Great
SSarah Lois YongA 15-minute bus ride away (depends on traffic) from the Gwangjusongjeong KTX Train station. A hotel with very cheerful and friendly staff! Bright, clean and spacious room with toiletries that smell so good (relaxing tangerine scent). Bed is really comfortable. Good sound-proofing (for light sleepers).
Breakfast is a self-help bar. I was too shy to cook noodles and fry eggs in front of other guests. Gimbap (seaweed rice rolls) was good with my coffee.
Recommendations for food and places of interests were compiled neatly in a folder in the room. I tried the 낙지 (baby octopus) restaurant and visited the Asia Culture Centre. A worthwhile trip!
Aside from Naver Map needed to navigate the location of the hotel from the bus stop, I was quite pleased with everything else.
AAnonymous UserThe transportation is very convenient. The hotel is right at the KTX station, across the road and into the inner street. It is easy to find the hotel. There are bus stops, subway stations, convenience stores, restaurants, OY, and coffee shops within 3 minutes, which is suitable for travelers who take the train to Gwangju.
The room is big, with independent air conditioning, styler and large TV. The hygiene is acceptable. The bathroom may be too big, so the cleanliness can be improved in some places. There are hairs and stains in the bathtub.
The hotel also has free breakfast, which is good overall.
GGuest UserPros
Excellent Location: The hotel is conveniently located near the metro line, making it easy to access the airport and main train station.
Soundproofing: The soundproofing is impressive, allowing for a restful night’s sleep without disturbances from outside noise.
Great Dining Options: There are plenty of good food options nearby, adding to the overall experience.
Cons
Bright Control Panel Lights: The orange light from the temperature control panel is excessively bright at night. Additionally, the centralized light control panel emits a very bright blue light. Even after turning off the main lights, these panels create a glowing ambiance that can be quite annoying. In Japan, similar panels allow users to turn off the lights on the control itself, which would be an improvement here.
Conclusion
Overall, while the location, soundproofing, and dining options are excellent, the overly bright control panel lights detract from an otherwise enjoyable stay. I hope the management considers making adjustments to enhance guest comfort.
GGuest UserThe hotel location is good and the room is very spacious
There is even a table on the sofa
So it is comfortable
The building is a bit old, so it is not new, but it is clean
When I went into the room I stayed in, it smelled a bit of cigarette smoke
But it was okay when I turned on the air conditioner
Breakfast is also delicious for this price!
KKliTorThere were 15 storeys in our hotel. Our room was on the second floor. It was quite big. There was one double bed, two single beds, a bathroom and a balcony in it. The view from the balcony was unforgettable – serene infinite sea and lush greenery.
There was a big restaurant in our hotel. We had our breakfast there. The food at the restaurant was delicious and varied.
There were two large swimming pools in the hotel. One swimming pool was only for adults, however, the other swimming pool was for everyone. By the swimming pools there were bars where we could get snacks and ice-cream. There was also a gym with a sauna, a small tennis court and a gift shop in our hotel.
I really liked our holiday in Malta and I hope that one day we will go back there!
BBeau BonitaFeel like you stay in the middle of myeongdong shopping street and easy taking bus about 20mins to hotel from Gwangu station. The room is big, separating bedroom and living room with the vintage style, seems old fashion but clean unlike bathroom. Overall is good but it is quite taking time from GJ station.
EEffyOhhWe had booked a deluxe double room for 3 people and were told the day we were arriving that it wasn't possible. Trip contacted us to sort it out and we were ready to pay an extra room and sorti it later. But when we arrived, they surprisingly were very nice about it and didn't mind when they saw ”reservation for 3 people” so we got a nice room for 3 people and they even gave us extra amenities (shampoo, shower gel...)
We also had breakfast for the 3 people (which was also surprising as it said for 2) nothing amazing but fresh fruits and a few other things we didn't eat.
Staff were very very friendly and accommodating so i would recommend and also visit again if I'm going back to gwangju.
AAnonymous UserWe arrived and our reservation had not been registered, so our room was not ready. The lady who received us was very friendly, and suggested that we would go for dinner, while the room would be prepared, and so we did.
The room is quite small but nice, the shower was coming out of the sink?!? Not really practical/nice. For breakfast, you have to wash your own dishes, cups and cutlery at the end ;-)
Rrrtt31Located near Chonnam University. There's an ensuite bathroom, a working TV and even a heated blanket, so it was a comfortable stay during winter. The bathroom is small so everything will get wet when you take a shower, but it wasn't an issue for me.
Very helpful host, they even gave me a SIM card with data and Korean number after knowing I was staying in Korea for a month.
Overall a pleasant stay in Gwangju. I personally feel location is also good with CU right outside and easy connection with buses around.
GGuest UserAlthough it was a little old, it was overall a satisfactory accommodation. Mano is a place with motels and hotels nearby, and there are many restaurants, so it is a good location.
