BBarrSGreat spot next to the park, modern and clean reception area with restaurant and bar within view. Check-in was effortless, got a room on the 7th floor and a nice view overlooking the park and beyond. Windows were double-glazed and had an additional side screen which meant no traffic noise from outside. Room was big and airy, sofa bed and big double bed, lots of overhead and ambient light available at night. Room had a bath, which was great after a long day walking, clean and plenty of towels. Breakfast was a buffet-style with lots of continental and hot items available. Would certainly stay again when in Southampton again
MMAYCATThe room is clean and have enough space for three of us. We can see the Ageas Bowl just in front of our window. The shower is strong enough to eliminate the fatigue. Recommend.
GGuest UserIf you want to get up early, you have to sleep above the kitchen. Hotel decor dated. Parking excellent, sometimes overloaded by long parking. Dinner is excellent. Breakfast good, service could be better. Hotel very noisy.
JJohnRLovely hotel, beautiful grounds. Feels like you're well outside Southampton but are only 15 mins away. (Daughter in Uni there)
Room was nice, we had exec but this isn't worth it to me. It only gives you a better coffee machine and we weren't in the room enough to use it. Save the £20.
No lifts so cases up to the third floor was a bit of a pain. If you're waiting for a ferry and have lots of cases then this could be an issue. We saw a few people struggle with this.
Breakfast was good, staff very friendly. We didn't eat there in the evening, burgers and chips sort of menu but the nearby pub, Chilworth Arms was really good.
The pool is great, small (16m) but very nice with jacuzzi, steam and sauna. Towels provided. Staff very friendly. Pool surrounding has quite slippery tiles though. Leisure facility is a bit away from the hotel, only 300 hundred meters from the hotel front but enough to need an umbrella if raining.
All in all, a good value pleasant hotel. Much cheaper than Leonardo's in Soton and still close to Uni etc.
GGuest UserHonestly, I have been to many hotels around Birmingham and London, and I also work at multiple hotels as security. I have seen how they are from inside and outside, but trust me, this five-star hotel truly won my heart. The moment I entered, it gave me an old-fashioned feeling. The furniture was amazing, and the view was breathtaking. The ability to play YouTube and watch movies added an extra layer of comfort to my stay.
The hotel’s location is incredibly convenient. Opposite the hotel, there are many food shops, and we went around 7:30 PM for food, which I thoroughly enjoyed. McDonald’s is just two minutes away, and a beautiful beach side is within a five-minute reach. The combination of luxurious accommodation and strategic location makes this hotel an absolute gem.
Overall, my experience was extraordinary. The five-star hotel exceeded all my expectations, and I’m definitely booking this hotel again in the future. If anyone is interested in a truly remarkable hotel experience that combines classic charm, modern amenities, and a perfect location, I highly recommend visiting and seeing this exceptional hotel for yourself. It’s not just a place to stay – it’s an experience that will create lasting memories
GGuest UserThis is for the Ibis hotel, not to be confused with the ibis budget which is next door.
Great little hotel. I was staying overnight for an early train and this hotel is situated a 5 minute walk away. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the room was clean and centrally heated, so no temperature control but I was warm enough and there is a fan in the room so I could have used that if I’d been too hot. Tea and coffee available in the room and a hairdryer.
I didn’t book breakfast as I was leaving early, but if I had they are currently offering breakfast in the Novotel hotel next door. This was explained at reception and there are notices in the lift to make sure people are aware.
All in all if you are looking for a comfortable room, welcoming staff and easy links between the train station and the cruise port I think it’s great value for money and would definitely recommend.
XXuhaocaiThis hotel is located next to the highway. It is simple like a motel and is surrounded by McDonald's, coffee shops and small supermarkets. It has complete living facilities. Although it is not luxurious, it is clean and comfortable enough to meet the needs of a good night's sleep. For travelers who are in a hurry, it is a convenient and affordable accommodation option.
GGuest UserI checked in at 3pm and the air conditioner did not work it was like a warm hairdryer. The temperature was 28c inside the room it was very hot a heat wave that day. I went down stairs and the reception was empty. I had to wait for 15 mins then
some one called raman eventually turned up and was uninterested to say the least. She told me that it could be controlled from behind the bar or something
like that but that is not true. I had to ask again 3 hours later this time she got some boy to come out from behind the bar to claim he had a control of all the
air conditioners in the hotel. Why the lies, after emailing trip .com they admitted the AC was faulty and I moved to another room. It was trip.com who helped me not the disinterested staff why didnt they move me the first time. Not impressed.
GGuest UserThe hotel is in a great, quiet location and it is a very beautiful building. The room was clean and pleasant, but it wasn't quite what I expected. Through Trip I thought I had booked one room up from the smallest option, but alas turns out I had not! The bed was also advertised as a standard double, it definitely is not in the smaller rooms, it is a small double, and this made sleeping for two a little uncomfortable. The room was also very hot even though we turned the radiator off and had the window open all night but I think this is just due to it being an older building, heat rises etc. The pool room really needs TLC. It is very overlooked and we felt really lets the hotel down. It's shame as it's a lovely space - even a quick lick of paint would bring it back to life if money doesn't allow for larger maintenance. Staff were all very friendly, especially the two we were served by in the restaurant for dinner. The food was okay but a little over priced but the service made up for that. All in all for a quick overnight stop it was fine.
CCHIA HSINAccording to Google map, it is easy to find, I arrived early and still let me stay, thank you very much! If you can provide a voucher for accommodation (the network is also available), you will make the stay more smooth! My room has a sink, the toilet and the bathroom are shared, the kitchen is large, but shopping nearby does not seem to be very convenient, about20-25 minutes walk from the Southampton Central train station, because I like to walk, so I also go to the theater!
