PPairuiteerThe location and room were excellent, parking was convenient, and there was a third-party electric vehicle charging station down the road. The service was warm and attentive. The cleanliness and facilities were average. The bathroom walls, exposed to rain, showed signs of mold, which could be improved. The suite's spaciousness was its biggest selling point. I'd definitely choose this hotel again if I were to return to Canberra.

GGuest UserWe recently stayed at the Canberra Rex Hotel as a family of three, traveling from Sydney to celebrate the New Year. While there were some positive aspects, our overall experience was disappointing.
Starting with the positives, the reception staff were very nice and courteous, which we appreciated. We liked that it is very near a light rail station and quite close to parks, restaurants, and cafes.
The layout of the hotel posed challenges. Our room was quite far from the lifts, and with only two lifts positioned side by side in a corner of the building, accessibility was inconvenient. It seems the hotel design is to blame, as the lifts are not centrally located like in most hotels.
One of the biggest letdowns was the pool. We specifically chose this hotel for its pool, hoping our little one could enjoy it. Unfortunately, the pool heater was not working, and the water was freezing cold. To make matters worse, we noticed some bugs in the pool, which was unsettling. The staff wouldnât have known the heater wasnât working if we hadnât informed them. It felt like the pool's maintenance and condition were overlooked, which was a major disappointment for us. Had we known that we won't be able to enjoy the pool, we would've settled in a hotel that is far more affordable.
As compensation for the pool issue, we requested and were granted a late check-out, which was a kind gesture from the hotel. However, it didnât feel adequate given the inconvenience and disappointment we experienced.
Additionally, the King Suite we stayed in had some practical flaws. It only had one bin, which was insufficient for a family of three, as it filled up quickly. Another inconvenience was the shower area, which didnât have any shelves. This meant we had to place shampoo and conditioner bottles on the floor while showering, which was far from ideal.
Overall, while the reception staffâs service was commendable, the hotel fell short in terms of facilities and maintenance. I hope the management takes these points into consideration for future guests.

JJiaNew modern hotel in a good location. Can be a bit quiet on the weekend. Cleaning could have been done better as we found a used tooth brush in the bathroom on checking in on the first night. The hair dryer is the weakest that I have ever seen. Other than those points, everything else is good.

YYingXuanLHyatt Hotel is located beside Lake Burley Griffin. Easy to reach by car but seems like there is not much public transport nearby. We rented a car for our trip in Canberra so accessibility wasnât an issue for us. Hotel parking was AUD30 in their underground carpark. They recommended for us to park on the street parking. Paid parking for daytime from 8.30am. Parking overnight was free. Popular landmarks of Canberra was within minutes drive from the hotel. Snapper & Co. restaurant was 5 minutes drive from the hotel and they serve great fish and chips! From the exterior of the hotel, you could tell that the hotel is of a certain age. But the interior was grand and nice!
The room was spacious and clean! Was surprised to see Le Labo amenities! Bath salt was also provided. Had 2 other rooms on a different booking, and they managed to allocate rooms side by side. By far the best hotel I have ever stayed in!

GGuest UserKinda old worldish but not too bad.Biggest pain was the fire alarm which went off on a freezing winter morning about 7:30 am.. This by all accounts is a regular occurrence and not rectified; set off apparently by some guy smoking; 20 minutes of ******** announcements before we found out from another traveler that it was a false alarm.Â
Management kinda smiked sheepishlyand did bugger all.
Bathroom in our room was tiny and toiletries had to be collected from the front desk. đ
Had to lug suitcases up and downnstairs and at the front entrance. Kinda lame.
Guy working the dining room though on the breakfast shift was a bit of a diamond. After an âoddâ comment he myst have noticed I was unimpressed with the fire alarm ******** and went out of his way. A bottle of birthday bubbly was a classy touch by him. Iâd stay there again because of him.

GGuest UserI booked a two-bedroom apartment. The room is large and spacious. The view of the hall is mountain view, very beautiful. Once inside the hall is the bar, the lights are dim, the music is delicious, the western food is there, the hotel is very big, the bar is just a few, there is also a movie theater. The decorations are all wood strips, I can't understand them, I feel special art. Both bedrooms have no windows and are just a bathroom. There are many kitchen utensils and many tableware. Breakfast is the kind of order. Very close to the city center, a quiet hotel. More than 2,000 a night, the front desk will not be Chinese, it is a hotel for foreigners. Canberra has a beautiful view and is especially suitable for living.

GGuest UserIbis Budget Canberra is at a distance of some 7 km from the city centre which is quite remote and not easily accessible, especially at night time. On the other hand, Ibis Budget room charge is quite competitive and is ideal for travelers who have limited budgets. The concierges are polite and helpful and help make your stay very pleasant.

GGuest UserNot that clean. It's ok. TV doesn't connect even though it has an option to. Staff leave early and no phones to call reception. I didn't get a WiFi password I had to ask the lady next door because reception closed right after I checked in.
It's not too bad. All I needed was a bed and a bathroom but I can't say it was clean. It was just tidy, at least the sheets were clean. Carpet was definitely not. Also, blinds in bathroom are broken.
