"We stayed at this hotel as hotels in Victoria Falls are very limited, expensive and overpriced that under deliver and overpromise. This hotel was not cheap compared to other locations but the game changer was a secure pick up and drop off service that ensured that you check in and out of the hotel safely. This is considered a 3 star hotel and it is about correct in its marketing. The staff were friendly and quite responsive. They had a swimming pool and basic room facilities that will get you comfortable as well a a tour table that sells tours mainly from the over domineering and monopolistic non locally owned Wild Horizons company. I gave it 4 stars mainly because of limited food options for lunch and dinner which makes it difficult to be self sufficient in the hotel."

The rooms are very well done and modern, and the hotel staff is nothing short of outstanding. The setting is one of a kind with a water hole view from yur room, the restaurant and the patio...! I highly recommend this property. I have visited Zimbabwe and Hwange 7 times in the past 40 years and can assure anyone who visits this hotel a wonderful experience. Check out the Elephant mount in the bar....it is iconic!"

"I stayed at Pioneers Victoria Falls recently and have no hesitation in recommending this small lodge-styled hotel. The ambience is relaxed and casual, the architecture draws on the early colonial residential style of low-pitched roofs and wide verandas, décor is stylish and colorful, but the real charm is the gardens at the heart of the property, featuring two swimming pools, around which the comfortable rooms are arranged. An easy half hour to slow hour’s walk from town, the location is suburban, and far enough from the Falls that the beat of the sight-seeing helicopters is distant and not an annoyance. Meals are well prepared and presented, with plenty of choice available. There is an exclusive, private feel to this property – a great base from which to explore the Falls, or to rest and refresh before the next leg of an itinerary."

"Stay 4 nights in this hotel, breakfast is order to make, everyday same food , pretty boring. Hotel is pretty far to downtown, but they provide paid transfer 5 dollars 1 way. 10 dollars to the falls entrance and $30 to airport. Staffs are helpful and polite. Room is ok size but not big. We came in raining season, the road condition outside the lodge is bad and bumpy. So we give up walking to town. Alwsys paid transfer."

"Stayed here for 3 nights and it was a beautiful property. The staff were very friendly and answering all our questions related to tours and excursions. MC was especially helpful in accomodating our meals as we requested vegetarian food and was always friendly and cordial. The turn down service was always ready for us when we returned for the day including drawing the mosquito nets and we had no insect problems."

"DEFINITELY NOT 4 STAR. WOULD NOT RETURN. This place was not up to standard. Management decided last minute to do maintenance without informing potential guests or travel companies. Contractors and black bags covering many of the areas, total invasion of privacy. Room was small, unkept amenities made it very uncomfortable. 1 toilet roll, broken toilet paper holder, no hand soap etc etc No Buffett breakfast due to low occupancy as per management - inexcusable No water at breakfast and tried to then charge me for a bottle of water While Richard & Lucy and his management team tried to resolve the matter by giving us a bigger room we also managed to see many of the other hotel options and would’ve no doubt chosen a different place to stay. There was nice touches like a birthday cake, message on the bed and a bottle of bubbles after laying complaints however this hotel needs serious TLC. I feel that management at times were embarrassed and avoided us after laying complaints with our travel agent, they also claimed to be looking for us to rectify the situation and could not find us- we were basically the only people on site at the pool on the day. We then had to approach them to resolve the matter. While the staff and welcoming and friendly this resort is not 4 star, 3 a most. Tranquil afternoons along the river are nice however most of the jetty’s are broken and a health and safety hazard. Definitely would not recommend or Return."

Only complaint is that for international visitors it was not great value as very expensive for what we got. Try and find a deal as still worth staying here."

The meals were delicious onsite- especially the crème brûlée (with passion fruit!)"
