"We had a great time at the Carlsbad Sheraton for my birthday staycation! I loved Taryn, the front desk gal; she was helpful and friendly. Taryn  allowed my friend to decorate a few lounge chairs at the pool before I arrived for my surprise birthday. Most places wouldn’t have allowed that, and I was very appreciative.  The beds were comfortable, and the rooms were roomy. Unfortunately, some noisy people were above us for half the night. Thankfully, security asked him to shut up, and at check-out, Taryn waved my resort fee and sincerely apologized. I almost forgot to mention the lovely restaurant and Café at the poolside. I ordered myself a cup of coffee, and the barista made me a complimentary chai tea latte for my birthday. I look forward to Coming back for another day of vacation "

"The overall environment is nice, but the rooms and service are just average. Definitely do not book breakfast or eat at the hotel restaurant. Not only is the food mediocre, but the service is also terrible—practically nonexistent. You'll be completely ignored by all the staff while you're in the restaurant. If you absolutely must go, refuse to tip."
