"We stayed for 3 nights here and we are super happy throughout our stay. It meets our expectations for a chill holiday stays in Bangkok - the facilities are very new and the style is trendy; staffs are very friendly and help you with luggages from the the taxi to your room; room is really clean and spacious with a nice seating area; the breakfast is just amazing with a wide varieties of choices, including an a la carte dish and lots of buffet options. The hotel offered the guests with free drinks at their roof top bar every day from 5-6pm. We went back the other day to enjoy a lovely night with live band music there.
Location is conveniently located within walking proximity to the Chit Lom sky train station and Ratchadamri station ( you can actually walk through a gate at the back of the hotel to this station instead of taking a massive detour. Don’t follow google map.
Heaps of nice restaurants and shopping malls around the area.
The only less positive comments I’d give is that you need to prepare for either credit card or thai cash for the deposit, which we happened to have neither when we checked in.
Highly recommend to anyone who want to have an amazing stay in Bangkok."

To give some context, I was in Bangkok for a medical trip and was mainly looking for a hotel that was convenient in terms of location, with easy access to food and shops. Grand Hyatt Erawan delivered on all fronts. It’s perfectly located, and everything I needed was within reach.

Because of its central location, the hotel is bustling and lively – almost every room seemed occupied during my stay. While it may not be the quiet, secluded kind of 5-star hotel some might prefer, I personally loved the energy. The constant flow of guests and families made me feel safe and never alone, even when walking through the corridors late at night.
The breakfast buffet was a highlight – delicious and thoughtfully curated. I really appreciated that the chefs came out to greet guests and ask for feedback. It made the whole experience feel warm and communal, like everyone belonged there.
Service was also impeccable. The staff were responsive and attentive, and housekeeping was fast and efficient. I also loved that the ”Privacy Please” feature was connected to the front desk – the moment I deactivated it, my laundry was delivered right away. Little touches like this made a big difference.
Although I didn’t get to try the spa, pool, or gym myself, my partner did and raved about it every morning.
If I had to mention one downside, it would be the traffic – which is expected given the central location. Just make sure to plan your travel time, especially during peak hours.
All in all, I have nothing but good things to say about this hotel. I’ll definitely be back for my next visit. Thank you again for such a memorable stay!

EE HuangI can’t stop staying here! Yes, there are many new hotels popping up everywhere in Bkk, but this is still my favourite family hotel. Location is convenient and despite of wet weather, i am sheltered to everywhere up to Chit Lom. No complaints. Also, even though I didn’t get my super king bed this time round, they made up a sofa bed for my son. So i am absolutely pleased with their service and I will be back for sure

TTania salOh how dearly i loved the artistic room!!! It was beautiful spacious and comfortable! And i was offered free bar! Great service. Rood top was amazing with good food and wine! I ended up buying the Accor membership with the help of a lovely staff member Ban . He has served me twice so far with utmost professionalism and hospitality! Loved Sofitel!

I was charged a very reasonable discounted price, a lot of facilities included in room cost, swimming pool, steam, sauna, Gym, terrace relaxing area, free hourly shuttle boat to central pier, connecting to trains, and other boat services, 5 G WiFi, and room service staff very polite delivering fresh fruits every day, concierge staff very informative for local shops and attractions. TTuan HadiSomerset Sukhumvit 71 is a well-maintained property with a modern and clean design. The building and common areas are kept in excellent condition, giving a fresh and comfortable feel. The rooms are minimalist, spacious, and properly maintained, offering a cozy and stylish stay.
The facilities are excellent – the swimming pool is clean and relaxing, the gym is well-equipped, and the breakfast/lunch bar provides a good variety of food in a pleasant setting. Staff are professional, friendly, and communicate well in English, making the service smooth and welcoming.
In terms of location, it is a little less convenient as it is quite far from public transport. However, it’s easy to get a Grab or Bolt for transport. On the positive side, there are Muslim street shops nearby, which is a plus for guests looking for halal food options.
Overall, Somerset Sukhumvit 71 offers great comfort, service, and facilities, making it a solid choice despite being slightly away from main transport lines.

GGuest UserIt's a decent hotel to stay in Bangkok, away from the hustle of Sukhumvit area. It's clean, spacious and the service is nice. The staffs are very polite and gentle. The location is lovely, mix of local and expat. You have fruit seller in front of the alley and coffee shops are easy to find. It's very lay back quartier.

Rooms either face a main road or a Soi. My room was at the Soi side which hardly had any traffic noise.
The lead room was big by any standards. The design feels like home. Well appointed with all that you possibly might need. Huge and comfortable bed with nice plushy pillows! Would suggest to change the TV mount to the extensible and swivel kind.
Toilet is separate from the bathroom. Bathroom has separate tub/jacuzzi and standing area with wall fixed shower head. Good water pressure and adjustable temperature.
Breakfast is at first floor restaurant. Selection from different menu sets and good quantity. If hotel operating budget allows, would suggest to add a fruit selection as a complimentary add on.
There are a small pool besides breakfast area and also a small gym.
The staff - front desk, restaurant, housekeeping, technician - have all been on point and friendly all the time!
There are sign of age here and there but not the kind that irritates. Looking forward to the next refurbishment!

Our room had seen better days, as well as the hotel. The wood laminate floors were peeling, as were the cabinets. The drapes were way too long and looked unkempt. Even the lifts were worn and tired looking. We had a two bedroom suite, with an air conditioner in each main room. The first night both bedroom a/c units’ thermostats didn’t work and blasted cold air all night. To the hotel’s credit they were both promptly repaired the next day. The rooms were cleaned daily but I could tell some surfaces that we had set things on were not wiped down. I did observe one of the cleaning ladies and she was working quite hard, so perhaps she had too many rooms to clean.
Breakfast was ok, but unless you were there early many food items were stale, hard or cold. The staff in the dining room were nice, and quick with any request.
Overall the people there were outstanding, always helpful, kind and smiling. 5 stars for all the staff.
The location was good for us as we had a need to go to a nearby embassy, as well as Bumrungrad hospital for a check-up. Plus it was easy walking distance to the Chit Lom BTS station.
I understand this is an expensive area, and the room rates were competitive for that area. But I still felt the rates were a bit high for a facility that is in need of a major renovation.

RRattanawadee Na ButjomI only stayed for one night during my transit ✈️, but it was a very pleasant experience. The bed was soft and comfortable 🛏️, which made it perfect for a good rest after a long flight 😴. The room was clean 🧼 and the view from my window was beautiful 🌆.
Although I didn’t get to try the food or other facilities 🍽️, I would say this hotel is a great choice for anyone looking for a comfortable short stay ✅
