"This hotel is truly a victim of deceptive photos on social media (Xiaohongshu). There might be one window that's good for pictures, but besides that, it's all downsides. The room is quite run-down, and the most frightening thing is how poor the cleanliness is. The private hot spring tub in our room was severely moldy, and there were even many long strands of someone else's hair stuck in the corners... The public bathhouse was also unbelievably bad, especially the three small private hot spring rooms, where the wooden floors and tubs were so dirty they were slippery. I've stayed at many ryokans (one-night, two-meal stays), and this one's restaurant setup is the laziest. For all four nights we stayed, the main course required guests to cook it themselves, and there was absolutely no ventilation for smoke in the restaurant, so we were smoked out and smelled like food every evening. Also, definitely do not choose the later dinner seating. The front-of-house staff is understaffed and disorganized. When we went in for the later seating, many tables still had leftover food and dishes that hadn't been cleared, and we ended up waiting for dishes and eating until nine or ten o'clock."

"My stay this time was far from smooth. I booked a 17 sqm room, but upon arrival, the hotel said it wasn't available and offered a 13-15 sqm room instead, with no refund for the downgrade – absolutely unheard of! I've only ever known hotels to offer free upgrades when the booked room isn't available, never a downgrade without a refund. I arrived at 12 PM and, after being told my booked room was unavailable, I contacted Trip.com. I was met by 'Xiao Hong,' the most unhelpful customer service agent I've ever encountered. Despite calling multiple times over 5 hours, there was no feedback, and she repeatedly delayed responding, costing me dozens of yuan in call fees. Frustrated, I requested a new agent, and the issue was resolved by a supervisor in less than 15 minutes, finally demonstrating the level of service I expect from Trip.com. As a 16-year Trip.com Diamond member, I choose to book through them over other OTA platforms like ** (removed specific OTA name), even paying a bit more, precisely because of their customer service's ability to handle emergencies. This experience was truly disappointing, though I'm glad the customer service supervisor maintained the usual standard."

"Paid breakfast was pretty good. Hotel staffs are nice and friendly. But there was a miss communication with the parking. We messaged hotel a month before our arrival regarding to the parking. We were told there is only public parking and need to be reserved. The quote was 3000 yen/night. We googled that near by parking area 24 hr is about 2000 yen. Therefore, on the day we decided to park in pastel parking (a car park) next to the hotel. By the time we checked in, the self check in machine showed there is a private parking in the hotel building and there is also an option of parking at pastel parking (1000yen/day)! Then, we thought okay, since we already parked there we just chose the public parking option. The staff gave us a parking voucher and told us insert it to the parking machine (I interpreted it in that way….). We thought we just need to insert the voucher to the machine when we drive out….. but it didn’t work, so we paid by ourselves. Later on, when we were back to the hotel and checked with the staff, we are told that we need to insert the parking ticket first then insert the voucher after. They did make a refund and the staffs are quite patient about our requests. Well it’s not a big issue, but still don’t understand why they gave us a quote of 3000yen/ night in public car park and told us there is no parking spot at the hotel. Clearly, they have and way cheaper than 3000/night…. In addition, there were only one set of towel / person, if you go to the onsen, you need to bring them. But room clean need to make an extra payment if you are staying more than two nights(not the check out cleaning). So don’t forget to dry your towel after onsen. e"

"The single room facing the pier is suitable for a solo traveler. The room facilities are small and simple, but sufficient. The lobby reception is very welcoming. The restaurant is on the top floor, but the breakfast is average value for money. It is very close to Fisherman's Wharf and Nushimai Bridge, a few minutes' walk away. A taxi from Kushiro Station is about 800 yen."

"Located just 460 meters from Kushiro Station, a short walk away, I stayed here for 5 days. It was incredibly convenient to get around; train and bus stops were both within walking distance. You can even watch the Kushiro sunset from the hotel. The buffet breakfast was fantastic, with a wide variety of ingredients. The front desk staff were very polite and courteous, providing excellent service. The room was cleaned and tidied daily, making for a very comfortable and pleasant stay."
