I had earlier planned to stay at another hotel but on a waiting list by hotel Tokyu . A gentleman by The. Name of Yoshida wrote to me explaining very carefully all I needed to know about the hotel and that they now can house me . Very polite very helpful . They didn’t ask for a deposit which I’m not sure is the correct protocol but since they offered trust , I also decided to trust them and accept the offer . While there every one of the staff were there to help , and there was a half jap / English chap who also guided me with tips to where to visit et al. These made up for us being a little further off the centre of things . The bus shuttle for the ski slopes schedule by the resort was adequate although I would wish it to be more frequent . We walked most of the time to the nearby Happo village area for foods. In the first day snow was sparing , but the coming days that all change and what a pretty site . Getting meals was tough , u need to beeok a day ahead at least , and usually only two slots 1730 or 1930 . We adjusted ourselves . The hotel itself is well maintained, has its charm , and breakfast was excellent . I don’t understand the fuss on Google reviews saying they were all the same . It’s a buffet , of course it has to be . Anyway all in all despite being further away from centre , think it is still an excellent hotel with impeccable and hardworking staff making sure all went well . Thank you Tokyu

We stayed here for 2 nights in July. The hotel and rooms are clean and comfortable. The lack of vegetarian / vegan food options was disappointing considering this is a Marriott Hotel. The resteraunt may not be theirs, but still expected better. The staff were very helpful, although the hotel shuttle to drop us to the station was only available for a 30 minute timeslot in the morning. Strange, but not a problem. Location is good, still has a feel that it could be a lot better by just making small improvements. Its the details that matter, at least that is why we booked Marriott. Still, we would stay here again (and maybe bring our own food).

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Sierra Resort, Hakuba when we visited in February. The hotel itself is beautiful, well maintained and offers a lot to its visitors. The hotel is set outside of the main town in it's own little secluded area. This can be a plus and minus - Positive because the resort is so beautiful and away from the hustle and bustle, negative as it can at times be difficult to access transport to and from town (restaurants, bars, ski fields, etc). The hotel offers a shuttle bus in the evenings to take you into town, although you need to book in there and back, which can be restrictive of your time at dinner, etc as you have to decide on a return time. The shuttle bus doesn't stop near all restaurants, so you could be walking in the dark/cold to your reservation and then waiting in the cold for the return bus. Keep this in mind - a lot of the time we found it more convenient to order a taxi, although these can be hard to come by and expensive! The Ski shuttle bus picks up/drops off at the hotel each day. Buses are busy and there are no racks for ski/board gear - you need to carry everything onto the bus with you, which can be very squishy as the buses get quite full. We found Tsugaike to be the closest and most convenient ski field to the hotel. The staff at the hotel were always very friendly and helpful. Language barriers existed, although staff would always ensure they had assisted you by the end of the conversation, you just have to allow a little more time in your schedule to organise and make your plans. This also allowed us time to learn some simple Japanese which assisted us when communicating with the staff. Sierra Hotel offers complimentary food at different times throughout the day, served in the main lobby area - curries, rice, soup, etc. This is so convenient when you get back from the ski fields and just want a small bite to eat before dinner. Hotel also offers complimentary wine, tea and ice creams. Breakfast - great selection of Japanese and Western food. We thoroughly enjoyed breakfast each morning. There were always new things to try each day - eg: different soups (pumpkin, corn), also beautiful views outside. Dinner - we had dinner at the hotel one night from the A La Carte menu. Also thoroughly enjoyed our meals (Pasta, calamari, soup, fries, etc). Rooms were big, very comfortable and warm with special heating. Beautiful views of the snow and areas around the hotel. Our favourite part of the resort was the beautiful public and private onsens made up of pure mineral water. The private onsens need to be booked in ahead of time which the hotel allows each morning - you will need to be quick to make a booking. We would definitely recommend Hotel Sierra Resort and would stay here again. Thank you to the staff for an enjoyable stay! :)

Service and hygiene have always been of Japanese standard. The brother at the front desk is still driving in the snow and we go to the convenience store to buy things. Location, 5 minutes to Wulong Snow Resort, it was an excellent location. But what needs to be done is the big environment. Because I used to go to Niseko, Hokkaido, there are very convenient restaurants, shopping, and convenience stores nearby. But Baima Wulong is very barren here. It takes 10 minutes to walk to the nearest restaurant, which is very unsuitable. Of course, this hotel has nothing to do with itself

I stayed on a tour of a travel agency that is good at skiing called JamJam Tour. I think the hotel is mainly open to skiing and boarding customers in winter. In the summer, Trapix and club tourism groups are also accepted. This time, I stayed at the same inn with a tour of two large buses for both nights, but I didn't meet anyone in the hot springs or in the lobby, and I was only with them when I was eating. It was good that the hot springs were reserved and always put in. It's small, but there is an open-air bath, but there is no sauna. The room was a twin room, but there is a sofa in the back and it is large enough. Maybe in winter, the sofa can be made into a sofa bed and can be triple. I could see Kashima spear from the room, but there are many trees 々 around, so there is no good view nearby. Also, it is near the jumping platform in the back of the Hakuba villa, so you can't go to the convenience store by walking. I didn't expect a meal because it was a cheap tour, but it was delicious enough. The restaurant was served by foreign staff, but it was a pleasant response.

This time I stayed in the newly renovated new wing of the hotel. The room was very comfortable, beautiful and hygienic. The view outside the room was very beautiful. The staff were also very enthusiastic. In addition, free drinks and noodles were provided after taking a bath. I will definitely choose it again next time. here

It is a bright and clean hotel. There is a feeling of home called inn rather than a hotel. It was convenient except that there was a makeup drop and makeup water in the bath. I chose the time zone of the meal at check-in and put it into the restaurant, so it was smooth without congestion. It was a Viking in the morning and evening, but there were many items, and every dish was replenished immediately and always ”full”. Even if the meal is delicious, the satisfaction increases. I used the store 5% off ticket on my return and made sweet sake and gohei Mochi souvenirs.

