Guest UserFacilities: The facilities are excellent. It has a kitchen where you can cook, and the cutlery and cookware are as shown in the picture. The suite has TVs and heaters in both the living room and bedroom, making it very warm. The bathroom is spacious, and there's plenty of counter space around the sink for your belongings. Free parking is provided, and it's very convenient to park right below your room.
Cleanliness: The place is clean and tidy. The countertops were dust-free, and I didn't find any dirty spots.
Location: The accommodation is in a great location, surrounded by several motels. It's in the city center, making it easy to get to all the main attractions. You can walk to the University of Otago campus in five minutes and enjoy a leisurely stroll there. Dunedin Railway Station and the Cathedral are also very close, so you can explore the city on foot.
Service: The service was the absolute best! This hotel is run by a couple. When we checked in, the wife assisted us. She warmly and kindly recommended places to visit and even drew them out on a map for us. It's the first time I've encountered such thoughtful hosts. That highlighted map was incredibly helpful for our itinerary in Dunedin. I heard both husband and wife are very kind, warm, and friendly. If you're looking for a place to stay for a night in Dunedin, this is definitely an excellent choice.

Perfect accommodation for couples. Cost and romantic. Accommodation is well maintained and spotless. Staff very friendly and helpful. 5” drive to Lanarch castle. Free admission to the castle for Camp Estate customers. If possible book Room3 which has a fantastic view of Dunedin. Plenty of cosy areas in the cottage for lounging an relaxing. Only problem is it’s isolated and hence meals may be an issue. You also need your own transport to get there . One small issue during the stay was the room fireplace doesn’t work despite best efforts of the staff to rectify it. Highly recommended.

小妞兒This hotel is very close to the city center, making it convenient to go anywhere. There's also parking right outside the hotel entrance, which is great for travelers with cars. The rooms have a lovely artistic feel, and the outdoor spaces are also filled with an artistic atmosphere. I loved it!

Michael V.We were in the“Seabreaze“ apt, which was very clean and had the exact great views over the beach as described. The bed was comfy and the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our breakfast. While it was cold outside, the heating inside kept us warm and cozy. Parking in the garage underneath, or right beside the building for a larger car. Important to mention the Italian restaurant just 100m away at the corner, which is our absolute favourite when coming to Dunedin! We highly recommend staying at the Esplanade Apartments and will book again in the future.

Decent, average stay. The hotel is very close to Octagon Square and the church. However, due to an issue with Trip.com and their agent, they unilaterally changed our booking from a queen bed + single bed room to a queen bed room without informing us. Luckily, after communicating with the front desk on-site, they were able to add a rollaway bed.

Guest UserThe hotel is located in the city center, only 5 minutes walk to the First Church and about 10 minutes to the train station. Parking is convenient and there are many places to eat. When checking in, there is no front desk and you have to call. The hotel is old but very clean. The elevator is too old and a bit scary. I bought bread for breakfast at the supermarket. There are bowls and basins.

The room was clean and spacious, and there was a large garden outside the window, which could be opened. The hotel is at the northernmost end of Danidine, with a beautiful environment and free parking, but a bit far from the city center, about 2km, need to drive out, we parked the car in the supermarket parking lot in the city center, free parking for 90 minutes.

I stayed at the Law Courts Hotel recently, and it was a bit of a mixed experience. The building is very old and hasn’t had much renovation. The bathroom still has those separate hot and cold taps, which are inconvenient, and the carpet looked quite worn and not very clean—it definitely feels like the place could use some updating.
That said, the location is fantastic—right in the heart of Dunedin, so it’s super convenient for getting around. It’s also very affordable, which is a big plus if you’re on a budget. Just keep in mind that being so central means it can be noisy; Saturday night, in particular, was hard to sleep through with all the street noise.
Overall, if you’re after a budget-friendly place in a great location and don’t mind the quirks of an older hotel, it’s worth considering. But if you’re looking for something more modern and comfortable, you might want to look elsewhere.
