"Just enough time to unpack and return to our daily routines before writing these few words about our stay at the Lion Beach Resort. We felt the need to sincerely and affectionately thank all the resort staff, without exception, whose unique qualities made our vacation in Kenya truly "EXCLUSIVE." Gardeners, chefs, waiters, receptionists, cleaners, security staff, and others treated us with professionalism and expertise, but above all, with a smile and extraordinary courtesy and kindness. In this regard, we would like to highlight, as examples of this uncommonly welcoming atmosphere, a few people with whom we interacted not only on a daily basis but also on a pleasant personal level. Anthony was the first Lion staff member we had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know upon our arrival at the airport, where he was waiting to take us to the hotel. We immediately appreciated Anthony for his friendly and cordial manner, which put us at ease, avoiding the usual and boring welcome speeches. We also had the opportunity to confirm these excellent impressions during two excursions (led by Anthony himself), where we also discovered his talents as a historian and expert on the places we visited. A man of infinite resources, a true added value to the Resort, as he works with genuine passion because he loves what he does. Our conversations, which introduced us to his family and his aspirations, were unforgettable, and we wish him all the best. We thank Mrs. Marinella for her unwavering patience and constant availability (once we even disturbed her during lunch!). We also thank the chef, who, with his unmistakable baritone voice, explained the dishes he prepared each evening. A sort of talking menu to listen to, rather than read. An original way to savor the various dishes, even before putting them in your mouth. And last but not least, we thank animator Ci Bello Kenya for his incomparable kindness and rare humanity. We will always carry his story in our hearts and we root for his hopes to come true. THANK YOU!!"

"Wow! This is a place my wife and I would like to stay again, especially once the WiFi signal is stabilized and speeds optimized, which I was assured is being sorted out. This affected my room and is the only reason for the missing star. :( The staff is very responsive. Lydia, the receptionist, went above and beyond to cater to us. She is the undisputed anchor of the resort. The rest of the staff were friendly and always checked in whenever we passed by them. The rustic Italian architecture and ground landscaping transfers you to a different world and time. We made a few suggestions about room lighting to evoke a better ambience but that was just personal taste. Another guest might scoff at it! The pool is well maintained. We enjoyed several swims even though I'm nowhere near a master of the sport. Being the good swimmer that she is, my wife gave me some valuable lessons. Perhaps that's why I married her. :) The restaurant food quality was okay but there are some other options around like Ndoto Cafe, where we had some of the best chicken curry and local cuisines we've ever tasted in our lives. It's a hidden local gem, and only 2-minutes stroll away. Try it. GK Palms Resort anyone? Yes, please!!! Again? Yes and yes!!!"

"We had a great stay. The staff were very attentive and efficient when we had a bathroom issue. Good service, decent buffet. Spacious and clean room, sheets and towels changed daily, as was housekeeping. Breathtaking ocean view from our room. A big thank you to Alain for his warm welcome, advice, and availability. We also thank Bill, Bosco, and Elephant for their kindness, helpfulness, and the pleasant interactions we had with everyone. We have fond memories of this place. Highly recommended for those seeking peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of the entertainment scene. It had just what we needed."

"I even don know where to start, the experience was heavenly. Unfortunately we did not manage to stay at Hemingways Watamu but experienced Dinner and Breakfast. The service and Quality of Food was excellent, everything was on point thanks to Chef Knight, Chef Rose and Chef Benjamin whom we managed to Interact with not forgetting Julius the Restaurant manager. After the Breakfast and a warm sun kissing, with the help of Erastus, he managed to organize an afternoon Boat riding that we enjoyed the magical Snorkeling. The views from the clear water was magical, breath taking and relieving. Thanks to Festus and Simon who were our captain and guide and had lots of patience with us, especially my wife who fears lots of water. With such an experience and hospitality which Hemingways is known for, I will be tagging our other family friend to come for a family vacation soon and looking forward for another magical experience, Dhow Sunset and more. "Lovely hotel. We stayed here with a couple of friends for a couple of nights. The rooms were very clean. It was scorching hot, but the AC in the room worked well. The staff incl. management were verynice and helpful. We ate at the restaurant multiple times and the food was good. Good spot by the beach."

"Median Palms is one of those rare places that instantly slows your heartbeat the moment you arrive. Tucked into tranquil, beautifully curated surroundings, it feels like a private sanctuary where every detail has been designed to soothe, delight, and surprise. We stayed in the penthouse, and honestly, it was out of this world. The private plunge pool, the secluded sunbathing areas, the sweeping views, every inch felt like luxury woven with calm. Waking up there each morning felt like stepping into a dream you don’t want to end. The choice of pools across the property is fantastic, each offering its own mood and backdrop. And then there’s the beach bar, an absolute treat. Whether you’re grabbing a cold drink in the afternoon breeze or settling in for something delicious at sunset, it’s the kind of spot you remember long after you’ve left. The food throughout our stay was outstanding, full stop. What truly elevates Median Palms, though, is the staff. Every single person we met was warm, attentive, and genuinely committed to making our stay perfect. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and their kindness added a layer of magic to the whole experience. And of course, the beach. Just a few steps from the beach bar, the Indian Ocean opens up in front of you—breathtaking, serene, and impossibly"

"The structure is beautiful, typical I would say. Simple room, safe in the room small and for a fee. Wi-Fi only in some areas of the structure and for a fee, not very functional! Soft drinks poor choice, everything is paid extra. Good catering, dispensers with almost never fresh water. There are few sunbeds by the pool and it is customary to reserve them with a towel even if they are not used. The same goes for the beach. Excursions proposed by the structure are very expensive. On the positive side, the local staff is really kind and smiling, absent management, never introduced even upon the arrival of the guests"
