"Great stay at Holiday Inn Manchester! The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast was good too. As it was my first time visiting the UK, I didn’t realize that check-out time was 11:00 am. The staff kindly called to remind me, and even allowed me to check out at 12:00 pm without any issues. I really appreciated their understanding and excellent hospitality. Thank you!"

"The hotel building boasts a grand and impressive Victorian exterior. Apparently, it opened in 1857, making it nearly 170 years old. Its location is superb, with a bus stop just over 100 meters away. As my friend put it, ”It's right in the absolute city center.” However, once inside the single room, the interior decor and amenities could only be described as simple. For instance, there's an approximately 28-inch Samsung TV mounted diagonally on the wall above a small desk, and the bathroom's rinse cup is inverted on the flat surface in front of the mirror, without even a tray or coaster underneath. The hotel restaurant is in the basement."

"The hotel is very close to Piccadilly train station, but I wouldn't recommend using the overhead bridge – it actually makes it a longer walk. My room, at least, was spacious, and the bed even bigger. What I loved most was that the hangers could be taken down, and they even provided slippers! I stayed for two nights, and it was generally very quiet, much better than my experiences in Edinburgh and London. The mini-fridge had food and water, along with tea bags and a capsule coffee machine, all of which I confirmed were complimentary. However, because they took a £52 pre-authorization upon check-in, I didn't touch anything in the fridge to be on the safe side. The restaurant is on the right side of the lobby on the ground floor and is very standard for a Western-style restaurant. Below are some personal cons: 1. Manchester isn't as warm as London, and my room was shaded. Even on sunny days, it felt a bit cool inside, and the air conditioning's heating seemed pretty ineffective. 2. The bathroom floor was extremely slippery; you absolutely need to use the non-slip mat provided by the hotel. 3. The toilet flush button was very stiff; I couldn't press it with my left hand and had to use my right. Oh, and they gave me hot scones at check-in, as shown in picture 6."

Breakfast was an additional cost but well worth it with a god range of choices and no limit to what you could have. I would recommend the hotel."

"So no issues with the staff down at the reception area at all, doing a smashing job representing the hotel, telling us about the app too upon arrival... check in the hotel earlier with app very cool, very nice, also the reception area is where the big bosses of this hotel choose to spend most of their budget as when you get to the rooms it does show. Cleaning staff - now what are they doing? Because they certainly aren't cleaning the rooms, the room was the dirtiest room I've ever stayed in, windows, bed, bathroom, carpets, i know its a budget hotel but basic levels of hygiene and cleaniness should be a must in a hotel, ive stayed in cheaper hotels and they were cleaner! Needs a refurb in the rooms and big recruitment drive for cleaning staff. Me and my partner had to make the bed before sleeping because we couldn't stomach sleeping on it because of how it was. Area is very loud, traffic, horns beeping, people shouting. On a positive note I did like the shower in the bathroom, the water pressure was excellent and it is in a brilliant location attending gigs and festivals in the area."

"Great hotel located just a 3 min walk from Manchester Picadilly Stn. Arriving into the room I was delighted at the size of the room and bathroom. Room came equipped with a small table, sofa and two soft chairs similar to what would be called a Jnr Suite in the US. Breakfast buffet at 15 Gbp was great value and top marks for providing individual pots of yogurt in lieu of the trendy open yogurts pans that very few people use due to health concerns. Big shout out to Mathew on the front desk who managed to get me into a room prior to the formal check in time which was greatly greatly appreciated after an overnight flight from Asia. Enjoy your stay!"

The a&o Manchester City Centre is located in Manchester’s lively Chinatown, just 8 minutes from Manchester Central Station. The hotel offers free Wi-Fi. The a&o Manchester City Centre is less than 10 minutes from Manchester Piccadilly Station.

"Check in was very awkward and slow, instead of just info to the person at the desk you have to scan a qt code and put in an extensive list of your information (which isnt always clear what its asking you for) and once you've done this it gives you a code. You then give this code to the desk person, where they proceed to confirm all the details you just submitted anyway so this seemed like a pointless step and judging by the queue at reception it creates quite a hold up and is generally not very welcoming. I also recieved no info about breakfast options either. After all this, the room was basic but clean so not much to complain about. Location is very handy so for the price not bad but check in needs to be wither made fully self check in or just be normal like everywhere else."

"Considering the price, which was a few hundred, and the room size, it wasn't bad. However, the standalone chair was quite dirty. Since I didn't have breakfast or use any other hotel services, to be fair, I gave four stars for everything else. Aside from the dirty chair, everything else was okay. The location is truly excellent. It's right by Oxford train station and Oxford Road, with plenty of supermarkets, Chinese supermarkets, Yang Guo Fu Malatang, Sichuan restaurants, hot pot places, and even Jiangzhehu-style noodle shops nearby. There's also a bus stop right outside the door."

