Good location near lots of downtown activities. Great coffee shop on the first floor. Rooms are clean. I've stayed at this property dozens of times, and particularly, the shower fixtures need maintenance. The front desk is understaffed but friendly. The general manager is not, and the property suffers from uneven management. I never know which experience it's going to be trip to trip. Unfortunately, it is the closest Hilton to my destination, so I've put up with the inconsistency. As a Diamond member in Honors, I stay in a wide variety of places. This property has a lot of unrealized potential - it could be a 4 or 5 but falls short.

My partner and I stayed here for a conference. Our stay was excellent. The staff was very nice, the rooms were clean and the Hotel in general was above what we expected. Breakfast was very nice, the attendant even got us fresh coffee. He said the coffee that was there had been there for a hour. Will stay again.

This was my first time at The Residence Inn/The Phelps and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. My room was clean and fresh and had a lovely view of the Great American tower. Excellent service from all I encountered; Kat, Kathleen Styers, Mikayla Austin and Frances Lawton. Also, the valet (unfortunately I do not know his name) was friendly and attentive. Looking forward to returning here in the future.

BEWARE. Came out to the parking lot this morning to see FIVE cars near ours with shattered windows. They had all been broken into overnight. Signs all over the parking lot caution to park at your own risk, however the area feels safe and has lots of restaurants & shopping stores in adjacent parking lot. The signs made us feel uneasy but we still never expected to see all the broken windows. They were all very nice cars too. Such a shame. We were in from out of town to visit Xavier University which is just a 7 min drive from the hotel. Sadly, this greatly affected our impression of the area. We felt absolutely terrible for the one guy we saw, trying to clean up all the broken glass in his truck. We did not see a single employee at the hotel doing anything to help with the situation. Obviously, they are aware this is a problem. Also, they charge $5 to park overnight, yet provide NO security whatsoever in the parking lot. They should be using that money to hire an overnight security guard so guests don't have to deal with broken car windows!

STAY AWAY! Unfortunately, I had a terrible experience at this hotel. Was in town 8/21-8/24 for the Green Day concert. My hotel experience almost ruined the whole trip. First, bait 'n' switch. Booked online was shown photos of a one bedroom suite. Thought that's what was in my cart when I checked out. Nope, got there and it was one room, tiny with a tiny and uncomfortable sofa that never got pulled out so idk if it was really a bed or not. I was with a Platonic friend and the room was not going to work. She had to get her own room essentially doubling the cost of the trip. Front desk agent Angelo was rude and surly when told our room was not as pictured and unacceptable. All he would say is that's what you booked so nothing we can do. He smirked the whole time, told me my only option was to go back upstairs and accept the room and told me and my friend he is ”unhinged.” My friend said she did not feel safe in the hotel with someone with room access admitting to being mentally unstable and the way he treated us proved it. Next day manager Aimee offered me $20 in cash to ”buy me lunch” for my trouble (room issue still not actually resolved). I declined that offer because it felt like an insult and Idk if she had the power to just take money out of the drawer and give it to a guest...? I feared she may later accuse me of stealing or something she was so sketch. Her eye was twitching as she insisted she couldn't do anything more because their front desk camera does not include audio so she couldn't verify my account of the events from the previous night. Last thing parking. After self-parking I get emailed a bill for valet. Went downstairs at 5 a.m. Saturday morning to inquire about the parking bill. I really wanted to check out but the valet couldn't straighten out my bill because it is technically a different company and Angelo was back at the desk and I was afraid of him so nothing to do but go back upstairs and wait til 7 when he gets off. I am scared in this hotel. I do not feel safe because I have not been treated like a guest - a paying customer - and now I cannot check out when I want. I am hoping someone will remove the erroneous charge off my bill and not randomly offer me $20 to go away or idk spit in my face or something. Either feels possible. Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. The slightly lower price is not worth what they will put you through. Stay somewhere decent that will treat you like a customer and not like a vagabond whom they're doing a favor by letting you pay them to stay at their very much sub-par property.

Really clean and great hotel. Staff was really nice. I was treated like a true Hilton honors member not one thing out of place in the room. Would highly recommend. I was having an issue with my luggage and couldn’t quite pull it to the elevator so a very nice lady at the front desk helped me bring my things to the elevator and it’s so nice to know that there are great workers out there still. Unfortunately, I forget her name

