Who knows! This cave treehouse family room brings a fairytale to life 🌿. The moment you step inside, you're captivated by the warm yellow cave-like ambiance, like stepping into a Hobbit's cottage. The room features multiple beds; the master bedroom's bedding is incredibly comfortable, and there's a separate crib area where my child had a blast bouncing around without any worries about falling out. The details are impeccable: tree-shaped archways, wooden walls, warm ambient lighting—everywhere you look is a picture-perfect moment. The service was also excellent; the front desk even provided snacks. The entire stay was perfect! I'll definitely choose this place again for my next family trip! The owner's service is superb, and the price is great!

Visit Date: November 30 - December 2 2025 __ Service: - The hotel owner himself picked me up and dropped me off at the local Hengshan West high speed rail station. - The owner was very friendly and invited me to try some extremely high end tea. As I was a solo traveller, he also invited me to eat with him - trying some local dishes and sharing a few beers after. - The owner offered to do a guided tour of some local attractions. - The service is very personalised as there are only 12 rooms, with the owner himself personally serving guests and explaining the history of the local area. __ Property: - The construction is extremely high quality, with Tang-style aesthetic in the rooms, but a modern, western style common area and cafe. Having visited many boutique hotels in more remote areas, emphasis must be placed on the materials, polish and finish - giving a very sleek feel. - There is a good balance of water features, with a fishpond where you can feed fish. - The valley facing rooms have very good framing of the scenery including river and mountains in differing depth peripherals. - The layout, location and surrounding mountainside adds a strong sense of privacy compared to the city. __ Room: - The rooms have high-end Toto bidet toilets. - Rooms are very clean. - The front-desk has different scented candles that can be used in your room. - The furniture and amenities within the room are all brand new and at or above the standard as every 5-star city hotel. __ Food: - The owner kindly covered all 3 meals, of which lunch and dinner were more local, as I was joined by the owner and some staff. All meals are a-la-carte made to order by an in-house chef. - The beef rice noodles with soup was an exceptional breakfast, especially for me who cannot eat very spicy food. (The local cuisine is generally very spicy preference.) - You can pick fresh oranges in the orchard immediately adjacent to the hotel. __ Local Area: - The local area is not as popular for tourism as compared to places like the nearby Zhangjiajie Avatar Mountains. Many attractions are mainly Buddhism related such as temples or a purported 1000 year old Gingko Tree. - The local Mount Heng can be hiked in under 4 hours. - The local city is small and the hotel location is somewhat far from the city centre. __ Overall this hotel provides a very tranquil environment to meditate and destress over tea, while looking at beautiful scenery. For the price point given, it offers a much better value compared to attempting to get the same conditions in the more popular, crowded scenic areas nearby. If visiting the local city or adjacent Hengyang, this hotel is by far the most unique experience, as almost all other high end hotels are just the high-rise business hotel type.

The boss uncle and aunt are very good. The peers said that the service quality of the 5-star hotel was out. When they arrived at the high-speed rail station, the boss would pick you up. They were especially careful to explain where you were waiting. The room is the only single room nearby with a 40-square-meter bed and breakfast hotel. It just opened in March this year. There are 6 rooms and the service is accurate. After arriving, the boss cooked local rice noodles for us to eat. A bowl of dried is particularly delicious, and the fermented peppers are also very authentic. There is also a mahjong table in the room, suitable for 4 of us to travel haha. Please Xiang originally had other places to ask, because the aunt was an obstetrician and gynecologist before she retired, and the hands that had delivered countless new lives in decades were full of blessings, so I decided to ask in the store. The price is also very real. The boss accompanied us to the temple the next day and guided the whole process. Auntie on the return trip also cooked sweet soup for us to eat, meaning that this trip prayed for a complete blessing. highly recommended!

Shuixieshanshe Homestay is a relatively new lodging started by a young couple. The room we stayed in was clean and bright. The room's temperature can be adjusted accordingly, and there is a warm shower that is strong even when 3-4 people use it consecutively. The lodging is value for money and the young couple managing it goes out of the way to make the place homely and comfortable for the guests. The owner provides complimentary pick-up and drop-off at the Hengshan West Railway station. My elderly mom was ill during the trip and the owner went out of the way to send us to the TCM clinic. We extended our stay for another day due to the kindness and courtesy of the owners. Shuixieshanshe Homestay is within 5 minutes of walking distance to the Grand Temple of Mount Heng ( Nányuè Dàmiào) which makes it an excellent base from which to explore Mount Heng (衡山)

This hotel provides excellent service. The front desk staff are very friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. The rooms are very clean, and the hotel thoughtfully provides four bottles of spring water every day. When we checked out, they even gave us a small snack for the journey, which was a very nice touch. The housekeeping staff are also very helpful and do a thorough job keeping the room spotless. The hotel offers a great buffet breakfast with plenty of choices, as well as free afternoon tea and a late-night supper. The restaurant food is delicious and the dining experience is very enjoyable. Another great benefit is the free pickup from the high-speed train station and the complimentary drop-off service. Overall, this hotel offers great comfort and thoughtful service. I highly recommend it and will definitely stay here again.

The room was clean and simple, and brewing tea by the window added a lovely ambiance. Room service was prompt and responsive. The lobby manager was warm, generous, and incredibly attentive. The hotel's location is super convenient for getting anywhere – it's very close to Mount Hengshan Scenic Area, Nanyue Temple, Nanyueli, and Time City 1944. Even popular spots like Chuan Xiaobai are not far. A truly excellent stay, highly recommend!

Facilities: Complete Hygienic: clean and tidy Service: Five-star praise On the second day of the new year, I went to Hengshan with my family and mother-in-law. I booked this homestay. I called the proprietress for consultation before I went. The service attitude was super good. I decided to make this one. I went to the boss and would come down to pick us up from the parking lot. After I went to the hotel, I was moved by the enthusiasm of the proprietress. The proprietress’s food is also delicious. I don’t usually eat rice very much. I also ate a bowl and a half of rice. The noodles for breakfast were also delicious. I didn’t even have soup left. My parents and mothers were also very satisfied with this homestay. If I go next time, I will still choose here. Fortunately, the bed in the room has an electric blanket. My husband lay down after taking a shower and said that he was cured. It was too warm and comfortable. Climbing the mountain is so tired, but fortunately this homestay has been cured.

The hotel is very nice, with beautiful environment, quiet and comfortable, good sanitary conditions, especially the large garden balcony, which is very popular with both adults and children. The breakfast is also very rich. This is the most cost-effective high-end hotel I stayed in during this holiday. Next time I come to Hengyang, I will stay at Yuelai again.

I chose Haitang Hotel for a business trip because it's close to my company. This is my second time staying here. When I checked in, the customer service lady directly upgraded my room. The room facilities are relatively new, and it's clean. Housekeeping cleaned it every day. The hotel's location is excellent, with restaurants and convenience stores downstairs, which is very convenient. It's a good choice for business trips 👍

The hotel is about a ten-minute walk from Hengyang Railway Station. The reception staff are friendly and attentive, and check-in is quick. The room is clean and quiet, and the bedding is also very clean. The bathroom has a separate shower and toilet, and is equipped with a smart toilet, projector, etc. Breakfast is just a left turn from the hotel entrance; the freshly cooked rice noodles are very authentic.
