"I didn’t enjoy my stay. I was very disappointed with the room allocation. My room was on the second floor, while my daughters were on the seventh floor, even though we booked together. This made getting ready for my daughter’s graduation stressful and time-consuming. I also requested twin beds when I made the booking, but this request was not honoured. Unfortunately, I didn’t find the staff helpful when I raised these issues. Overall, the experience did not meet my expectations"

"The guest house was easy to find with approximately three parking bays outside the front. We arrived late, so had to phone the mobile number provided, and were greeted with prompt and efficient service to take us directly to our room. The room exceeded expectations, considering the price, the facilities were very good, considering the price. The room was warm in the middle of winter and had private access to an outside yard. We had a quiet and peaceful night's sleep, leaving us invigorated for the day ahead. Well done Glen field lodge guest house, we will definitely return if we need to stay in Leicester city centre again. Thankyou."

"The Grand is in the middle of an extensive refurbishment programme. I booked 4 room for 2 nights on each side of my daughter's graduation - which I explained to the hotel in advance, so we could have rooms close together to help with hairdressing etc. First the good - beautiful building with stunning original features within a contemporary refurbishment. Stunning public areas, easy parking (albeit the car park is v tatty). The BEST service staff - accommodated all our requests, gave my daughters free parking as a gift. Everyone was delightful, helpful and effective. The bar was superb, superb service and drinks. Breakfast was gorgeous - huge variety with quality ingredients, beautifully presented. The rooms were simple yet luxurious. V nicely appointed bathrooms, comfy bed, lovely shower products. The bad - two of us had to change rooms due to ineffective / not working aircon. Unfortunately, my room was worst with heat topping 33 degrees, even hotter when the hairdresser arrived. I GOT NO SLEEP due to the heat. My friend had already had her room changed before she arrived due to a maintenance issue but her new room had no aircon at all - worth knowing that 4 stars does not mean aircon in all rooms (only 50%) have it. After having to back up we were allocated new rooms. My friend's room was an upgraded one. Mine was not, but the aircon worked to a nearly acceptable level. That said, nothing close to the ”fridge” temperature my daughter / boyfriend and her brother, enjoyed. I spoke to the manager after breakfast as I checked out. He too was charming and completely accepted my complaint. In essence, the ”build” is still happening and he is reporting the snagging issues. Given dinestiv builds can be a nightmare, he did my sympathy as he is trying to coordinate this, much larger build, with people getting in the way. I would love to revisit in 6mths or so - as so much of what they are doing is fantastic - its just quite there yet...but it will be fabulous!"

"Great stay at Holiday Inn Leicester. The room was clean, comfortable, and the staff were friendly. The location is excellent, within walking distance of Highcross Shopping Centre, Leicester Cathedral, and plenty of restaurants. Smooth check-in, good breakfast, and overall great value. Would definitely stay here again!"

"I’ve stayed here three times. It’s a relatively new hotel in Leicester, but the room has many annoying faults. I could never connect my laptop to the hotel Wi-Fi on all three trips, so I had to use my phone hotspot for work. The AC, fridge and bathroom fan make loud noise — the fridge is the worst, I had to pull its plug to quiet it down. Everything else in the room works normally."

"This hotel was the best went to check in had booked double room got upgraded to a family room and as soon as we got to the room we had trouble finding out how to open the door with the card. Yes me and my mum had 1 of them Richard Gere from Pretty Woman moments haha but once got in the room we was impressed was so clean and tidy it had a mini fridge under the TV everything was accessible staff was so kind and friendly. Would definitely recommend to others who was passing through the area to stop was no noise from the motorway traffic and eateries on the motorway services was right next door. Didnt book in for breakfast as was leaving early next morning. 20/10 top marks very happy customer. Big shout out to tariek"

"The location is fantastic! 10 minute walking distance to the theatres and shopping areas. The facade is clean and appealing and on entering the building, the bar/restaurant area really provides a wow factor. I had a double room which were two single beds pushed together, so there was no room to stretch out. The kitchenette doesn't come with washing up liquid or a sponge, so I was a little confused as to how I was supposed to clean up. The toilet was lovely, but having lifted the toilet seat, the toilet bowl was filled with yellow liquid. Easily solved with flushing. The shower was glorious I didn't want to get out. The rooms are not sound proofed so if you are a light sleeper like me, make sure you take your ear plugs. On the whole I paid £80 for the room on Trip, other sites were charging £140 so I do think I got a good deal. I paid for what I got."

"Brilliant service. Infact on this app i paid for 2 adults breakfast at time of booking but when i got to the hotel and checked in they confirmed that i actually paid for 4 adults!!! Other than that hotel room superb, clean and quite spacious. Would book again. Full retail park across the road."

"The hotel is very conveniently located, and the staff are very helpful. However, it’s worth noting that the rooms are equipped with an air-cooling system rather than air conditioning; with temperatures in the thirties these past few days, it’s still very hot in the rooms and I haven’t been able to sleep."

"The facilities are a bit old and the room's soundproofing isn't great... but overall it's clean and tidy. The price is affordable, and it's close to the train station. The owner is also quite enthusiastic. It's a good deal for a single night's stay."
