"One of the most beautiful hotels I've ever stayed in in the Galle area. It's a wonderful, beautiful, and peaceful hotel. It's also one of the most stunning beach hotels in Galle. It boasts a magical ocean view, spacious and clean rooms, and a truly fantastic pool. The staff are friendly, and their service is prompt. The breakfast is varied, and the place is suitable for both families and couples. I highly recommend staying here!"

"The hotel's exterior looked new, and the room was very clean. We received guava juice as a welcome drink during check-in. The staff was incredibly polite, and I was very satisfied. (Though there was a gecko in my room, lol.)"

"I have to say, Le Grand Galle was one of the two most satisfying hotels out of the eight we stayed at during our family trip to Sri Lanka. The hotel's location is excellent, right next to Galle Fort. It's about a 15-minute walk to Galle Fort, though you do pass the somewhat noisy Galle train and bus stations. It would be great if there was a direct path from the hotel's back entrance to the fort (there seemed to be a gate that was always closed, probably for security reasons). Every day, we'd look at Galle Fort from our room's balcony; both the daytime and nighttime views of the fort are spectacular and beautiful. The hotel's designer is truly brilliant, organically blending elements like parasols, loungers, a bar, pool, lawn, rocks, coconut trees, the ocean, the sky, and the ancient fort to create an unforgettable scene. A special tip: the hotel itself is an excellent spot for watching the sunset, even better than watching it from within the fort in my opinion (it adds elements like rocks and coconut trees). Don't miss it if you get the chance. The main drawbacks were that the air conditioning in the room was incredibly loud, so much so that we had to turn it off at night to sleep. Also, the multi-function massage bathtub in the room was broken, which was a bit disappointing. Additionally, the hotel's breakfast selection wasn't extensive, and the taste was just average. However, these minor flaws don't detract from the overall experience; Le Grand Galle is indeed a great choice."

"We absolutely loved the Araliya Hotel. It's a great hotel with a fantastic beach, sand, and sea. They have excellent sun loungers exclusively for guests, and the beachfront area is guarded, so you don't have to worry about outsiders taking them. The beach bar/restaurant is superb, with excellent service. They always have cold beer, delicious cocktails, fresh fruit, and fish. Every day, they'd bring out freshly caught tuna and announce it to the whole beach, which was quite a highlight. The sandy beach is gently sloping, the sea is warm, and the water is clear. You'll see a lot of families and children on the beach. It's definitely a family-friendly hotel, with about 80% Russian guests. The staff doesn't speak Russian (except for one person), but that's not an issue with the restaurants around the hotel, where many people, including taxi drivers, understand Russian. We really enjoyed everything. It has all you need for a relaxing vacation. The rooms are spacious and clean, and all have sea views. The bathroom is also quite large. Nearby, there's a street with restaurants and shops offering good prices. You'll find currency exchange offices everywhere; the rates are a bit lower than at the airport, but not by much. We truly loved our stay and will definitely be back, maybe with our kids next time. P.S. I'd like to give a special shout-out to Naveen, one of the restaurant staff members. He's a very pleasant, smiling, and responsive guy who went out of his way to make every guest comfortable. We were very impressed with his service."

"Excellent hotel in the heart of the fort. Our room was on the second floor, and although there's no elevator, the staff kindly helped us with our luggage both up and down. The grounds are beautiful and have a great atmosphere. The staff are very friendly. The Wi-Fi speed was good, and the power went out briefly a couple of times (a common issue in Sri Lanka). I'd happily stay here again!"

"We stayed at this hotel in February 2026. The location is absolutely brilliant! Right on the Indian Ocean! Literally a stone's throw away is a beach with huge sea turtles, and another beach perfect for swimming with fine, white sand. There are tons of cafes and restaurants nearby, as well as souvenir shops. A supermarket isn't far either, you can buy anything you need! The hotel itself is small, with a bed and a few pieces of furniture in the room. There's no fridge, TV, or kettle, but if you ask the staff, they'll happily provide hot water and dishes. Overall, it's a very basic setup, just enough for sleeping, and that's perfectly fine. The staff at the hotel are incredibly lovely and welcoming. They're always ready to help, offer advice, and call a taxi if needed. They're also very fond of children. The hotel is always fully booked, and many guests return multiple times. Our entire family was very pleased with our stay at this hotel. We'll definitely recommend it and will always remember it with warmth and love."

"This place is absolutely gorgeous in every way. My only wishes were that 1. There were enough pool beds for people staying (bit of a downer not to be able to guarantee a spot by the beautiful pool) and 2. That it was adults only instead of kid - friendly."

"This is a fantastic resort-style hotel. If you love nature, I highly recommend it! You can snorkel right off the beach and see small sharks, sea turtles, and plenty of fish. I was very satisfied with everything, especially the stunning sunsets from our room's balcony. The dining options are all international. There are about four restaurants: a buffet, a poolside bar, an Italian restaurant, and another bar. The breakfast buffet offers a wide and delicious variety of international dishes. The cleanliness is excellent, and the service is incredibly thoughtful. The front desk staff even remembered our names! After staying for three nights, they still recognized us at check-out. We didn't want to leave and will definitely be back!"
