppers, and those who appreciate classic luxury. Younger guests seeking minimalist, modern design might find it a bit traditional.
## Facilities & Services
1. **Guest Rooms:** Recently renovated by Tony Chi, the rooms are elegant and comfortable with high-quality linens and excellent soundproofing. Some entry-level room sizes are a bit compact for a city-center hotel. Welcome fruits and well-stocked toiletries are provided.
2. **Dining:** Breakfast offers a good variety (Thai + Western). Erawan Tea Room is a Michelin-recommended Thai restaurant, and the Executive Lounge service is consistently good. Some restaurant prices are on the higher side.
3. **Leisure:** The pool isn't huge, better suited for relaxation than extended swimming. The spa has an excellent reputation with professional therapists. The gym is open 24/7 with a full range of equipment.
4. **Service:** The front desk is efficient, and Globalist benefits are well-executed. Chinese-speaking staff are available. The hotel upholds the strong attention to detail and consistency expected of a long-standing five-star property.
5. **Ambiance:** Features a high-ceilinged lobby with a blend of European and Thai decor, exuding an 'Old Money' vibe. While well-maintained, it has a sense of history rather than a modern, minimalist aesthetic.

Ssunshinebunnyamazing stay! the link bridge connected to all the major shopping area! practically do not need any transport. the bridge is suitable for wheelchair too! i do not have to worry about traffic jam, raining day or even out in the sun! the bridge solved everything. i love my stay here. i did not mention about celebrating birthday during my stay yet the hotel was able to identify it and sent a birthday cake into my room.
i upgraded on the spot to The Club which enabled me to access breakfast. the selection was not wow but quality and service impressive. i requested for non egg yolk sunny side up, and they managed to help me with it. will definitely come back!
you can request room service/ amenities through an app. the service was fast! i ordered food through room service and requested for ice tub. within 20mins, it was delivered to my room 4520.

Great
GGuest UserGreat service, clean and quiet room. It's a really nice place overall, my only complaint is that there isn't a 7-Eleven nearby, which makes it a bit inconvenient for buying things. Otherwise, everything else is really good.

Great
KKaren288Advantages of this hotel:
· Located right next to a newly opened Go Kart track
· Across the street from Watergate Street's Hainanese Chicken Rice and street food stalls – very convenient for eating
Disadvantages:
· Many Indian guests and families with children, too noisy
· Kids running around everywhere – noisy
· Not a good choice for couples or anyone seeking peace and quiet
· Breakfast area is extremely crowded – so busy that you lose all interest in getting food
Summary:
· Good for: People who want to play Go Kart, don't mind noise, love street food, and are okay with skipping breakfast or eating out.
· Not good for: Couples, honeymooners, or anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing stay.

Very Good
GGuest UserI was quite anxious when I arrived, as many reviews mentioned the hotel being old and dated. However, after staying for three days, I have to commend this hotel! 1. The lobby is opulent, and 'rich and varied' doesn't even begin to describe the spread at breakfast. 2. The service is exceptional; they are basically ready to help with anything you need. There's always someone to open the door when you enter the lobby, and the front desk and room service are fantastic! When I checked out, they helped me book a taxi to the airport, which was cheaper than both Grab and Trip.com, costing only 500 Thai Baht (to Don Mueang Airport). 3. The gym is huge, easily over 400 square meters, with all sorts of equipment and dedicated staff. I didn't get to use the pool, but there were lots of kids enjoying it. 4. The hotel's location is convenient, right next to an MRT station. Although it's about 6-7km from the main tourist attractions, for this price, service, and facilities, there's absolutely nothing to complain about. Book with confidence! In the evenings, there's a night market nearby, mostly frequented by locals, offering great value for money. If you turn right outside, there's a 'Chinatown' street with all kinds of delicious food.
GGuest UserI booked a river view room, and the view was absolutely stunning, offering a panoramic sight of the Chao Phraya River's nightscape. The room was clean and tidied daily. Breakfast was a generous spread. Walking out and turning right, it's about a 5-minute stroll to Asiatique The Riverfront. From 10 AM to 8 PM, there's a boat service every hour from the hotel to the Central Pier. From there, you can take another boat for 10 Baht per person directly to ICONSIAM on the opposite bank. For 600 baht a night including breakfast, the value for money is really good.

GGarreth HuntBangkok was the last stop on our trip to Thailand and we booked this hotel as a treat to end our trip given it's 5 star status. We were left very disappointed...
The lobby is lovely and is indicative of a high end hotel but that's where it ended unfortunately. The rooms are 3 star at best. We had booked a room with a balcony specifically but the initial room we were given didn't have one. The staff were very helpful and moved us to another room with a balcony, however the balcony was surrounded by fans so we had limited views. We were offered another room on our second day with a better balcony but the room itself was smaller so we opted to stay where we were. From what we could see, none of the balconies are great so I would avoid paying the extra for rooms with them.
The pool is cold and in need of some work, the grout is coming away in many areas creating sharp edges in spots. Also not 5 star quality.
Breakfast was the nicest setup and offering we had seen in Thailand.

EExpat EDventuresWe had a very pleasant stay at Somerset Sukhumvit 71 Bangkok. Check-in was easy and smooth with welcome infused water, and the on-site café was excellent, with delicious breakfast pastries. The beds were firm and clean, the room was comfortable, and housekeeping did a great job cleaning and making our beds daily. We also appreciated that both of our rooms were booked next to each other, which made travelling as a family much easier. Our fourteen-year-old’s bed was already made up upon arrival, which was a thoughtful touch.
John, the concierge, was outstanding. He managed to book a same-day bike tour for our family of six and also kindly arranged our airport transfer. His service truly stood out and made our stay even better.
Our only disappointment was New Year’s Eve. We had planned to ring in the new year at the rooftop venue, but it was fully booked. I had messaged the hotel in advance through the Trip app but didn’t receive a response. Instead, we followed a restaurant recommendation from the front desk, only to arrive 56 minutes before closing and be told the kitchen was already closed. Two other nearby restaurants were also closed, so we ended up grabbing snacks from the 7-Eleven across the street. The hotel kindly unlocked our balcony so we could at least watch the fireworks from our room.
The rooftop restaurant is beautiful, and the pool area is also very nice, although the water was quite cold, so we didn’t swim. The location is a bit far out, but overall, we enjoyed our stay so much that we extended it and booked a third night. A great hotel with excellent service, especially from the concierge, and we would happily stay again.

JjcdkThere was renovation going on while I stayed in the hotel October2025, like pool not accessible you would have to ride the shuttle to enjoy at a different location, which I did not do; this hotel is good staff well accommodating and even the manager assisted me to the very port where I was able to catch a boat taxi to Pratunam. The hotel is just 2mins away from Thonglor boat stop. Hotel didn’t have an ATM but around the corner on the main road you can find one, there is 711 on the same road about 5-7 mins away. The security guy helped me a lot by showing me around in & outside the hotel, à la cart breakfast was equally good and the service lady was friendly & spoke English, reception was good too everyone of them working in that space. The house keeping is most fantastic they refill coffee, tea and water and cleaned room thoroughly, no complaints, only downside is most places are just too dark perhaps it’s their culture, would be much better if some more lightings are welcomed in lobby’s and restaurant all in all a fine place to rest for a few days.
