TeriyakiThe hotel used to be a private mansion with every detail. The hotel is facing Lake Rotorua, the room has a wide view, five minutes drive from the skyline and ten minutes from the downtown. The hotel has its own paddock, where horses and sheep graze leisurely on the slopes. Breakfast can be cooked to order, and the lamb in the kiwi breakfast is very good. It was very comfortable to take a walk in the courtyard after eating breakfast. The hotel staff was warm and considerate. Some regrets were that because of the self-service on the skyline, I didn't try the dinner at the hotel. I have a chance to try it next time. There is a study room on the second floor of the hotel. There is a 200-page world map on the table. It has been turned over and confirmed that there is no less in China.

Our stay at the Black Swan Hotel was truly amazing. Originally, we were booked at the Hana Lodge, but due to renovations, we were moved to their sister property in the heart of Rotorua. Despite the change, we were pleasantly surprised by the excellent service.
The room amenities were incredible. We had a free mini bar that was replenished daily, a large, comfortable bed, and breathtaking views of the lakes. The room was exceptionally clean, and all the staff members were incredibly helpful and courteous.
The breakfast served from 7 am was delicious! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Rotorua.

I was initially given a ground-floor room, but I wanted to switch to a second-floor one. The second-floor room had three beds and cost an extra 20 yuan. The front desk staff kindly showed me the room, and it was great, so I made the switch. The room isn't huge but it's very clean and comes with a fridge and a kettle. The hotel's location is convenient; you can walk to both a 'green' supermarket and a 'yellow' supermarket nearby, and there's a gas station right across the street. The 'yellow' supermarket has the cheapest chocolate at 5.9 yuan a bag – definitely the best deal! The hotel breakfast is simple, just bread and milk, etc., not very filling. But that's pretty standard for a 'white people's breakfast' anyway.

Guest UserThis hotel is by far the best hotel we stayed in during our trip to New Zealand! My wife and I stayed here during our elopement and the staff could not have been more accommodating for us. They had my wedding suit pressed and cleaned within a day and on the day of our wedding we had our wedding flowers delivered to the front desk and they delivered them to our room.
The hotel is very beautiful on the outside and even more impressive inside, our room was massive, very clean and well presented. We had a delicious meal in the restaurant inside the hotel and we still talk about how good every course was (especially the dessert).
I would like to say that every member of the hotel team that we interacted with during our stay were so friendly and helpful and after our wedding they all made an effort to come and congratulate us which really ment a lot to us.
The hotel is situated right next to the beautiful Government gardens which is a beautiful park and a few minutes walk down the road is an amazing array of delicious restaurants.

kvcvyThe hotel's location is excellent; it's right across from Huang Chao supermarket, close to the lake, and conveniently near the famous hot springs, making everything easily accessible on foot. Although the rooms are a bit old, the bed is large and, refreshingly, just the right firmness. For the price, it offers great value for money. The only downsides are that rooms on the second floor require you to carry your luggage up the stairs as there's no elevator, and for some reason, the heating in my room wasn't working, making it a bit cold at night.

elf777The location is fantastic, with both the food street and the lake just a 5-minute walk away. The front desk staff were really nice; even though the hotel was fully booked, they managed to find us a satisfying room on a higher floor. The hotel has a hot spring bath, which wasn't too crowded and was open until 11 PM. The only downside is that the changing room is a bit small and basic. The complimentary milk in the room was delicious, but breakfast was just so-so.

PhiL.PThis is a great hotel. The room facilities are very new and clean. Although the window cannot be opened, you can directly see Lake Rotorua. The hotel's location is very close to the city center, and you can reach Rotorua's food street just around the corner.
However, I have a love-hate relationship with the hotel's laundry room. Both the washing machine and dryer are free to use, and detergent is automatically dispensed, making it very convenient with one-button operation. But later in my trip, I developed contact dermatitis, or a skin allergy. The doctor said it was likely caused by wearing clothes with detergent residue after soaking in hot springs. While it's not the hotel's fault, I still recommend rinsing clothes a few extra times if you use the hotel laundry, if you have the time.

SongyouxiongTraveling to Rotorua with my parents and child this time, staying at Rydges was definitely the warmest highlight of our entire trip! The front desk staff were incredibly welcoming and professional. When they noticed we had elderly family members and a young child, they thoughtfully upgraded our room for free! The upgraded room was very spacious, making it easy for my parents to move around, and giving my child plenty of space to play. The beds were super comfortable. The best part was the hotel's geothermal heated pool/hot springs. After a day of activities, taking the whole family for a dip washed away my parents' aches and pains, and my child absolutely loved playing in the water. Many thanks to the Rydges Rotorua team for their high level of hospitality and human touch. Next time we visit Rotorua, we will definitely choose to stay here again!

I stayed at this hotel recently. The location is excellent — very convenient and close to transportation and restaurants. However, the breakfast buffet was just average, nothing special. Also, the room wasn’t as clean as I expected; it could have been better maintained. Overall, it’s a convenient place to stay if location is your main priority, but the cleanliness and breakfast quality could use some improvement.

I think this hotel was great value for the price we paid. It's literally a 10-15 minute walk from the Te Puia cultural center, which is the reason we fly into Rotorua for the day. 15-minute Uber ride from the airport and back, easy in and out.
Another benefit was the room size. I was able to get a one bedroom so my husband could get some work done while I relaxed in the adjoining room. Wifi was good enough for what we needed it for.
The included breakfast was... Meh. Quite lackluster. Probably one of the lesser quality breakfast buffets we've had in a while... But I wasn't expecting anything spectacular though. The place has older vibes with a stench in the air. I'm not sure if it was a sewage problem, or maybe it was wafting over from the geysers? But either way it wasn't pleasant.
