Great
AAiziI stayed from August 21st to August 23rd.
The toilet overflowed during my stay.
I had been bothered by the smell since day one.
The toilet looked nice and clean, but the smell was unavoidable and I thought maybe the water pressure was weak.
The morning of the second day, the toilet started to drain poorly after use and finally overflowed.
I contacted the front desk, and a worker and cleaning staff came, cleaning and performing emergency repairs. They politely apologized, but that was the end of it.
I was sure that the person in charge would apologize and explain the situation later, but nothing happened, and when I checked out, there was no ”apology for the inconvenience.”
This is probably because the staff were not informed of the issue.
I have never experienced a toilet overflowing during a stay, and it should never have happened.
I think they should have taken appropriate action, such as changing my room.
This is because every time I use the toilet during my stay, I worry, ”What if it won't flush again?” and it's disgusting to see sewage overflowing onto the floor.
Even if it was busy season and a room wasn't available, I think a polite apology is only natural.
I have to wait in the room until it's cleaned, which takes up a lot of time.
More than anything, it was something that deserved to ruin what should have been a fun time, and I can't believe they were okay with such rude treatment.
It's beyond normal.
Was it because I was a guest who booked through an overseas website?
As we were staying to mark our anniversary and had children with us, I didn't want to make a fuss and so gave up and kept quiet, but this was among the worst possible hotel behavior and I was disappointed.
WWendy1011002Hoshino Resort offers a really comfortable environment. Even if you arrive late, there are food trucks outside and dining options available within the hotel. Plus, you'll find a few shops and convenience stores nearby, all within walking distance. Because it's a bit suburban, it's not noisy at all, making it very peaceful. However, this location is definitely more convenient if you're traveling by car.
CcjessieThe hotel is new and clean overall. The breakfast is Chinese style, with a wide selection and decent taste. The jacuzzi in the room is great, and bath salts are readily available in the lobby. The only downside is that the hotel doesn't have any other facilities besides the swimming pool. It cost over 2,000 yuan per night when I booked, which is on the expensive side.
MM272330****Pros:
1. The hotel is close to the Cape Manza scenic spot, with many restaurants and convenience stores nearby.
2. The hotel offers a wide range of water activities, including but not limited to banana boats, jet skis, an inflatable water park, glass-bottom boats, and sunset cruises. If you're not planning on visiting the outer islands, you could easily spend a whole afternoon here.
Cons:
1. The hotel is a bit old. The lobby has no air conditioning 🥵, and the room decor and furnishings feel dated. The shower pressure in the bathroom 🚿 isn't great either.
2. The outdoor pool closes at 6 PM, and the beach only stays open until 5 PM. I won't even mention other times, but Okinawa right now is scorching hot and sunny. The only time you can really enjoy the pool or ocean without getting baked is closer to sunset (unless you don't mind the sun, then never mind what I said). But then you only get to play for a short while before you have to leave!! 😅
GGuest UserThere are so many fun activities in the hotel. If you stay for three nights in the off-season, you will get free lunch. You can also participate in paid activities at a discount. It is a paradise for children. This year, it feels like the off-season is not off-season. All rooms are fully booked. Fortunately, the weather is good. Everything is worth it.
SSunset 937Beautiful private resort hotel on top of a hill overlooking the Onna coastline. Very kind and attentive staff. The high floor rooms are renovated and well equipped. Excellent amenities and breakfast
TTraveller4444If you’re traveling solo and are not planning on staying in a resort then I’d definitely recommend here. Very convenient location which can be accessed directly from the airport using the Okinawa airport shuttle. Right next to the beach and a 7/11 with restaurants also close by. If you’re not renting a car you can also use the local bus services to go both north and south. Overall a very good experience staying here
GGuest UserIt is an old-style Japanese inn, a bit old, but the place is big enough with tatami, which is suitable for families with children. The waiters are friendly and there is free parking nearby. In particular, the breakfast is delicious. The hotel is close to the pier, and the hotel has fishing rods for you to borrow for fishing👍
Tthat DamianExcellent location and service, the location is superb, being close to not only beaches, but also in-between Yomitan and Onna (and OIST university, if you'd like to visit your friends). There's also a combini right next doors(!. Cape Maeda, Zakimi Castle is also all at cycleable distance!
GGuest UserThe room looked clean, but when I walked to the tatami place to see, it was actually full of hair and a lot of sand dust, and then carefully checked the entire room floor, I can only say that there is a lot of dust, a lot of sand and a lot of hair! I can't believe it..... Later, I wiped the floor all over, and the pillow shook the dust before I had a way to rest and would not choose to stay again.
