Yamagata Eki Nishiguchi Washington Hotel ★★★
"Fantastic! The location is super convenient, directly connected to Yamagata Station, making it incredibly easy to find. And the views are absolutely beautiful!!! The hotel is also very tall!!! One more thing: I left a pair of headphones and some souvenirs at the hotel, but only realized it after leaving Yamagata. The Trip.com customer service really went above and beyond, communicating with the hotel for two full days to help me out. The hotel was also incredibly kind and helpful in resolving the issue ˘̩̩̩ε˘̩ƪ 🥹🥹🥹🥹 I'll never forget this; I'm truly delighted."
Daiwa Roynet Hotel Yamagata Ekimae ★★★★
"Excellent location — close to the bullet train station and the Toyota car rental service. Absolutely loved the Yamagata beef shabu-shabu at the hotel restaurant — rich, tender, and beautifully prepared!"
Hotel New Mogamiya ★★
"Very satisfied, although the furnishings are a bit old, but it has a sense of age and is very clean. The Japanese breakfast is especially good. It changes every day."
Richmond Hotel Yamagata Ekimae ★★★★
"This hotel is super convenient, right outside Yamagata Station's west exit. The room layout was great, with plenty of storage space, which was perfect for all my luggage. The breakfast spread was delicious and varied. My only minor complaint is that the restaurant had a strong lingering smell. Every time I left, my clothes smelled like I'd just been cooking in a kitchen!"
Yamagata Kokusai Hotel ★★★
"I was very impressed with my stay at this hotel. The service was good, the rooms were clean, and the breakfast was varied. If I come back here again, I will definitely stay here again. Most importantly, there is a window with a view and the room is spacious and comfortable."
Hotel Metropolitan Yamagata ★★★★
"Just a great hotel to stay at if you are near Yamagata"
Yamagata Nanokamachi Washington Hotel ★★★
"Good location, room size is good and clean. Comfortable to stay."
Takamiya Hotel Lucent ★★★★
"The building is a bit old, so the private bath in the room had some issues. The public bath was decent, though. The spring water quality was excellent."
Yamagata Grand Hotel ★★★
"The room was clean and the location was good. I'll definitely be back to stay again! 😍😍😍"

Mogamitakayu Zenshichinoyu Ohira
"Comfortable and relatively inexpensive hotel. Although the premises are clearly not modern, everything is good, solid, nothing is broken. Gorgeous private free rotenburo. Dinner is very tasty, filling, varied. Free transfer to the bus station. Attentive staff. We are very pleased with our stay in this place. If we are ever lucky enough to get to Zao, we will gladly stay in this fabulous place again. Thank you very much!"
Hotel Crown Hills Yamagata
"Very close to JR , many shop around hotel. Overall is good , recommend to stays this hotel."
Super Hotel Yamagataeki Nishiguchi Natural Hot Springs
"The hotel is about 600 meters away from Yamagata Station (you have to go through the underground tunnel to get there). It is the only hotel near the station that has a hot spring pool. After checking in, there is a Welcome Bar next to the counter, which offers a wide range of coffee/beverages and alcoholic beverages. The room is small but has everything you need. There are also accommodation supplies on the first floor, with various types of pillows for you to use. There are also three sets of washing machines/dryers (each costs 100 yen), which is really convenient for long-term travelers! Although there are not many types of breakfast, the taste is very authentic. It is only served until 9 o'clock. After 8:30, there are fewer people eating, so some dishes (such as bread) are not replenished. It is recommended that guests take a seat early to enjoy."
Toyoko Inn Yamagata-eki Nishi-guchi
"This is a new hotel and the facilities themselves are beautiful. There was the usual Toyoko Inn elevator congestion, so I was glad I stayed on a higher floor this time (lol). Other than that, I have nothing to say 👌"
Takamiya Ryokan Miyamaso
"This accommodation, with a 300-year history, boasts excellent hot spring baths and offers a variety of breakfasts and dinners. It's also located near the Zao River."
BED'n ONSEN HAMMOND
"The room is large, suitable for families, and the location is close to the cable car station and restaurants. The hot springs are very good, both open-air and indoor. However, the hotel does not have a restaurant, but it is well-equipped."
Zao Kokusai Hotel
"The beef for the hotpot dinner was delicious, and the staff were incredibly enthusiastic. We also received complimentary welcome snacks."
Yoshidaya Ryokan
"Convenient location, suitable for skiing"
Gokan No Yu Tsuruya
"The hotel staff uses a translator to communicate, so verbal communication is no problem, and the arrangements are also very detailed. Meal times and free private bath reservation times are clearly listed on the paper. The hotel has a shuttle bus to Zao Ropeway Station, and we went there first. We went to the hotel after visiting Bingshu Plateau. Due to the heavy snow and heavy luggage, the coffee shop staff called the hotel car to pick us up, which was very nice. It is a nationally certified natural hot spring. It has a large bathhouse and a private hot spring (guests can use it once for free). It is a great experience. It is beautiful to soak in the open-air hot spring and watch the falling snow. But the hot spring floor is slippery and my sister slipped and hit her, so be careful when walking."
Hotels in Forest Waldberg
"Onsen water was irratating to skin, rooms were not sealed and had many bugs."
Ryuzanso
"This is a traditional Japanese inn, and the facilities can feel a bit old. The room is tatami style, but there is no air conditioning, only an electric fan. The men's hot spring area has only one pool and no scenery to enjoy."
Zao Plaza Hotel
"The inn has a nostalgic Japanese design, and as soon as you step in, you're transported to the atmosphere of the 80s and 90s. The hotel staff were very friendly, especially the servers during meals. The hotel boasts four different hot springs, both indoor and outdoor. The sulfur smell in the hot spring water confirms its authenticity. For dinner, we had sukiyaki with a generous platter of wagyu beef – the portion was very satisfying and the taste was absolutely superb. Overall, highly recommended!"
Yuuyu No Sato Yusa
"The overall environment is very good and the breakfast is delicious"
Takamiya Hotel Rurikura Resort
"The location is super convenient, just a 2-minute walk from Zao Onsen Ropeway Station. There's a ski rental shop about a 1-minute walk away. You can store your ski equipment in a specific locker in your room on the ground floor, or use the password-locked lockers in the lobby. Zao Bus Terminal is about a 7-minute walk. They even offer a free ride back to Zao Bus Terminal when you check out. For dinner, there are six delicious and beautifully presented options to choose from. A Lawson convenience store is about a 5-minute walk for evening snacks. The onsen (hot spring) is a good size, not too big, not too small. And since there weren't many guests, it was a very pleasant experience."
Kinosato
"Great Japanese hot spring hotel, all the staff are very friendly... The hotel accommodation and meals are perfect! The children have already booked to go skiing in Zao next year and stay in this hotel again!"