The location of this property is excellent and was easily the highlight of our stay. Staff were friendly and helpful whenever we needed assistance, and the bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Unfortunately, there were a number of issues that affected our overall experience. The blackout blinds do not fully cover the windows, allowing daylight through the sides from very early in the morning, which made it difficult to sleep. We initially had to change rooms due to cleanliness concerns. In the first apartment, we found some soiled items in the bathroom bin and a heavily rusted tin opener. In the second apartment, there were unpleasant smells coming from the fridge and the cupboard under the sink, and while the tin opener was in better condition than the first, it also showed signs of rust. Some areas also appeared to have been missed during cleaning, including around the fridge hinge. The biggest disappointment was the comfort. The sofa beds were uncomfortable to sit on, with the cushions constantly sliding forward. The main bed was even more disappointing. It appeared to be two beds pushed together, was noisy whenever you moved, and provided one of the poorest nights’ sleep I’ve had in accommodation. By the end of our stay I was waking up with a sore, stiff back, which was particularly frustrating as this trip was supposed to be a break after several weeks of physically demanding decorating work at home. For a bed advertised as a large double, it also felt surprisingly short. We also experienced an issue with our room key after arranging a late checkout, which meant an unnecessary trip back to reception to have it reprogrammed. Noise from furniture being dragged around in the apartment above was noticeable during our stay as well. Overall, the apartment had the facilities we needed and the location is hard to fault, but the comfort, maintenance and attention to detail fell below expectations. While I appreciate the friendliness of the staff, I would think carefully before choosing to stay here again.

I had a very good stay at Leonardo Hotel Manchester Piccadilly. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the check-in process was quick and easy. As I was celebrating a special occasion, my room was kindly upgraded, which made my stay even more enjoyable. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed. The room is clean and comfortable, with lots of space to store luggage and stuff. I was quite surprised to see the coffee maker and refrigerator inside the room. The buffet breakfast is plentiful and the staff is friendly. The location is opposite to China Town with lots of nice restaurants for dinning. The only thing that could be improved is that room cleaning starts too early - at 9:00 am that I was woken up by the doorbell.

This hotel is in a great loacation, around a 10 minute walk from Oxford Road Station and about 15 from the gig we came to see. The lady at reception was very polite and friendly which made us feel welcome even though two young goths looked a bit out of place seeing as this was obviously a hotel for business people/confrences. The room was amazing for the price and beautifully clean, there was an iron and ironing board, a desk fan and a hairdryer already in the room. The bathroom was quite spacious and had perfect lighting. Even my fussy partner said the bed was very comfortable. Would absolutely reccomend and will definitely be staying again if I'm back in Manchester.

During my recent stay at this hotel, I found the overall experience to be enjoyable with top-quality fittings and furnishings. However, there were areas that required improvement. The hotel itself is pleasant, but enhancing the service and room cleaning would significantly improve the guest experience. A standard room was paid for but a disability-accessible room was provided. We requested to change it to a standard which was done immediately without any questions. No water bottles were provided in the room initially; they were only given on request and only two small bottles were provided. Additionally, the room cleaning service was unsatisfactory. Despite requesting it twice over 4 nights, the cleaner only changed the sheets once and neglected to take out the bins vacuum, replace towels or clean the bathroom. This was particularly disappointing given the length of my nearly week-long stay. The breakfast was beautifully presented with various options but unfortunately remained the same every day lacking any variation. Some areas were particularly poor. For instance, the scrambled eggs had a distinct smell and were overly watery. Adding tomatoes or simply varying the options every few days would have improved the experience. One concern we had was the cleaning team. Twice the cleaner used his universal card to enter our room without ensuring no one was present. My partner was in the shower and our young baby was asleep. We heard a knock but were unable to reach the door in time. Upon reaching it we realised he was already entering. This occurred twice and on the following day we decided to chain the door for privacy reasons. In other hotels we have stayed in, privacy is of the utmost concern for staff and they would never even risk opening someone’s locked door without making sure. A better system needs to be in place here.

The hotel was really easy to find, just around the corner from Starbucks! It was super noisy though! Really, really noisy! But the room itself was actually quite spacious. It even had a bathtub which was a nice bonus! However, the heating in the hotel was way too hot and made the air really dry. Plus, the front desk staff spoke a lot of what sounded like Indian English that I just couldn't understand, which led to me constantly having to say, ”Pardon me???”
