"This was our second stay at this hotel during our time in Bangkok, and that alone says a lot. We originally planned to stay only a few days, but felt comfortable enough to extend our stay for another week. What stood out most was how easy it was to settle into a routine here. The atmosphere feels relaxed, the property is well maintained, and everything worked smoothly throughout our stay. The staff were welcoming and consistently helpful whenever we needed assistance. We especially enjoyed spending time by the pool after busy days in the city, and appreciated having comfortable spaces where we could relax between sightseeing and work. The hotel offered a great balance between value, comfort, and convenience. The surrounding area has plenty of local food options, shops, and useful services, making longer stays very practical. Overall, this was a place we genuinely enjoyed returning to every evening, and extending our stay by an extra week turned out to be an easy decision. We would happily stay here again on a future trip to Bangkok!"

"Great location right by the Chao Phraya River, offering both pool and river views. The hotel has a direct access gate to ICONSIAM, and the path is well-lit by police lights, making it safe to walk. There's also a zebra crossing for easy access. The staff are very welcoming. They wait at the entrance to help with luggage, and are efficient with check-in and check-out, providing helpful information about the hotel's amenities, which include a fitness center, restaurants, a Lawson convenience store, nail salon, spa, and swimming pool. The breakfast offers a wide variety, including Thai, Chinese, Western, and Isaan dishes. The room for two was very comfortable."

"I have found this hotel few years ago, however we didn’t have a chance to stay there until now. I expected high standards of services and comfort of room and I can say that this hotel has definitely reached my expectations completely. It’s stylish, comfortable and rooms are spacious with everything what is needed for shorter or longer stay. We will definitely stay here again when we’ll stay for a night or two in Bangkok."

It was an unexpectedly amazing birthday experience! I had just booked a regular room, so I was genuinely surprised when the hotel staff wished me a happy birthday on check-in day. When I returned to my room, I found a birthday cake, fruit, and a handwritten greeting card waiting for me. The attention to detail was incredible and instantly warmed my heart! Being remembered in such a thoughtful way made this trip even more memorable. I have to give a huge thumbs-up to the hotel's service! The room was very spacious and bright, the bedding was exceptionally comfortable, and all the amenities were complete. The staff were polite and enthusiastic, and responded to requests very promptly. Overall, the stay was fantastic, and I genuinely recommend it!"

"Honestly, this hotel is an excellent choice for budget travelers. For around $25, I got a clean and comfortable room along with a good breakfast. The only downside is that the location is a bit far from the main attractions, but overall it offers great value for money"

During my recent stay, I was immediately struck by the hotel’s minimalist yet warm aesthetic. Nestled in a quiet alley just a 7-10 minute walk from the Ratchathewi BTS Station, it offers a peaceful retreat while keeping the bustling energy of Siam and Pratunam within easy reach. Comfortable Rooms & Exceptional Sleep The highlight of the room was undoubtedly the sleep quality. The mattress and pillows are exceptionally plush—often cited by guests as some of the most comfortable in Bangkok. My room was immaculately clean and thoughtfully designed with: • Smart TV for easy streaming. • Reliable, high-speed WiFi. • Daily housekeeping that maintained a high standard of hygiene. Seamless Service & Thoughtful Amenities The hospitality here feels genuine. The staff are incredibly accommodating, and the free electric tuk-tuk shuttle to the BTS station is a lifesaver in the Bangkok heat. Other appreciated touches included the 24/7 complimentary coffee/tea station in the lobby and the convenient luggage-weighing scale—perfect for those planning a shopping spree at nearby MBK or Platinum Fashion Mall. Location & Local Vibe While the hotel is in a ”slower” part of the district, stepping around the corner reveals a vibrant local scene. There are multiple 7-Elevens nearby and an abundance of affordable street food stalls and massage shops that provide a much more authentic experience than the typical tourist traps. Minor Considerations • Space: Like many boutique hotels in central Bangkok, the rooms (especially the Smart King) are cozy. If you have large suitcases, you might find it a bit tight. • Sound: Soundproofing could be improved, as noise from the hallway can occasionally drift into the room. Overall Verdict: With its stylish design, superb breakfast buffet, and top-tier service, VELA be Bangkok Ratchathewi offers incredible value for money. It is an ideal choice for travelers who want to be near the city center without sacrificing the quiet, local feel of a traditional neighborhood. I would certainly return for those pillows alone!"

"Lovely hotel, but there is massive construction happening on the street in front of the building. If you get a room at the back of the hotel, you won't hear it, but in other parts of the hotel, you can hear the jack hammers inside. It ruins the ambience and enjoyability of the area when there is scaffolding in front of the building and you can only access it by construction walkways, which also make it difficult to walk outside and cross roads. Also, the view from our room was of an air conditioning unit so the outlook was bad, back and front of the building. In terms of tourism, the location is great if your primary focus is temples, but if you want more excitement like shopping, bars and restaurants, I would recommend staying in a different area as it is fairly quiet around the hotel. We wound up taking taxis back and forth to other parts of the city for fun. The hotel is lovely, good value and the staff are friendly so no complaints there. We paid for the breakfast, the hot food was predominantly Asian like curries and meats which are a bit heavy in the morning especially in the heat, there was some Western items like French toast and pancakes, but they were dry and not the best. Again, the hotel was lovely - to be fair, the problems were the construction and the area lacked excitement for us - neither of those issues were the fault of the hotel itself."

"Very convenient location. At the foot of the Bayioke Tower. I booked this hotel specifically for shopping, and it's the best decision. Everything is within walking distance, from cheap junk and souvenirs to luxury shopping malls. Check-in was hassle-free, the staff explained everything and helped with the airport transfer. The metro is nearby. It's convenient that there are dishes and a kitchenette. Hot water and air conditioning are available. The furniture is old, but it serves its purpose, and it's a great value in a top location."

"My goal was to find a hotel close to the airport. It's just a 15 minutes ride by taxi. The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful. They have a convenient shuttle van service to the airport."

"The hotel is in a great location a few mins from a main train line with easy access to icon Siam and very easy to get onto the Sukhumvit line. It’s 2 mins to 7/11 and plenty of food places around. It’s down a quiet soi so it’s not noisy. The young lads behind reception are very good and help a lot if needed. The Lady needs to take note of them and learn to not be so cold and stern. Small rooms but very clean and functional."
