"Our first time in Basel and we chose Schweizerhof after reading through the reviews. The proximity of the hotel to Basel SBB station is a plus point. Had a nice surprise at the room size n the design of the room. Enjoyed our hotel stay and would recommend this to other travellers too. Location is good with the tram n buses running in-front of the hotel making going around easier.
Would hope to come back in future after the hotel complete its upgrading."

This hotel is great. The staff are very nice and helpful in every way. It has all the amenities that’s required for tourists and it’s very clean.. Breakfast was good no complaints here. They even have a QRCODE for a free ride on the tram or bus. how cool is that. They even called a taxi for us to take us to the Viking tor departure. We definitely recommend this hotel. Oh by the way it’s only five minutes walk to the center Basel..GREAT PLACE.

Guest UserVery close to the train station, which is super convenient. The room itself was quite small, and you had to switch elevators multiple times to get to it, which was a bit of a hassle. Everything else was just okay.

Guest UserThis hotel is quite good in Basel across the board. There's a machine in the hallway that dispenses sparkling water and sparkling iced water. The restaurant food is excellent and portions are generous. The location is also superb; you can walk to the train station, and it's just a few stops by public transport to places like the art museum.

We were just passing through. It's a clean hotel with friendly staff. It was a hot day, so they took a window to our room. You don't have to pay for that. Everything else in the hotel was a bit pricey. But we had a great night!

Service: The reception staff were very helpful and quick to respond to any requests.
Cleanliness: The room was spotless.
Environment: The overall hotel environment is pleasant, and the room layout is also very practical.
Facilities: Most hotels in Switzerland have very soft pillows, but this was the only one that offered memory foam pillows, which made for a more comfortable sleep. The only downside is that if your room faces the street, you might hear the trams passing by outside.

The emotional attitude of the lady at the front desk was baffling. When I wanted to order a taxi during check-out in the morning, there was no one at the front desk, nor was there a bell. So I called out ”hello” a few times. The young lady came out from the adjacent room.
”Why are you yelling 'hello'... I am busy... Do you think I should be here (at the front desk) all the time with a smile?” she ranted, complete with an expressive display. What was that all about? I had planned to store my luggage at the hotel, but decided against it. I quickly grabbed my bags and left.

WenshuangyuThe hotel's location is excellent, very close to the train station. They even provide a city transport card, allowing free bus travel and 50% off at attractions and museums. The decor is a bit dated, but all the basic facilities are there. A tram stop is right outside, which saved a lot of walking. There's also a large supermarket and food court nearby where you can find Thai and Middle Eastern cuisine at reasonable prices. The hotel is close to the road, and since I was on the first floor, I could feel vibrations when the tram passed by. However, after a long day of sightseeing, I still managed to get a good rest. I forgot to take pictures of the room. If convenience is a priority, this hotel offers good value for money.
