"Absolutely loved this hotel! The natural environment here is fantastic. It's just a 10-15 minute drive from Tissa Lake. I arrived in the morning to the peaceful sounds of crickets and frogs. It was also a full moon that night, which made the scenery even more stunning. The swimming pool is impressively large too. I stayed on the ground floor, which meant I could step right out onto the lawn from my room. The hotel offers great value for money; the prices are reasonable and the rooms are quite spacious. It's noticeably cheaper than hotels situated closer to Yala National Park. I highly recommend booking the breakfast and dinner package. There aren't many other dining options nearby, and more importantly, the buffet is absolutely delicious!!! They offer a great variety of Western dishes, incredibly sweet fruits, and even sushi, making it very suitable for the Chinese palate. For our morning safari, we requested a packed meal from the hotel. It was incredibly generous, including water, various drinks, juice, sandwiches, and cake – truly more than we could finish! Upon our return, breakfast was still ongoing. I explained to a staff member that I was feeling quite hot and asked if I could get a drink. She was very accommodating, assuring me it was absolutely fine, but did clarify that since we had taken a packed breakfast, we wouldn't be able to have another full meal in the dining area."

"Treasure Wild Luxury Hotels around Yarra National Park, the flaws are not hidden In order to facilitate the next day to Yala National Park, I chose this wild luxury hotel near the park. I didn't expect it to be an unexpected surprise and a proper treasure choice! The hotel price is particularly affordable and the price is super high. The location is close to the lake, within walking distance, the lakeside scenery is excellent, the environment is quiet and quiet, the night is more charming, and the atmosphere is full. The dishes in the hotel restaurant taste very good and the daily dining experience is good. The most intimate thing is that considering that we have to enter the park early in the morning, we specially prepared a packed breakfast, and the details are full. The fly in the ointment is the Yarra Jeep service booked by the hotel. Because I didn't find a carpool partner, the price was high because the two people enjoyed a car alone; and the arranged vehicle was too shabby, and the engine could not catch fire on the return trip, adding a small episode to the itinerary. Leaving aside the small flaws of the jeep, the hotel has performed well in terms of location, dining, environmental sanitation, etc. As a foothold of Yarra National Park, it is highly recommended!"

"The service is good. But the hardware is too bad, there is no hot water for the bath. The door lock is old and there are mosquitoes everywhere in the house. It’s mainly right by the lake. It’s convenient to see the birds. Now I’m changing the hotel. It’s not far away. It’s about two kilometers. The price is half cheaper."

"A luxurious hotel with excellent interior design. The rooms are a bit dated, but there's still a colonial charm, even in the slightly worn furniture. We stayed in October. It was very uncrowded. The hotel was empty. We explored everything. We used the fitness center—there's a good selection of exercise machines. The hotel has live music at various times. Animals roam the hotel; we saw a jerboa, rabbits, mongooses, a monitor lizard, and monkeys in the trees by the golf course. Ask for half board—there's nowhere to dine nearby. The ocean is mesmerizing in its power and beauty. The waves roar like thunder. We didn't swim; the red flag was on, and the waves were nearly 3 meters high, with sand. Overall, we were pleased with our stay."

"Lankavatara offers a peaceful, secluded escape. The beach is beautiful and, for most of our stay, we had it almost entirely to ourselves. Do be aware that the sea is very rough, so it’s generally not suitable for swimming. The rooms have a rustic charm with basic amenities. While comfortable enough, I personally wouldn’t rate the property as a 4-star hotel. The Wi-Fi was also quite weak, which may be worth considering if you need a reliable internet connection. The staff were always willing to help when asked, although the service sometimes felt a little disingenuous and not always delivered with genuine warmth. Food service could also be quite slow at times, so it’s best to allow plenty of time for meals. One of the highlights of our stay was the surrounding area. A special mention goes to Upoint Restaurant, which serves exceptional home-cooked Sri Lankan seafood. The hosts there were incredibly welcoming and made for a memorable dining experience. Overall, we had a lovely stay. If you’re looking for a quiet, unspoilt beach, simple accommodation, and don’t mind a more relaxed pace of service, Lankavatara is a pleasant place to unwind."

"We had a wonderful time. The hotel and the staff were absolutely amazing. They took such great care of us and really ensured our holiday was special. It's hard to mention everyone by name but a particular mention to Chandana who was our head waiter. He went above and beyond for every meal we were there, and really looked after us. Also another mention to our gentleman from the pool (I'm sorry I forgot his name), but he also was really amazing and took great care of us. There was a resident turtle in the cove which we saw every day which just made it even more amazing. I would highly recommend this hotel."

"The room was large, but there were very few electrical outlets; all the outlets were plugged into light sockets, so you had to unplug them to charge your power bank or phone. The room was dimly lit, which might be the design, but we were worried about missing anything while packing our things. The food options were limited, but you could try their buffet, which wasn't expensive. The service was poor, and the staff's English wasn't very good. My friend got bitten on the finger by an insect in the bathroom, causing it to swell and turn red. When we went to the front desk for help, they were indifferent and said they didn't know if the bite had occurred on the hotel grounds. They didn't treat the wound immediately and even sent someone to the room to check what kind of insect it was. We just wanted some alcohol to treat the bite. What was supposed to be a pleasant trip turned sour. It's quite close to the zoo, about 15 minutes away, but we'll probably not stay here next time; staying by the lake would be more convenient."
