The hotel facilities are all brand new and in perfect condition. The room was meticulously cleaned, with no dust even in the corners, and the air was fresh with no strange odors. The guest room was spacious, and the bedding was clean and soft, making for a very comfortable sleep. The hot water came out quickly and at a stable temperature, and the bathroom area was dry and tidy. The soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a quiet night's rest. The front desk staff were warm and polite, even giving us many boxes of Zhongwei硒砂瓜 to try. Check-in was very quick. The surrounding area is also quite convenient for getting around. As a new establishment, both the hardware and cleanliness are impeccable, offering great value for money. It's perfect for both leisure travel and short stays, highly recommended. I'll definitely choose this place again if I have the chance.

This self-guided desert tour is absolutely amazing! The desert scenery is majestic and magnificent, and the afterglow of the setting sun shines on the golden sand dunes, as beautiful as a painting. The campsite facilities are complete and the staff are warm and caring. The food is diverse, the roasted whole lamb is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and the aroma is overflowing. Camel riding, sand boarding and other activities are super exciting. Moreover, the self-guided itinerary is free and allows you to deeply experience the charm of the desert. Highly recommended, looking forward to coming again next time!

I absolutely loved this place! I’m writing this as a foreigner who went with 4 other foreigners for a special birthday weekend. First, the service. We have good Chinese proficiency, but those with limited to none will be fine. Most of the communication and coordination is handled via WeChat - which can auto translate. 东 “Dong” was our main contact. He rocked and gave us a real experience. He shuttled us in the sand jeep, gifted me a cake for my birthday, and was just an overall cool guy. Thanks! Second, the location and accommodations. If you stay near Desert Star, there’s a lot of people and campsites - that area seems like a bit of a tourist funnel. This area is located in the REAL sand dunes area. Further North, you actually cross into Inner Mongolia. The separation and distance is worth it. Makes for brighter stars and a more authentic experience. Third, the food. They were able to coordinate a whole lamb to be roasted for my birthday. It was absolutely extraordinary. The sides for it were some of the best I had on the entire trip - they have some skilled chefs there. This place has great reviews, and it’s worth it. I do recommend this to foreigners, and I hope I can return one day.

Stayed for two nights and tried two different room types: a log cabin and a lotus tent. The housekeeper's service is very good. He replies to WeChat messages and answers phone calls immediately at any time. It makes tourists who are not familiar with camping projects feel very reassured. The breakfast is very rich. During holidays, it is recommended to go there just after the meal starts, when there are fewer people and you can enjoy the special food slowly. The desert project package can be purchased directly at the registration desk, which is very convenient. The sandboard can be used for free and unlimited sliding. We stayed in Dongge Camp for a whole day. The next day, the housekeeper helped us contact Master Wang to charter a car to visit several popular attractions in Zhongwei. I stayed in an air-conditioned cabin without a private bathroom this time. It was cleaner than I expected. I'd recommend bringing a pair of flip-flops for the shared showers. Other amenities like toothbrushes and towels were disposable, which was great. Getting a taxi was difficult, but the host was incredibly thoughtful and came to pick us up. There was a bonfire party in the evening, and they set off fireworks like there was no tomorrow! Watching the stars and fireworks in the desert was absolutely beautiful!

While it wasn't cheap, the experience was truly exceptional. 1. **Stunning Desert Landscape:** The vast desert at dusk, watching the magnificent sunset, was breathtakingly beautiful. 2. **Excellent Entertainment Facilities:** Our room opened right onto the desert, and the hotel provided various toys for children. A single sandboard kept my child entertained with sand sliding all afternoon. 3. **Shapotou Scenic Area Tickets:** We received complimentary transport to the desert area, where we could either play or take a shuttle bus to the Yellow River area. 4. **Impressive Dining:** The dinner buffet with individual hot pots offered a wide variety of ingredients, leaving us feeling very satisfied. Breakfast was also above average, and there was even a complimentary late-night snack service. 5. **Other Amenities:** In the evenings, there were small concerts and stargazing classes. 6. **Room Facilities:** The rooms were comfortable, well-equipped, and quite spacious. 7. **Service Quality:** The service deserves high praise; they were almost always able to accommodate our requests. Overall, it's definitely worth experiencing if you get the chance. For a more budget-friendly option, traveling during the off-season would likely be even better.

This hotel is perfect for young children. My little one absolutely loved the courtyard, the hot tub, and the second-floor terrace. Stepping out of the courtyard, you're right on the dunes, perfect for endless digging – they were even happier than when they first saw the ocean! The hotel's public facilities are excellent; they even have a proper hydraulic-driven excavator experience. The environment is beautiful and great for photos. The overall design is a Moroccan rammed earth style, similar to what you'd find in Marrakech or Ouarzazate, which is quite rare in China. The stargazing conditions in Zhongwei are superb. If you love the night sky, you can't go wrong here. However, there were a few areas that weren't so great. First, there was an abundance of commercial photo shoots, which really detracted from the vacation feel. Second, the service level could be improved. While all the staff were very polite, the management and process design need work. Third, the food quality was not good. Breakfast was entirely buffet-style, with the only live station being noodles. There was no à la carte menu at all. The buffet and à la carte options for lunch and dinner were also disappointing, a significant mismatch given the room rates.

This Mercure hotel by Donghu Lake is amazing! The lakeside scenery is absolutely stunning, and the rooms are well-equipped and clean, with 24-hour AC and hot water. The huge floor-to-ceiling windows let you watch the starry sky and sunrise without even leaving your room. The terrace also has a great vibe and is perfect for photos. The bonfire, fireworks, and firework show add a touch of romance. The service is attentive and thoughtful; the butler was very responsive and quick to resolve any issues. The environment is quiet and peaceful, making it incredibly relaxing to return to your room after exploring Donghu Lake. Being able to participate in the evening bonfire party and firework show was a real treat!

The room is very good. Walking out of the French window is the desert. Each house is far away from each other, with good privacy and a wide view. The bed is clean and comfortable, two big beds or less. The hotel helped us merge two 1.2 single beds together. We are not afraid of the air conditioning being very warm at night. From the beginning of booking the room, I called to consult and was very patient to explain the room and travel route problems to me. I called twice in total, and the call time was very long. The front desk staff was really patient and professional. After arriving at the store, the service was as good as always.
