On the return journey the luggage trailer broke down and then the vehicle broke down. However, accommodation is just gorgeous, the setting is enhanced by the nearby waterhole which attracts many animals. The staff are delightful and accommodating. Would recommend a stay here."

"We had an absolutely amazing stay at Ivory Lodge Safari! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Raphael – and even more memorably, by a herd of elephants right at the lodge! The accommodation was beautiful, blending comfort and nature perfectly. We were so well looked after – with six eating opportunities a day, we were never hungry! Every meal was delicious, and the drink selection was excellent, with something for every taste. A special mention must go to our safari guide, Patrick – he was everything you could hope for in a guide: knowledgeable, patient, passionate, and truly made each game drive unforgettable. We left with incredible memories and a deep appreciation for Hwange. Highly recommend!"

The service is excellent, the staff works hard, and everything is clean and well-maintained. The breakfasts are poor, and the buffet is very limited, but for a 3-star hotel, it's fine. The waterfall is about 1 km away; you can hear it thundering in the quiet."

"We’ve booked Miombo Mews for 5 nights and never regret! We’ve got 1/2 of the whole house with 2 bedrooms 2 bathrooms, second floor and terrace. Everything we need was already there, including oven, washing machine and fridge. The hotel provides breakfast at two scenic restaurants, Lockout and Baines with free transfer there and back. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Drinks and some necessary foodstuffs (like pasta, sunflower oil, canned tuna) are available for purchase at the reception at a reasonable price. The only minus - it’s a bit faraway from city centre, so you need either take taxi for $5-$10 or walk around 25 minutes (which is not safe to do at night due to wild animals walking around). However, it’s not that big disadvantage. Our overall impression is great!"

"Everyone was very friendly, attentive, respectful and did their work well. The place was very clean, had complete amenities, and quite spacious. Only drawback was paying with $cash. Either they had no change or the bill was not in perfect condition, which wasn’t really a fault. Card payments also had a 3% processing fee. I heard that banks were very strict about the state of foreign currency. We had a wonderful time all in all. We would highly recommend this place if you’re ever in Zimbabwe."

"We had an incredible experience staying at Ursula's Lodge! It is a really special place and unlike anywhere we have stayed before. The grounds are kept immaculate and the staff work hard to maintain the beautiful surroundings. Without a doubt, the watering hole is one of the main highlights, which is very close to the accommodation. We saw zebras, impala, baboons and giraffes coming down the watering hole for a drink everyday. One member of our party even saw a rhino in the early hours of the morning! The staff are all very friendly and professional and we were really well looked after during out stay. The food served at Urusula's Lodge is great, with the Eggs Benedict with mushrooms and the Beef Fillet being particular highlights of ours. The rooms are kept very clean and the beds are huge! We booked a few activities through the hotel, including the Afternoon Game Drive and the Morning Walking safaris. These are truly once in a lifetime experiences and we couldn't recommend them enough. Our safari guide Africa was brilliant! He was friendly, funny and very knowledgeable about the animals and plants we saw on our safaris. We saw 4 of The Big 5 on our afternoon game drive - lions, buffalos, rhinos and a leopard! We also saw lots of giraffes, zebras and 2 hyenas. Spotting the different animal tracks on the morning safari and tracking a giraffe on foot was an exciting highlight! Some of our party enjoyed the morning safari so much that they booked a second one later in the week. Thank you to all of the staff for making the stay so memorable, we were really sad to leave! ❤️ "

On the morning of check-out, I was still having breakfast at 9 am, and a male waiter came and said that your room needs to be checked out at 10 o'clock. His attitude was very stiff. Then, without confirming with me, he called a car to the airport for us? Very lack of training and courtesy. Overall score: 2/5. Very poor."

Breakfast was excellent as was the evening meal. The rooms had an indoor bathroom as well as a private outdoor shower. It was wonderful. I thoroughly recommend Shamanzi."
