It's super convenient, just a 50-meter walk to the Starlight Night Market, so after a late stroll, you don't have to go far to get back to your room. The pool is very picturesque, and in the evening, you can enjoy the stunning night view of the Great Pagoda. The hotel is surrounded by lush greenery, giving it a very peaceful atmosphere. The room facilities are brand new, they deliver fresh fruit daily, and there's even a free airport pickup, which really takes the stress out of travel."

"Traveling with friends, there were 6 of us in total. The hotel balcony offers a view of the Golden Pagoda, and it's within walking distance of the Starlight Night Market. Even though it's on a busy street, it wasn't noisy at all; in fact, it added to the lively atmosphere. Right next door is a famous, long-standing 'Guo Qiao Mi Xian' (Crossing the Bridge Noodles) restaurant. Plus, the hotel has a super photogenic swimming pool. All in all, our stay was very pleasant."

"Cons: 1. The check-in staff were unsmiling and had a stiff attitude. The room had an odd smell when I entered, and it was noisy being street-facing. When I called to request a room change, I was told it was the last available room and no alternatives were possible. 2. The facilities are outdated and the decor is very rough. 3. The towels felt grayish and worn out, and there were no hand towels. 4. The bathroom and toilet share one door! This is illogical! I don't understand how this place has such a high rating. Pros: 1. Close to the departure point for Gaocheng. 2. The showerhead was comfortable."

For our first stop in Xishuangbanna with the kids, I chose the Dai King's Palace Thai-style hotel, right in the heart of Gaozhuang. And it turns out, that was an excellent decision! The Starlight Night Market is just downstairs, a 3-minute walk away. It's perfect for entertaining the kids, grabbing food, and taking photos, all in one go! 🏊 300㎡ Outdoor Pool: A Kid's Paradise As soon as we entered the hotel, we were amazed! The rooms are built around a massive 300㎡ outdoor pool. The pool is divided into a shallow area (0.8m deep) and a deep area (1.4m deep), and the water temperature was absolutely perfect. My kids jumped in and simply refused to get out. Lush tropical vegetation surrounds the pool, and the water is crystal clear, reflecting the blue sky beautifully. Adults can relax on the loungers by the pool, enjoy the breeze, and take photos – it really makes you feel like you're on vacation. 🌴 Thai Courtyard: Fun for Kids, Great for Photos Xishuangbanna is hot, so the kids could easily spend an entire afternoon playing at the hotel, allowing the adults to comfortably take photos nearby. The hotel has a Thai-style courtyard design, featuring Thai carved rooms and soft bedding. White walls contrast with dark railings, and tropical palm trees and banana leaves create a stunning backdrop. Every photo looks like it's from a Southeast Asian vacation! 📍 Unbeatable Location! Starlight Night Market Just Downstairs The location is truly impeccable – the hotel is right next to the Gaozhuang Starlight Night Market, a mere 3-minute walk away, and just 1 minute to the Grand Golden Pagoda. In the evening, after eating and shopping, it's just a short stroll back to the hotel, no need to rush for transportation. During the day, you can even hear the chanting from the Grand Golden Pagoda, which is incredibly soothing. Our room's balcony offered a perfect view for photos with the pagoda, an excellent spot! 🎁 Plenty of Welcome Benefits Guests receive a complimentary one-time airport/station pick-up service, and a delightful rainforest afternoon tea on the first night. Family rooms also come with children's toiletries – attention to detail at its best. 📸 Photo Tips: The pool and Thai architecture are fantastic photo opportunities. In the evening, when the sunlight hits the water, every shot turns into an Instagram-worthy masterpiece. I recommend wearing light-colored or brightly colored clothes; they go perfectly with the Thai backdrop. 💡 Tips: The hotel is in the core area of Gaozhuang, and parking is limited. If you're driving, it's advisable to contact the front desk in advance to reserve a spot. And remember to book ahead during peak season like summer! Of all the hotels we stayed at during this Xishuangbanna trip, the Dai King's Palace was one of the kids' favorites – splashing in the pool, having fun at the play area, and exploring the night market. It was all so convenient! The entire hotel has a Southeast Asian atmosphere, giving it a very exotic feel! I booked a suite, and the room was surprisingly large! The kids could run around freely in the room! The spacing between suites is perfect—elderly people can rest while children can relax without disturbing each other! After checking in, we could go directly to the Dai Ethnic Garden that night. We could then go to the Botanical Garden the next day after waking up naturally! Perfect?"

"I chose this hotel specifically for its heated pool, as my kids wanted to swim in January. At this time of year, you either need a shallow pool that gets enough sun to warm up, or a heated one. The infinity pool was indeed fun, great for photos and playing, but the water was a bit dirty. I'm not sure how often they clean it, but I could clearly see floating debris and cloudiness. The young lady at the 50th-floor reception was very friendly and enthusiastic, always greeting us and patiently opening doors and providing information. The facilities are excellent, especially for taking pictures, but the cleanliness was definitely lacking. As shown in the pictures, there was a noticeable foul odor as soon as we opened the door, and various yellow stains on the walls were quite disgusting. We stayed for two nights, and housekeeping didn't clean our room; they only replenished amenities. The carpet, perhaps due to its color, showed dirt quite prominently. The direct elevators were convenient and fast, and when we called for slippers and water, they were delivered quickly. If only they paid more attention to cleanliness details, it would be perfect."
