Amazing
JJubeJubeI booked this hotel for my husband who was on a business trip and decided to come along as it gave me a chance to visit Dublin. Am so glad I did. I had a polished, gracious welcome, a lovely room (thankfully facing away from the main streets) which was quiet, stylish but most of all, very comfortable. I enjoyed the vibe in the lobby, it’s well used by guests as well as locals and the breakfast was generous and extensive.
It’s always great when a hotel will continue to look after you after check out and my bags were taken care of and transport advice offered. Perfect stay!

GGuest UserHotel Review
I recently stayed at this hotel, and it was an excellent experience. The location is perfect—right in the city center, making it easy to access key business areas, restaurants, and public transport.
The hotel itself is very clean and well-maintained, with modern and comfortable rooms. The housekeeping service was efficient, ensuring a spotless environment throughout my stay. The staff was professional and accommodating, always ready to assist with any help.
This hotel is a great choice. The Wi-Fi was reliable, and the quiet atmosphere made it easy to work. Overall, a great stay—highly recommended for anyone.

LLiz MsiaSuperb staying experience! If not because of I needed to catch an early flight, I would have fully enjoyed my stay in Clown Plaza Hotel.
Worth paying for the price.
GGuest UserIt was okay overall — the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. However, the hotel is located near the railway station, and you can see the trains passing by from the window, which might make it a bit noisy. That said, the rooms are well soundproofed, so it didn’t bother me much. The breakfast was quite basic and overpriced, costing £17 per day.

CColin CraigThe hotel is beautiful and steeped in history. Breakfast was very nice and location is convenient for the airport. My only issue was we stayed in room 003 and in the morning about 4am delivery trucks starting driving back and forth down the side alley which actually woke us up as the window was open. One of the trucks even decided to back up down the alley with a constant beep beep beep which was really annoying. I'm not sure why he just didn't turn around but clearly he chose not to. The other small issue was the shower took forever to drain but this is an easy fix which the hotel said they would look after. Other than that, the stay was wonderful.
GGuest UserThis time I booked it for my friend, who also stayed here when he went to Dublin last year. The breakfast was very rich and the ingredients were super fresh. The hotel used Beyond brand toiletries, which was great 👍

GGuest UserWe arrived around 5.30pm and stayed only one night. The welcome drink was a nice touch but however in the morning there was lots of banging next door to our room. My husband was up all night with a cold so we hadn’t slept much. When we walked out of our room at 9.30 am to have breakfast the cleaners were sitting in armchairs with their vacuums and cleaning g products. It felt like they were waiting for us to go. When we returned to our room to pack up ( check out is 12) there was a knock at our door at 11.30 by cleaners. It felt like a lot of pressure for us to get out and no privacy as they were siting outside.
The staff at breakfast hovered and were on top of us and asked us to order straight away before we even read the menu. The wait for the food was long and my eggs were cold when they came out.
There is no lift to our floor so passing the cleaners sitting in armchairs we also passed cleaners sitting on the stairs. The whole experience felt unwelcoming and not private.
The hotel it self is well located and beautiful interiors but wouldn’t stay there again. We have stayed at a lot of boutique and 5 star hotels all over the world and this was just average.

TTeacherTravelTimesI decided to ditch staying in the city centre based on my below par experiences there on my last trip. When looking on Trip.com, Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel in Dalkey was the same price as several dorm rooms in the city centre when I looked.
Getting there from Dublin Airport was relatively straightforward. I took and Aircoach from the airport to Dalkey/Ulverton Road and then walked for about 15 minutes. Up to the hotel entrance.
The hotel is fairly old fashioned but personally I found it very charming. The staff were well-trained in the art of hospitality, the rooms were clean, locals were in and out of the bar, restaurant and leisure centre.
Furthermore, the room was spacious with tea and coffee making facilities. The tv had a nice range of channels and the bathroom had a working shower and an abundance of towels. One thing missing was a toothbrush, toothpaste and shaving kit. I was told that you can get slippers on request as well.
Get the breakfast. It’s €16 and it’s a buffet style with a delicious selection of hot and cold food. There’s rashers, sausages, hash browns, pancakes, the works. I wish I could’ve eaten more! I loved that they had a wide range of ages working there as well. One of the staff tripped when she went to ask if everything was ok and she said ‘I’m fine, I’m falling for you!’ It was then that I knew that I was home.
The leisure centre is one of the best I’ve come across in a while. I’ve stayed in so many places where it’s literally an empty room with a few bits of old equipment but they had loads of weights, treadmills, bikes, etc. They do classes and physiotherapy as well. The pool and jacuzzi were also excellent. Plenty of ages in both as well but it wasnt overcrowded so you’ll get a few lengths in if you want.
Lastly, make sure to go for a walk about Dalkey and the surrounding areas. I spent the morning walking down to the Vico Baths, the Forty Foot (both swimming locations) and passed through Dalkey Village. Plenty of people will be out with their family and friends whether it be for a walk, bike ride, swim or a coffee and a chat. Ditch Dublin City and say yes to Dalkey!
PPazhoujingjingziFacilities: The hotel definitely shows its age, which is understandable after so many years in operation, but it's incredibly well-maintained.
Cleanliness: Very clean.
Environment: Very clean.
Service: The female staff member who checked me in appeared to be of Indian descent, and I had a little difficulty understanding her accent.
I would definitely choose this hotel again. The city rail station is right next door, making it extremely convenient for getting around!

CCollin XiaNice hostel for a short travel stay. Rooms are equipped with several bathrooms, making it super easy to access even during the rush hour. Not far from the busiest streets in Dublin, around 10mins of walk you are at the city center. This hostel even offers free breakfast and free milk all day long. Highly recommended!
