Amazing
GGuest UserWe stayed over Christmas and it was lovely for the kids. They were welcomed with gift packs full of mini-games, not just the normal colouring papers and pencils. They also have a Christmas workshop set up way before Christmas. The room was very nicely decorated with ample of space for crafting and small table for some drinks. The only downside was that many things had been used up and not refilled as the workshop opened a few weeks before Christmas. They also served milk in the workshop room, but I had concerns that the milk was there from the morning for the whole day and that it was not kept chilled, which might not be good for the kids to consume. The receptionists were very friendly.
GGuest UserFacilities: A bit on the older side, but Canberra doesn't offer a vast selection of hotels anyway.
Location: Great location; most city attractions are just a few kilometers away.
Service: The front desk staff were very friendly and welcoming, and they handled any issues promptly.
Cleanliness: Acceptable.
MM57011****The room was well-appointed, and the bed incredibly comfortable. The location is absolutely ideal; it's just a two-minute walk to Lake Burley Griffin, and both the Old and New Parliament Houses are within easy walking distance. As it was autumn during my stay, the seasonal scenery was truly delightful. The service was exceptional, and I had a very enjoyable night here. My only minor point of concern was the rather noisy air conditioning. I was also a little confused as to why, for a king-sized room, only one toothbrush and one bathrobe were provided.
GGuest UserOur internet service wasn’t good / and shower had a little bit issues. The hotel solved it quickly . The hotel service is excellent. in the room it provide coffee machine / kettle - Italy good brand . Also I really like the shower gel / body lotion provided by the hotel - these all 5 stars hotel standard. It is highly recommended. The only thing I can criticize to the hotel is it should replace the shower head .
GGuest UserKinda old worldish but not too bad.Biggest pain was the fire alarm which went off on a freezing winter morning about 7:30 am.. This by all accounts is a regular occurrence and not rectified; set off apparently by some guy smoking; 20 minutes of ******** announcements before we found out from another traveler that it was a false alarm.
Management kinda smiked sheepishlyand did bugger all.
Bathroom in our room was tiny and toiletries had to be collected from the front desk. 🙄
Had to lug suitcases up and downnstairs and at the front entrance. Kinda lame.
Guy working the dining room though on the breakfast shift was a bit of a diamond. After an ‘odd’ comment he myst have noticed I was unimpressed with the fire alarm ******** and went out of his way. A bottle of birthday bubbly was a classy touch by him. I’d stay there again because of him.
GGuest UserCrown Plaza Hotel located near Canberra centre point and next to Glebe Park. It is very convenient for shopping and entertainment. The breakfast buffet offers generous food and drinks.

GGuest UserI recently stayed at Rydges Canberra and, overall, found the experience to be quite average. The hotel didn’t quite live up to my expectations — while it wasn’t bad, it also wasn’t particularly memorable.
The room itself was clean but pretty basic and somewhat dated, lacking the comfort or extra touches you'd hope for at this price point. One thing that stood out as a bit off-putting was the parking fee — $25 per night seemed steep, especially considering the overall value of the stay.
On a more positive note, the breakfast was definitely the highlight. The food was fresh, well-prepared, and offered a good variety — a great way to start the day.
In summary, Rydges Canberra was okay for a short stay, but it didn’t impress. I’d consider other options next time unless the breakfast alone is enough to bring me back.
GGuest UserAnything that could go wrong did go wrong!!! For a disabled room there was no power point near the bed. The only available power point in the room was in the bathroom. The air conditioning was manually powered and was positioned above the window so anyone in a wheelchair or that was short could not reach it. The only place to hang up your clothes was on the back of the bathroom door. The bathroom was quite large but when I went to put the towel on the hanger it came apart!!!! And the top of the toilet was broken. Then I opened the fridge and it looked like a soda can had exploded and nobody had cleaned it. When I informed the staff member he was very lovely, he came in and cleaned the fridge, gave me a power board and extension cord for the bed which did help. But then in the morning the young staff member on took an hour and half to bring a toasted sandwich to my room after saying it would only be 10mins. He had clearly forgotten about it. So after such a bad experience I asked for my money back!!!!
GGuest UserNot that clean. It's ok. TV doesn't connect even though it has an option to. Staff leave early and no phones to call reception. I didn't get a WiFi password I had to ask the lady next door because reception closed right after I checked in.
It's not too bad. All I needed was a bed and a bathroom but I can't say it was clean. It was just tidy, at least the sheets were clean. Carpet was definitely not. Also, blinds in bathroom are broken.
AACGBooked a 2 bedroom apartment for our stay in Canberra. The room came with a small living room, dining area and kitchen in addition to the 2 bedrooms. The room were well equipped and maintained. Recommend for families when staying in Canberra