The breakfast is very good and dinner can also be settled at the hotel. With the child 7 years old, you can live in the twin room, but the site has added extra money. When you place the order, you can't say clearly that you want to add it. It is very dissatisfied. In addition, I don't know if I have already deducted a previous fee for the previous order. The site paid the full amount anyway, and the credit card bill came out and checked. The location of the hotel is on the edge of the village, but the village is not big, but instead it is close to the high road, and it is very quick to go out from a road in the snow. The spa bathroom is very comfortable with large pools and outdoor pools. Ski can be placed in the basement, snowshoes, coin-operated clothes.

What an awesome experience! The hotel offered exemplary service before we even arrived. Due to special travel arrangements, we arrived late and the staff quick to arrange an in-room bento dinner for us before our arrival. When we got there, we were immediately blown away by the gorgeousness of the hotel.
Despite its age, everything was very clean and polished. I can see that great care had been taken to upkeep the hotel and it’s premises, which are extraordinarily beautiful. We couldn’t resist taking pictures even after check-out, and it took us an hour to finally reluctantly leave. Words cannot actually do the place justice, you must visit there yourself.
We were very impressed with how delicious the food was, and the attention to detail, including the placement of the food, the coordination of food color. My mouth is still watering as I recall how delicious it was. I had 10 helpings of their prime rib one day. Besides, I had a dietary restriction and the staff were really careful with that, to the extent of reminding me what dishes not to eat everyday at their breakfast and dinner buffet.
In addition to excellent food and service, the hotel went out of its way to be very eco-friendly. For every day that we did not need our room to be tidied, we earned points, which can be traded in for ice cream or other goodies.
Finally, the staff spoke perfect English. This is rare indeed, and it made everything so much easier and so much more enjoyable. Thanks for the experience!

Outstanding
SSmall ghost666The hotel is small and the facilities are good. There is a twin bed. Hot spring. Open-air. The location is less than ten minutes from the station. There are no convenience stores and restaurants nearby. If you check in, please order early.
The hotel proprietress is very good. Remind us that there will be enough teams to stay today. It is best to avoid the hot springs during busy hours. We forgot something and emailed them to send them back. They all promised to help.
GGuest UserThe good thing is that the hot spring water, especially the open-air bath, was smooth and the quality was better than I expected. Also, although there were no special dishes for both dinner and breakfast, they were all delicious and I enjoyed them all. The other issue was that the walls separating the rooms were thin, and I could hear the music from the next room, making it difficult to sleep. Also, although the open-air bath closed at 24:00, the quality of the spring water was so pleasant that I wanted to take a bath in the morning. The late breakfast start time of 7:30 was also a bit inconvenient for hiking. However, overall, the host (husband and wife?) have worked hard to maintain a high value for money, and we can recommend it.
Went there over the weekend for a ski trip with the boys.. The newly refurbished hotel was neat, with slick designs and a super relaxing bar area. The restaurant serving a wide selection of breakfasts was a great way to kick off the day. The rooms are very nice and spacious that are also very functional in the layout.. The Hotel is ideally located right in the center of town. Overall the best thing i liked was the friendly ,professional service of the staff. and i would have to say the in house Onsen! Highly recommend The Happo to any one thinking of going to Hakuba. Looking forward to my next visit.
GGuest UserYamano Hotel is the ultimate ski chalet in Hakuba. It's situated right across from the 1986 Olympic ski jump and just a short stroll to the Happo-One chair lift. It could even be considered a ski-in and ski-out chalet. The rooms are big and comfortable with gorgeous views of the mountains and the valley. This hotel is a family-owned and run business. The owners Mr. Keita and his wife Monica will greet you from the time you get off the bus to the time you enter the hotel parking area. Mr. Keita is an incredible concierge, always attending to any of your needs and willing to assist you with any information. He also provides a free shuttle to the lift, and if you're tired at the end of the day you can call him and he will be happy to come pick you up, even though it's a short distance. For the additional ski resorts, he is happy to make a reservation for the free morning shuttle. They will pick you up right at the parking lot of the hotel and will drop you off at the same place. So you have easy access to the 7 resorts in the Hakuba Valley right from his doorstep. Once you return from your day in the mountain, you can walk straight into a very spacious heated ski room where you can put your boards and skis on a special rack, warm your boots, gloves, ski pants and jacket so all will be ready to go the next morning. After leaving your stuff in the warm room, you can either step across the hall to enjoy their beautiful onsen inside the chalet that has a hot mineral bath, a cold mountain water plunge bath, and a fantastic wooden and hot rock sauna. An additional perk is the two massage chairs in the laundry area that you can enjoy for free. After relaxing in the Onsen and/or massage chair, you can go back to your comfortable and spacious room and relax until you're ready to have dinner at his restaurant at 6pm. And if you choose to go to other restaurants, several of them are just 5-10 minutes walk away, or there are shuttle buses you can take. The hotel also includes a delicious and abundant breakfast buffet that includes traditional Japanese breakfast of miso soup, fermented beans, Japanese rice and more; traditional American breakfast with several types of eggs, bacon, potatoes, and sausage; and traditional Continental breakfast including orange juice, freshly made apple juice, cereals, pastries, and fresh fruit. To summarize our stay at Yamano Hotel, Mr. Keita and his wife Monica made us feel at home and part of their family. That's how well they treat you. This will definitely be the place we stay next time we come to Hakuba.
