"The hotel boasts an excellent location. In the evenings, there are plenty of restaurants in the vicinity. After dinner, it's a pleasant walk from the hotel to Nusamai Bridge for a stroll, and Fisherman's Wharf is just about a 10-minute walk from there. Guests can then return to the hotel to relax in the hot springs. The rooms are also very comfortable. While the breakfast spread at the hotel wasn't extensive, the quality was good. If I ever visit Kushiro again, I would definitely choose this hotel."

"Facilities: The rooftop onsen area has three pools with brand-new facilities. It's very relaxing to soak in them, and after a bath, you can use the massage chairs or read manga. In the mornings, you can enjoy unlimited Yakult, and in the evenings, there are four kinds of ice cream available for free. Cleanliness: The room was spotless. The mini-fridge had three complimentary bottles of mineral water, three apples, and pudding. The room was cleaned very thoroughly. Ambiance: The hotel feels completely new. Coming here after checking out of the Prince Hotel felt like traveling from the millennium to the new century, haha. Service: Every evening at 9:30 PM, the hotel offers free all-you-can-eat ramen. It has the local specialty soy sauce broth, and honestly, it tastes almost identical to the famous Uoichi ramen we paid for. Self-check-in and check-out are very convenient. The hotel breakfast also includes Kushiro Robatayaki and self-made leftover rice, so you don't need to spend money eating out. It's excellent value for money. Location: The location is also fantastic, directly opposite the MOO shopping mall, just a five-minute walk. It's very convenient for taking the 'White Bus' and the airport shuttle."

"Traveling solo in Kushiro as a Chinese national, I imagine there aren't many of us, but the front desk staff were absolutely wonderful. The breakfast selection was a bit limited. The location is super convenient, right next to the station, and just across the road from the bus stop, which is great for catching the White Bus. There aren't many convenience stores nearby, especially at night when it's quite dark and deserted. On the bright side, the hotel offers complimentary *ochazuke* in the evenings."

"The ocean-view room with its large glass windows was spacious, bright, clean, and tidy. Although it's an older hotel, the renovation made it almost look new. The hotel's construction was very solid, and the bathroom showerhead had great water pressure, which was a plus. It was also the only accommodation that provided bottled water. I came here to evacuate because I couldn't leave Kushiro temporarily due to the tsunami. The experience was good, except the food was a bit lacking."

"February 2026, Hokkaido – The Life I've Always Dreamed Of in Eastern Hokkaido! It's been six years since my last visit to Hokkaido, and I'm finally back in my favorite place, embarking on a long-awaited journey to Eastern Hokkaido! On the first day, we decided to head straight to Kushiro and check into the Kushiro Prince Hotel for convenience with our后续 itinerary. It was about a 10-minute walk from JR Kushiro Station to the hotel with our luggage. The main issue was the heavy snow and ice on the roads. We weren't wearing ice cleats, so we had to walk very carefully. The Kushiro Prince Hotel clearly has an older, traditional style, and the facilities are quite dated. Check-in was quick, and there wasn't much interaction with the front desk, perhaps due to a language barrier? However, they did try their best to answer any questions we had. We had a standard twin room; it wasn't large, but big enough for two large suitcases. There was no separate wet and dry area in the bathroom, likely due to space constraints. I'm not sure why there was no complimentary bottled water. The hotel's main advantage is its convenient location. The Akan Bus stop is right outside the hotel to the right. Everyone was lining up early. We checked out about 10 minutes beforehand, and since we didn't want to wait outside in the cold, we ended up at the back of the line. Kushiro is the starting point of this Eastern Hokkaido trip. Our packed itinerary is about to begin, and I'm a little excited and a little nervous!"

"February 2026, Eastern Hokkaido – The Life I Dream Of~ We arrived at Akan Lake Onsen Town around 3 PM via the White Bus. Since La Vista is a bit further out, the White Bus drops off guests staying there at the Akan Lake Bus Center, from where guests then take the hotel shuttle. Among our fellow passengers, some had pre-arranged a 3:30 PM shuttle via email with the hotel, but despite craning their necks, the shuttle was nowhere in sight. So I called them, and they said it would be there in 5 minutes. That basically confirmed it for me: the La Vista shuttle won't come unless you call them… because the hotel is only a 5-minute drive from the bus center. The small van was completely full, and even though the road was covered in ice and snow, the driver's skills were quick, accurate, and steady, getting us to the hotel swiftly. Check-in was a bit slow, but I wasn't in a rush. I took my time to admire the floor-to-ceiling windows and the view outside – a lake, trees, snow, and small animals, all quiet and beautiful. The lobby, though not large, was decorated warmly and comfortably. After 5 PM, they offer complimentary drinks and snacks here. Our room was spacious with an amazing view. Sitting quietly by the window, watching the snowflakes fall, I wished time would slow down even more. The atmosphere at La Vista is truly romantic~ The bathroom also offered direct views of the outside scenery. The room's facilities, layout, and amenities were all excellent, with comfortable colors and a novel, super spacious style. La Vista has three private onsen baths, no reservations needed – you can just enter if it's not occupied. The Free Lounge offers a variety of complimentary beverages. Perhaps it's because La Vista is a bit more secluded that it can create such a wonderful environment and ambiance. For those who haven't booked the buffet, make sure to stock up on food in advance, as it's pretty much wilderness around here. Aside from a slight complaint about the shuttle, I was very satisfied with the hotel's facilities and environment. If I have the chance, I'd love to spend 2-3 days here immersing myself in it – it would surely help me forget a lot of worries."

"booked run of house and were given lake view rooms upon check in. ymmv as we visited during early nov which is generally off-season. rooftop bath was ok, probably more of a novelty for couples to go onsen together, but still a good experience. breakfast quality is passable, but it makes up with a fairly large selection. its not an expensive ryokan anyway so no complaints. bed was soft, but i slept ok."

"The hotel lobby features many unique wood carvings, which is quite special. The staff are warm and welcoming. The room size is just right, and the bedding is comfortable. There are three hot springs, all of which are excellent and very relaxing. Both breakfast and dinner are buffet style with a rich and varied selection. Highly recommended."

"Although it's not a hot spring hotel, the bathrooms in the hotel rooms are very thoughtfully designed. There's a variety of bath salts to choose from in the lobby, followed by a larger bathtub with a faucet next to it, just like in a hot spring, so you can wash yourself clean before soaking in the tub. Just across the bridge from the hotel is Fisherman's Wharf and Shore Fireplace. Breakfast is delicious with three options, and I highly recommend it."

"We had a lovely stay at Hotel Gozensui in Lake Akan. The location is fantastic — the frozen lake and all the winter activities are just a short walk from the hotel. The staff were very helpful and welcoming, and even though English wasn’t widely spoken, they really tried their best to assist with anything we needed. Our room faced the lake and the view was beautiful, especially at night when we could watch the fireworks right from the room. A very memorable stay in Lake Akan."
