"Very good hotel. Everything is perfect, by the notable exception of the breakfast. You have to make the line, to wait to be seated like it's a nightclub. Arriving at the restaurant, you will wait 20 minutes to have your morning coffee. Another issue with the breakfast is that it is super expensive. I paid 22 AUD (more than 12 euros) for a plate with one waffle... Also paid a super high price for a plate of fruits... Everything else is perfect. Hotel is beautiful, quiet, well located and the persons working at the reception are great! Polite, nice and ready to help!"

"There is construction going on next door, accessing the hotel entrance is bit of chore, although facilities is good ,we didn't get the to eat there. $20 per night for parking ie $60 in total for 3 nights is not bad. Everything else is alright."

"This hostel was clean, modern, centrally located and an all round great value stay. I’ll be staying here again for sure. The only issue I had was that the hot water in the shower runs out quickly. Having a room key via an app was super handy, no more stressing about wiping a key card by keeping it in the same pocket as my phone!!"

"Don't choose this hotel for family trips. It's the largest room type, but it's still unsatisfactory. The hotel faces the road on three sides, which is very noisy. In the morning, trees were chopped across the street. You can sleep directly on the construction site. There are spider webs in the room and black dirt in the bathroom. I changed hotels immediately on the second night!"

"Overall, our stay at Madison Apartments was pleasant once we finally got into the room. The apartment itself was spacious, clean, and well-equipped with everything we needed — from toiletries to kitchen essentials. The A/C wasn’t working properly at the time, but it wasn’t a big issue since the weather was cool. However, the check-in process was extremely disappointing and frustrating. I had called ahead to ask if we could check in just 30 minutes early as I wasn’t feeling well and needed to rest. Upon arriving around 1:35 pm, we were told the room wasn’t ready, which I completely understood since the official check-in time was 2 pm. But when we came back at 2:40 pm, the room was ”still not ready”. The receptionist asked us to wait another 30 minutes to an hour — we ended up waiting until almost 3:30 pm, and it was still not prepared. It was honestly a terrible start to our stay — being sick, exhausted, and having nowhere to rest while continuously being told “just a little longer.” The receptionist was kind and apologetic, but it was clear she wasn’t getting any real updates from housekeeping. It felt disorganised and unprofessional for an apartment of this standard. Breakfast was another letdown for $25 per person — very basic, with no hot food. Just bread, cereal, fruit in syrup, and some bakery items. The pancakes were the only saving grace. Coffee mix wasn’t good either. Once inside, though, the apartment itself made up for it — spacious, comfortable, and had everything you could need. It’s a nice place overall, but the check-in process seriously needs improvement."

"I recently stayed at Rydges Canberra and, overall, found the experience to be quite average. The hotel didn’t quite live up to my expectations — while it wasn’t bad, it also wasn’t particularly memorable. The room itself was clean but pretty basic and somewhat dated, lacking the comfort or extra touches you'd hope for at this price point. One thing that stood out as a bit off-putting was the parking fee — $25 per night seemed steep, especially considering the overall value of the stay. On a more positive note, the breakfast was definitely the highlight. The food was fresh, well-prepared, and offered a good variety — a great way to start the day. In summary, Rydges Canberra was okay for a short stay, but it didn’t impress. I’d consider other options next time unless the breakfast alone is enough to bring me back."

"The room is small but well equipped. The bed is comfy. The public area is nice.  The library provides with free cold and sparkling water. It is so easy to bottle up the water before I head out for the day.  They also have a microwave and coffee machine. They provide complimentary apples which are crunchy and sweet. The $6 muffin is also good.  The neighbourhood is mostly government offices. The e Parliament House is in walking distance. However, it takes 10 minutes to walk to the nearest supermarket. "I was hopeful of a hassle free break with my children only to be met with ridiculous parking conditions, difficult to find, almost impossible to manourver a reasonable sized car in, offsite parking and walking in the dark in an unfamiliar city with children from offsite parking to Motel. The swipe card had to be reset after many trips back to the lobby, lifts were extremely slow. The breakfast was a redeeming feature but not enough for me to want to book again. Not the relaxing stay we had in mind"
