"This was one of the most memorable domestic trips I've had recently. Although the activity area wasn't large, mainly centered around the various Tulou (earthen buildings), it was like tea – worth savoring slowly, repeatedly 'brewing' its essence. The hotel's unique character really stands out, and the service is good. While there aren't many options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, every dish is excellent. As the 'building manager' said, the facilities and environment are 'restored to their old glory,' meaning they intentionally preserve the antique feel. Some minor imperfections and inconvenient transportation are negligible; you really can't judge it by conventional hotel standards. Towards the end of the Chinese New Year holiday, the crowds receded like a tide, and the village returned to its original tranquility. On the dimly lit village paths, there wasn't even the sound of barking dogs or human voices, only the gurgling of water and a faint scent of osmanthus. During the day, with sightseeing and guided tours, the Tulou seemed like quiet, well-behaved children, accepting the guide's introductions and visitors' comments. At night, illuminated by red lanterns, bonfires, and moonlight, the Tulou suddenly came alive, as if time belonged to them again, showcasing the steady wisdom and profound depth of elders. Yaodong, Wenxuan, Daosun, Heqing, Yuchang… the building names are filled with beautiful characters, representing generations of yearning and pursuit of a good life. 'They asked what era this was, and knew not of the Han, let alone the Wei or Jin…' For this village nestled by mountains and water, everything seems insignificant except for technology. Technology restored the old buildings, presenting them to newcomers, while the people who once lived here, with their desires and attachments, left no trace… Strangers admired each other's dazzling fireworks together. Though a fleeting joy in the river of time, it 'called back' the harmonious atmosphere of the clans who once lived collectively in the Tulou… Time achieved a closed loop here; life has always cycled in this manner."

"The B&B is located right inside the 'Four Dishes and One Soup' elliptical building, and staying within a World Heritage site is a truly special experience. The scenic area ticket is 90 RMB, and with a Taiwan Compatriot Travel Document, it's half price. This time, I brought my 77-year-old mother, and for those over 65, the scenic area entrance is free. The B&B owners are incredibly welcoming; they can arrange dinner and local transportation for you, and the prices are reasonable and affordable. The meals are authentic farm-style dishes, prepared by the proprietress herself. If you prefer milder flavors, you can ask her to use less oil and salt. Experiencing the warmth and simplicity of the local Hakka farmers here is a rare life experience. Staying here allows you to enjoy the 'Four Dishes and One Soup' scenery both day and night, and the air here is especially fresh. At night, we even tried the 'red bucket' for urinating in the room. I asked the proprietress if we should do it inside or outside the room, and she said, 'Either is fine, just don't spill the bucket.' We only stayed one night, but my mother said she would have happily stayed two. It’s a wonderful rural life experience. What are you waiting for? Come visit soon!"

"This hotel exceeded my expectations. Upon arrival, front desk staff member Jian Xuejin gave us a warm welcome. She handled our check-in, introduced us to attractions around the hotel, and even guided us to the Chinese restaurant for dinner. Later, she also helped resolve an issue with our room's air conditioning. She was very professional and attentive. The hotel is conveniently located directly opposite an entrance gate to the Yunshuiyao Scenic Area, and the food at the Chinese restaurant was delicious."

"I highly recommend this place for families with children under ten. The fish pond and dress-up activities in the *tulou* (earthen building) kept the kids thoroughly entertained; they even said it was more fun than the scenic spots themselves. Adults will also have a great time. Visiting other *tulous* in the scenic areas often means just seeing the exterior, as the interiors are usually packed with stalls. This homestay's *tulou*, however, is quiet and uncrowded, making it perfect for sitting back and enjoying a tea ceremony. We stayed in a small standalone villa, which was completely quiet at night. The only downside was that the bathtub was a bit dirty, so we didn't use it."

"The owner was incredibly welcoming. As soon as we arrived, they gave us a great introduction to the local 'tulou' (earthen buildings) and suggested a sightseeing route. We were greeted with complimentary fruit, and when we left, they even gave us some local specialties as a farewell gift. They also offered free traditional ethnic clothing for us to try on, which was a nice touch. The tulou itself is 100 years old, but the interior facilities are surprisingly modern – even more so than the star-rated hotel we stayed at on this trip. The doors, curtains, and lights are all electric, and you can even control the lights with a smart assistant. The location is excellent, not far from Huaiyuan Tower and Yunshuiyao, so you can easily walk there if the weather isn't too hot."

"I usually do not choose homestay when other modes are available. However in Yunshuiyao homestay is the only choice. Given that 1949 has to preserve the local architecture do not expect 5 star hotel facilities. For all the constraints of a ”min su” the staff do go the distance to ensure they meet the demands of guests. I checked out a happy guest and will recommend 1949 to other travelers."

"We booked three rooms for five people for one night. The guesthouse's location is fantastic, right next to the 'Four Dishes and One Soup' Tulou. You can easily access the viewing platform nearby to see the night scenery, which is very convenient! The owner and his son were incredibly hospitable. The owner's son even drove his motorcycle to the parking lot to pick us up. He's also an excellent cook! In the morning, as we were leaving, the owner helped us carry our luggage to the car. "The B&B's location is incredibly central, right in the heart of the scenic area, making it super convenient to get everywhere. They offer free parking. The owners are a family who provide warm and thoughtful service. We had all three meals at their place, and the home-style cooking was absolutely authentic – it feels like a well-established restaurant that's been around for over 20 years. The rooms at the B&B are also exquisite and fantastic, truly commendable! The large floor-to-ceiling windows, combined with drinking tea on the tatami, create a uniquely cozy atmosphere. My daughter didn't even want to leave the next day! We had other plans, otherwise, we would have definitely stayed another night. We'll have to arrange another visit next time. I wish the owners a booming business. I highly recommend this place to anyone planning a trip to Yunshuiyao. Staying at Yunxi Moye was definitely the right choice."
