"The futuristic capsule hotel offers a novel experience with smart controls, which is pretty good. However, the cleanliness is just so-so, possibly due to limited conditions in the desert. The breakfast and dinner selections were very limited. The most surprising thing was that a hotel primarily for families didn't even have children's cutlery in its restaurant. The butler service was practically non-existent; I had to wait a long time for no response before making a voice call. Although there weren't many guests on the night of our check-in, the service response was still very slow. I hope the hotel improves its service. The evening bonfire show was quite good and unique. For photos in the astronaut suit, they insisted I post on Xiaohongshu first to get it for free, and the suit itself was extremely dirty – the neck rim was completely black, and the suit was torn. The shoes they provided didn't even match. While the photos turned out okay, the overall experience was hard to describe. All in all, experiencing it once is enough. If you absolutely want to stay in the desert with family, the Starry Hotel is a better option."

"Of all the camps in the area to choose from I highly recommend staying at this particular one. The manager Wang Shiquan and his team are incredibly good hosts and made sure I had everything I needed. As a foreigner I felt incredibly welcomed and included. The tents are of really good quality and very roomy. The beds are really comfy too. The activities are also plentiful with quad biking, camel riding and sandboarding. Shapotou is very close by too with much to do. Ningxia is definitely an underrated province and I highly recommend anyone to come and see it and experience the kind hospitality of it's people from this camp. Thank you for a great stay."

"The camp is very new, especially clean, the style is high-end, I like the quiet atmosphere. I originally booked the tent and wanted to experience it. The proprietress reminded me in advance that it will be very cold at night. I don’t need to live in a wooden house. I changed the wooden house to a very wise decision at night. The wooden house has air conditioning and sleeps very warmly. You can sit on the terrace at the door and chat. At night, you can climb to the sand slope behind the wooden house to see the stars. It is very romantic. This time I was very lucky. I saw the weather forecast. It was cloudy. I thought I couldn't see the stars. I still saw it! It’s off-season. There are very few people. There is no bonfire party and fireworks. In the evening, the proprietress said that the tourists in other camps gathered together at the bonfire party and asked us if we would go. At night, we drove us to it. It’s so lucky. Very good experience. By the way, desert entertainment project B The most cost-effective package, the proprietress also gave a discount, riding camel, desert cross-country, go-karts are worth experiencing, the benefits of the off-season, there is no need to queue at all, the experience is better"

"The first time I took my children to the desert to live in a tent, the experience was good. The facilities are complete, the small butler service is warm and thoughtful, the car is picked up and sent on call, and we also prepared mineral water and shoe covers in advance. The desert project played the B package, which was very fun. There is a bonfire party and fireworks in the evening, and the atmosphere is very good. The temperature difference between day and night in the desert is very large. The tent is very cold at night. There are electric blankets in the room, but the tent is still a bit leaky. If you take your children to watch the stars at night and watch the sunrise in the morning, you need to prepare thick clothes in advance. Overall, it is very good."

"I liked the homestay very much and stayed for two nights in a row. If the scoring standard is based on a 5-point system, I am willing to give ”Shaliwa” a score: 5+. 1 ””Shaliwa” is located in the Alxa Tengger Desert Campground. During this trip, we stayed in a 180° zero-pressure sand view bed room by the lake. It has an independent cabin and large floor-to-ceiling glass windows. It is built by the lake and has an excellent view! 2》The surrounding area of Shaliwa is full of various camping bases, but Shaliwa should be the best homestay in this area. 3》The B&B provides butler-style service. Add WeChat before check-in to provide check-in guidance. Because the B&B is located in the desert, the B&B provides free pick-up and drop-off from the B&B to the Desert Manor. 4》Desert entertainment items for tourists around the homestay: desert surfing, camel riding, karting, etc. Also, hiking alone in the desert is super cool. 4》B&B breakfast buffet, not very good, but full. For lunch and dinner, you can scan the QR code to order by yourself, and you can eat as you go until nine o'clock in the evening. 5. The B&B is located in the desert. Sunrise, sunset, and stargazing are all good, and there are stargazing classes at night. A very pleasant stay experience!"

"If you are coming to this resort for the experience of sleeping in the desert, it delivers reasonably well. The tent I booked was simple but adequate, with a heating blanket provided for colder nights. Go with the mindset of seeking an experience rather than hotel-level comfort. The activities are sold as packages, the most expensive being 400 RMB for 90–120 minutes. They are fun but short and tourist-oriented, still worthwhile if you’ve made the trip. You can also take a quiet stroll into the desert. On the downside, although the resort is marketed for stargazing, there is too much light pollution to see the stars. The Wi-Fi is unreliable, which matters since reception in the area is poor. Snacks are limited, and while a set menu is proposed, individual dishes can be requested, but no prices are displayed for these, which feels lacking in transparency. Cleanliness of the shared bathrooms was also disappointing, as they were not serviced often enough. Overall, while not perfect, the stay is still a unique experience. I recommend it for just one night, enough to enjoy the activities and the desert atmosphere!"

"My recent stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Zhongwei was a delightful surprise! Amy Yumi, the front desk attendant, greeted me with such a warm smile, and Coco had me checked in within three minutes. They even upgraded me to a larger room for free, which was spacious and bright, and came with a complimentary fruit platter. The bathroom's separate wet and dry areas were a thoughtful touch, and the Hilton-standard cleanliness put me completely at ease. The breakfast buffet offered local specialties like the incredibly flavorful and chewy Aocai noodles. The self-service coffee machine made a latte that was just as good as anything you'd get at a cafe! The location was super convenient too; it took less than half an hour by taxi to get to the Shapotou Scenic Area. In the evenings, I could unwind at the gym. The free laundry room was a lifesaver for travelers needing to refresh their clothes, and the printer in the lobby's business center was free to use. I even discovered that the room's power outlets had built-in USB ports! I've already recommended this hotel to all my friends planning a trip to Zhongwei. Whether for a business trip or a desert adventure, it's the perfect choice!"
