"Of all the camps in the area to choose from I highly recommend staying at this particular one. The manager Wang Shiquan and his team are incredibly good hosts and made sure I had everything I needed. As a foreigner I felt incredibly welcomed and included. The tents are of really good quality and very roomy. The beds are really comfy too. The activities are also plentiful with quad biking, camel riding and sandboarding. Shapotou is very close by too with much to do. Ningxia is definitely an underrated province and I highly recommend anyone to come and see it and experience the kind hospitality of it's people from this camp. Thank you for a great stay."

"The butler will contact guests a day in advance. The hotel is located inside the Tonghu Scenic Area, and the room rate includes admission tickets. This is the only hotel in the scenic area, so there are no outsiders. The hotel's front desk is at the main entrance of the Tonghu Grassland Scenic Area, with free parking. There's a 4x4 shuttle service within the area. The Starlight Restaurant is right next to the tent area, making dining convenient. It usually includes a buffet breakfast and a buffet hot pot dinner with good quality ingredients and a wide selection. There's a shuttle service to the bonfire party, which features a high-quality equestrian show, not just simple amateur entertainment. The rooms are tents. Our room type only had a password lock on the tent zipper, but since there are no outsiders in the park, it felt safe. Soundproofing isn't great because it's a warm tent. Each room type has a private bathroom and toilet, also in an attached tent form. Amenities are complete, including Crocs-style slippers and body lotion. The stand-up air conditioner heats and cools quickly, and there's also an oil-filled radiator for heating. It's hot during the day and cold at night, so you need to use both heating and cooling throughout the day. It's dry, so you can hang a wet towel. There are sand toys and sand sleds everywhere outside the room, and sand dunes right outside your tent, so you can play freely. Everything you could need is provided. If you stay for multiple nights, you'll need to drive quite a distance to visit other places during the day. Actually, one night and the next morning are sufficient. There are plenty of daytime activities, making it suitable for families with children. However, adults can use the daytime for excursions."

"This self-guided desert tour is absolutely amazing! The desert scenery is majestic and magnificent, and the afterglow of the setting sun shines on the golden sand dunes, as beautiful as a painting. The campsite facilities are complete and the staff are warm and caring. The food is diverse, the roasted whole lamb is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and the aroma is overflowing. Camel riding, sand boarding and other activities are super exciting. Moreover, the self-guided itinerary is free and allows you to deeply experience the charm of the desert. Highly recommended, looking forward to coming again next time!"

"Facilities: Air conditioning is necessary during the day in the desert, and it works very well. The toilets all have automatic flushing. Cleanliness: There was a little sand in the room, but you can't be too picky about a guesthouse in the desert—it was very clean! Service: Off-road vehicles provide pick-up and drop-off service, which is excellent! I didn't go inside the Tengger Desert. It's a package ticket, so it's not suitable if you only want to ride motorcycles. There are camel rides and other similar activities at various scenic spots along the way, so I didn't participate. Overall, the accommodation experience was very good. They also offer a stargazing course, which was very meaningful, and they even gave us a cute little camel plush toy! There's a bonfire party with fireworks, and you can also buy fireworks at the guesthouse for a trial; the prices are very reasonable. The sunset at the hotel is also beautiful and photogenic. The only slight drawback is dinner; the set menu wasn't quite worth it, especially the chicken soup. I hope the hotel can improve on that."

"Service: In the tent's bathroom, after one person showered with hot water, the second person had to wait at least half an hour before being able to shower. My child showered for 20 minutes and then there was no hot water left. I was the first one to go in the morning and even added the customer service on WeChat. After I reported it to them, they told me that this is how it is and I just have to wait half an hour. They didn't offer any compensation or solution, so I really don't know what to say. Hotel Buffet: Don't expect too much. The room rate only includes meals for two adults; children's breakfast and dinner cost an additional 103 per person. The lamb served was from less desirable cuts, with skin and a slightly ***** taste. Girls could only eat a little, and for children, it's definitely not worth it. What else I want to complain about is that during the morning buffet, both the lamb offal and fried eggs had long queues on both sides, and no one came to serve for a long time. I want to ask, are fried eggs such valuable items? Why do you need such a long queue for them? Either fry them in advance, or assign two people – one specifically for frying eggs and one for serving lamb offal. Also, the squid shown in the promotional pictures in the restaurant was not available, and neither was the yogurt pictured."

The desert environment is quiet and beautiful, the air is fresh, and the views are spectacular. It's incredibly therapeutic to be away from the hustle and bustle. The room layout is well-planned and functional, with a smooth flow and thoughtful storage, making it very convenient to stay in. The facilities are comprehensive and well-maintained, with plenty of stable hot water that comes out quickly and maintains a consistent temperature. The bathroom was spotless. The bedding was brand new, clean, crisp, soft, and gentle on the skin. Both the pillows and mattress were perfectly comfortable, ensuring a deep and restful sleep. The food was home-style, freshly prepared, delicious, and flavorful – not too strong or greasy, healthy and satisfying. The service was exceptional, with the owner personally attending to us throughout our stay. They were warm, polite, and responsive, proactively anticipating our needs while being attentive without being intrusive. "Traveling solo to the desert to clear my mind, and this camp was wonderfully quiet and peaceful. I hiked up a dune alone to watch the sunset, and the starry night sky was truly healing, washing away all my fatigue. The staff weren't intrusive at all, but were readily available whenever I needed help. The cabin was private and well-equipped with a complete set of toiletries and air conditioning. As a solo traveler, I felt completely safe. It's the perfect escape from the city's hustle and bustle."