Craziest Worst Hotel Experience In summary don’t stay at Homewood suites Midtown Cincinnati!!! They may screw up your reservation, let strangers in your room, rebook you but forget to tell you it’s not for the whole stay you were expecting, enter your room and touch your belongings, throw out some of your stuff, shove your stuff in a cart and essentially evict you due to an error on their part. I booked a five night stay at the Homewood Suites In Midtown in Cincinnati a week before my business trip and had a confirmation email. I checked in on Sunday evening with no issue. Monday after a long work day, I returned to the hotel, my key card did not work and there was a stranger in my room watching tv. Totally unsettling seeing that I was a woman by myself and the man in my room who could have went through my stuff or touched my underwear and toothbrush. We went down to front desk to figure it out with an employee. It was determined my reservation was marked as a “no show” in error. The front desk clerk got the man another room and she made me a new reservation so I could keep my original room. The employee said she would tell billing to give me 50k points and a free food item from the snack bar. I was okay with this, but the next day someone called at 5pm and told me I would need to get my stuff out of the room because the hotel was booked. I explained I had a reservation through Friday but that I would be at the hotel at 6:30pm to discuss with them. I arrived at 6:20 and asked for the manager. She was not available so I waited in the lobby. About 5 mins later I asked again for the manager and was told the manager was in my room packing my stuff. I was appalled! I told her, “why didn’t you tell me?! I would want to pack my own stuff and not have a stranger go through my things!” Feeling completely mortified someone was touching all my stuff (clothes, underwear, toothbrush, makeup etc) I quickly got to the elevator, to find the manager. I found her in the hallway with a cart with all my stuff shoved inside, some in the suitcase some just loose. I had a heated conversation with the manager and the only answer she could give me was that the “no show” opened my room for other reservations and the hotel was booked and she could not give me any room. I told her the front desk employee gave me a new reservation the night before and knew it was thru Friday. To which she explained the hotel was already booked and she only could have only given me the one night. So I asked, why didn’t that employee tell me the reservation was only for one night?! I could have packed my bags and found a new hotel earlier that day. To say I was infuriated would be an understatement. The manager said she discussed this situation with her GM and they decided I should be moved out. So essentially I was evicted, they broke our contract due to a mistake by the hotel. I got the GM and the managers business cards and asked for a call with the GM but the manager said she was
冯冯A new hotel with modern design, a pleasant surprise. The rooms are large and the facilities are beautiful and reasonable. The restaurant is also very beautiful and the food is delicious 😋 An unforgettable and comfortable experience! highly recommended!
GGuest UserI am writing this review from the hotel lobby at 12:11am. I dropped my bags off at 2pm and was given a luggage tag and told my room would be ready shortly. I was told I would be called when my room was ready. It was confirmed and there was no question that I was here and ready to check in. I went on with my planned activities including my dinner plans and now coming back to the hotel have been told they have no room for me. I have never ever had such an experience. They have offered to relocate me to a hotel outside If Cincinnati. This was a quick vacation trip totally ruined by this hotel experience. Under no circumstances will I ever book this hotel chain again. They massively overbooked and have relocated many guests. I have been told on the side by a sympathetic employee that this is standard procedure. NEVER BOOK 21C!!!
GGuest UserWe stayed here to attend a wedding at Bell Events Center and it was just amazing. Its a smaller property - but when we requested for an adjoining rooms to accommodate our small one's - they made sure we got what we need for the stay. The hotel looks brand new as well so that's a plus. Rooms are in great size and parking location super accessible (additional fee). Our little one's also enjoyed their indoor pool! Big shout out to Sabrina (GM) and Jacob (AGM) for making our stay at Holiday Inn & Suites Cincinnati Downtown GREAT!
MMLS0805I had an emergency family issue and had to come in from out of town, booked this at the last minute. The rooms are a little dated but CLEAN and comfortable and smelled clean. There was a decent selection of channels on the TV and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. For the price this was a great value. Although I didn't need it, there was a two burner stove, a full refrigerator, a dishwasher, microwave and coffee pot with coffee. I will stay here every time I am in Cincinnati.
We stayed here for three days while touring Cincinnati. Check-in was the worst part of the stay. There was a guest smoking on the front porch right under the no smoking sign. We told the front desk clerk and she told me that some people just won't obey the rules. Her problem to enforce, not mine. Then, we were unable to connect any of our devices to the wi-fi in the first room we were assigned, which was at the far end of a long hallway. I could connect in the lobby and at the near end of the hall, but I could see the number of bars going down as I walked down the hall. Back to the desk. She told me (1) that this was not possible as they had been full over the weekend, and had no complaints (2) all she could do was give me the hotel's tech support number to call. Really??! It took me some pretty serious insisting to get her to move our room to the near end of the hallway, amid much complaining on her part. OK, the rest of the stay was pretty good. Our second room was clean and comfortable, and everything worked. Breakfast was a bit repetitive, but good - decent choice of hot and cold items. The neighborhood is basically near-in suburban on a busy E-W road; low-end restaurant chains nearby and a reasonable drive to better options. Despite the proximity, it's not terribly convenient to downtown, but between the construction and the traffic, I don't think there IS a good way to get to downtown Cincinnati. I'd stay there again, but I'd shop around first.
AAndrew YFirst of all, I wasn't even going to write this review. BUT... I got the email from Comfort Suites/Choice Hotels asking for feedback.... and when I kept trying to leave this review, it would not let me! Maybe an algroithm prevents me from leaving the bad review. So... here is what I tried to leave as my review on their feedback form: ***We have stayed in several hotel this summer across the Midwest and mid Atlantic states. And... this one was the worst. But this was the location we needed. The good: Coffee! 1. Very good coffee available 24 hours in the lobby. 2. The mattress was comfortable. The Bad: Everything Else. :-( A. Workers moving a safe using a luggage cart when we arrived. (I don’t know if we used the same luggage cart, but the cart we used had a flat tire and did not roll. B. Had to sign up for a 40 minute time slot to swim, (covid) but when we arrived, they were only two people there... and the door knob to the pool area is broken and when we left the pool area we saw people from the neighborhood going in the back door to the pool area I guess to swim?? They had suits on and towels. Also, jacuzzi (hot tub) was closed? Holiday Inn Express in Ironton hot tub was open in July.) C. Very dirty room. I bumped the plastic cover on the air-conditioning and it fell right off and the inside was caked with mold. Gross! Dirt/dust on floor. D. The air-conditioning unit fan kept shutting off. We like constant fan noise all night for background white noise. E. No fruit at breakfast. Could have had cereal and fruit and milk. But the only thing was muffins. (Muffins are a fancy word for cake.) Our family got three muffins and went back to get another one and a huge group of kids came to the lobby and took all of the muffins. They were loud kids and sort of rude. other hotels we have been to the Summer had served grab bags of meals to go, or cereal and fruit, and a Holiday Inn express we stayed at even had a hot breakfast made to order from the lady working. So..... Mostly, this place needs Deep cleaned. If we have to go back for business, I’m going to try the Hampton Inn across the street. This was not an acceptable stay. Sorry
