Amazing
DDGB365Canberra is a verdant landscaped city. While public transport is somewhat limited its small size and excellent walking pathways offer 5-10 minute walks to reach most major amenities or local shops and services. Hotel Realm is in the very central Barton district and a healthy walk to most major sites and museums, galleries and houses of parliament. Overall a good choice for both business and tourists.
QQingchunfangfoyinwoainikaishiHaha, this hotel definitely requires a bit of an adventurous spirit to stay at! It was built in 1926, so it's celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. In the lobby restaurant, there's a very old manual plug-in switchboard. The hotel's past life probably wasn't as a hotel; it gives off more of a government archives vibe đ. The room facilities are a bit dated, especially the carpet, but there's a certain echo of the 1950s. The bathroom is quite small, and the shower area, in particular, seems like it would be a squeeze for anyone a bit larger. Canberra gets really cold, so it was a thoughtful touch that the hotel provided extra blankets. Overall, I think you need to have a bit of a nostalgic appreciation to truly enjoy this kind of hotel. The service, however, was quite good.
GGuest UserRecently stayed at Hyatt Hotel Canberra and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The hotel strikes a great balance between old-world charm and modern comfort, with the heritage architecture giving the property a unique character that you simply do not get with many newer hotels.
The rooms were spacious, clean and well maintained, and the overall atmosphere throughout the hotel felt calm, professional and relaxing. Staff were welcoming, attentive and genuinely helpful from check-in through to departure, which made the stay seamless.
The location is also excellent, particularly for anyone travelling for business, government-related work or simply wanting easy access to Canberraâs key attractions and parliamentary precinct.
A standout was the buffet breakfast, which offered a strong variety and quality selection. Overall, a very comfortable and enjoyable stay and I would happily return when next visiting Canberra.
GGuest UserWe stayed for the Canberra Marathon Festival. The location was close to the main event area, and there is a cafe and a foodstore close by.
The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are comfortable. The area is quiet but there are a few restaurant's and bars along the lake about a 10-minute walk away. Uber's were always only a minute away. We had a great time seeing the sights, a lot of them are within walking distance from the hotel.
DDangniandetianzaixiaobing1. The location is great, right in the heart of Canberra city center, near Canberra Centre, making it convenient for both shopping and dining. There's a bus stop right downstairs, though it's a bit of a walk to the light rail station.
2. They offer triple rooms, which are perfect for families of three, and the price is reasonable. The per-person cost is quite acceptable for Australia.
3. The room was pretty clean, and the soundproofing was excellent, making it very quiet.
4. The front desk service was decent; they were willing to help with any issues. We were even allowed to check in early, before the official check-in time. However, you'll need some English proficiency, and occasionally the front desk staff isn't present.
5. The facilities are quite comprehensive, including a kitchen area and a fridge. But since the hotel has been open for a while, some of the in-room amenities show signs of age.
6. The windows don't open.
7. Slippers and toothbrushes aren't provided, and the shower gel and shampoo had a rather odd scent.
8. The duvet situation was still very strange: it's the kind where two sheets sandwich the duvet insert, which seems to be a common feature in Australian hotels.

Very Good
TToni9485Very clean, chic hotel with a popular restaurant and bar. It is conveniently located on Northbourne Avenue , Elouera St and Mort Street which is directly the line of Canberra's night clubs if you are coming on a weekend. There's only two sets of lifts for Hotel Clients which isn't a problem for an Asian ( moi) who is used to very crowded areas. But this can be a bit inconvenient for locals who are used to express service. Pool, gym, sauna. Major plus points. And the best part of all is the free bar fridge in the room. (Not sure if it was a promotion but my friend and I could drink all of what was offered for free!) We didnt because we are massive alcohol fans.
The only major downside is the 25 dollar parking fee. No, no no. You can raise the price a bit higher for the quality of rooms but it's a bit offputting to have that as an additional fee.
Overall, a pretty great experience from service to aminities.

WWenmenglCanberra is a beautiful city with virtually brand new streets and buildings. The bus station from Sydney to Canberra is right next to the Novotel, and it's just a few hundred meters walk to the Crowne Plaza. The hotel facilities are good, with a pool and gym. The room size is smaller than in China but larger than in Japan. The casino is right next to the hotel. I want to specifically talk about the service. When I arrived, they initially gave me a connecting room. Later, they switched me to a twin room. It made me feel like the front desk staff was a tour guide handling a** (rubbish/bad) tour group.

MMo WenThe overall experience at this hotel was quite good. The room size was decent, not cramped at all, and the facilities within the room were complete. The hotel's location felt both safe and quiet, ensuring a good night's sleep. The front desk staff were friendly and enthusiastic, always smiling when assisting with check-in or answering questions, which made me feel very welcome.
Kkhushi chandraOverall, our stay at Madison Apartments was pleasant once we finally got into the room. The apartment itself was spacious, clean, and well-equipped with everything we needed â from toiletries to kitchen essentials. The A/C wasnât working properly at the time, but it wasnât a big issue since the weather was cool.
However, the check-in process was extremely disappointing and frustrating. I had called ahead to ask if we could check in just 30 minutes early as I wasnât feeling well and needed to rest. Upon arriving around 1:35 pm, we were told the room wasnât ready, which I completely understood since the official check-in time was 2 pm. But when we came back at 2:40 pm, the room was âstill not readyâ. The receptionist asked us to wait another 30 minutes to an hour â we ended up waiting until almost 3:30 pm, and it was still not prepared.
It was honestly a terrible start to our stay â being sick, exhausted, and having nowhere to rest while continuously being told âjust a little longer.â The receptionist was kind and apologetic, but it was clear she wasnât getting any real updates from housekeeping. It felt disorganised and unprofessional for an apartment of this standard.
Breakfast was another letdown for $25 per person â very basic, with no hot food. Just bread, cereal, fruit in syrup, and some bakery items. The pancakes were the only saving grace. Coffee mix wasnât good either.
Once inside, though, the apartment itself made up for it â spacious, comfortable, and had everything you could need. Itâs a nice place overall, but the check-in process seriously needs improvement.
