"The Ibis Budget Basel is located about 800 meters from the station but close to tram lines 10 & 11. So it's a simple journey to the hotel.
The staff were helpful, offering ideas, advising us on the Basel Card (free public transport and discounts on museum entry), providing us with an umbrella for the rain.
The rooms are comfortable but no coffee or tea making facilities.
There's not much to do immediately around the hotel but with tram access, you are only minutes from being in the heart of Basel."

The room was spacious and cleaned. The central location (close to bus/train stops) made it very easy to scenic spots . We made a very good choice of this hotel. The picture shows the dino outside the hotel which makes the environment relaxing."

"Bed was very uncomfortable. It's a folding Murphy's bed. Never seen this in a hotel.
It was not so clearly visible while making the booking that hotel parking will cost extra CHF25 per night.
All together there was no great financial benefit in selecting this hotel.
I will not like to use this again."

"I made a reservation through Trip.com for 1 night (2 days), but upon arrival the hotel informed me that it was booked as 2 nights (3 days), which would result in additional charges. Later, the hotel told me they would correct it to 1 night (2 days) and that no extra charges would be applied. They also took my card for deposit purposes but assured me that no payment would be made.
However, on July 14th, I was charged twice: CHF 30 and CHF 46.8. Could you please clarify why these charges were made and arrange for a refund if they were charged in error?"

"This was the third hotel I stayed at in Europe, and it was definitely the best experience. The room wasn't large but it was quite new, and the bathroom was clean and spacious. There are just too many 'old' hotels in Europe, you know? 🙂↕️ Right downstairs, if you turn right, there's a Coop supermarket, and if you turn left, there are restaurants. Within a two-minute walk, you can catch a tram, and it's usually just 3-4 stops to the city center. Basel is a fantastic city for a stopover when traveling in Switzerland. There are many museums and great photo opportunities. You could easily spend two days here."

"I was staying with my son at Metropole Hotel and our room was on top floor next to the panoramic restaurant. Our room was big enough for both of us, bathroom was okay, it could be little bit bigger but it was clean. There was no airco but we slept really good with open window and the streetnoise didn't bothered us. The Hotel is nearby Central Station and metro so it was very relaxing to use public transportation and tip go to Markthalle to grab a bite, just 600m nearby Metropole"

On the plus side, it's very close to the train station, and walking to the art galleries and museums isn't far either."

CCNXGBasel was our final stop in Switzerland this year, a border city spanning only 24 square kilometers. Despite its border location, it's very developed and modern.
**Environment:**
Among hotels like Victoria, Mövenpick, Radisson, and Novotel, we chose this 3-star option. It's directly opposite the SBB train station, and the main bus terminal is just 100 meters from the lobby exit. Although it's a transport hub, the area is decent; there are a few homeless people around, but its convenience makes up for it.
**Facilities:**
There's no fitness center, but you can pay to use a partner facility. The lobby bar is alright, not too crowded, with a nice corner view of the street. Coffee runs between 6-7 Swiss francs. The room isn't huge, but it's fully functional, and the bathroom is quite spacious, which is great for travelers.
**Cleanliness:**
The common areas, like the lobby and hallways, are well-maintained, and the room was very tidy. You can definitely trust the cleanliness standards of Swiss hotels.
**Service:**
Check-in and check-out were both quick. Our room was ready well in advance, and luggage storage was straightforward. They provide a Basel Card, which offers free use of all city public transport and half-price entry to some museums. I didn't particularly notice any other services.

We had an excellent stay at Gaia Hotel Basel. The hotel's commitment to sustainability was impressive and evident in every detail. Our room was comfortable, well-equipped, and beautifully designed, with thoughtful eco-friendly touches.
We loved the delicious breakfast with organic and locally sourced options, and the convenient location near the train station made exploring Basel easy. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always willing to help.
Gaia Hotel Basel perfectly combines comfort, sustainability, and great service. We highly recommend it and would happily stay again on our next visit to Basel!

型型英帥靚正！The location is really good. You will see the blue building once you come out from the railway station.
However there are a few steps in front of the hotel, which make it a little bit inconvenient for travellers with heavy luggage.
The room is spacious with the window overlooking the trains passing by. It is not a bit noisy when the window is closed though you may feel the vibration.
The furniture is a bit old. The shower area is slippery, and so be careful when taking the shower.

I lived in the quadrille room on the second floor. Shower and toilet are located on a general floor, nor in your private room, but still place is spacious and you have a lot of variants where to go

GGuest UserIt was a comfortable stay, with great pillow and comforter. The toilets are clean and bright, with shower gel provided, as well as towels! The breakfast was amazing. The room is spacious and the overall environment as well as the architecture of the building is unique and impressive. However, there is no power socket around the bed, only a usb might be a slight disadvantage. You have to take the bus from the train station but they do provide free Basel Transport card. I enjoyed my stay there and would come back if I'm visiting Basel again!

AAnna801Basel is very small, just a 15-minute walk from the city center. This hotel is located on the edge of the city center, making it especially convenient for walking and public transportation. There is a beautiful lady at the front desk, gentle and polite. The room size is probably okay in Europe. Although the facilities are not new, they are very clean. There are capsule coffee in the room and the toiletries are provided by L'Occitane. The hotel is across the road from the Rhine, and there is a street behind the hotel similar to the bustling weekend market.
