Great
AAxellyOur stay at the Black Swan Hotel was truly amazing. Originally, we were booked at the Hana Lodge, but due to renovations, we were moved to their sister property in the heart of Rotorua. Despite the change, we were pleasantly surprised by the excellent service.
The room amenities were incredible. We had a free mini bar that was replenished daily, a large, comfortable bed, and breathtaking views of the lakes. The room was exceptionally clean, and all the staff members were incredibly helpful and courteous.
The breakfast served from 7 am was delicious! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Rotorua.
GGuest UserThe room facilities are excellent! You can even feed alpacas, which is highly recommended! The only minor issue is that one of the alpacas is a bit naughty – it bullies the smaller ones and spits.
DDan WuangLocation is excellent with lot of cafes and restaurants.
I took the Intercity coach which dropped off at the tourist information site. From there it is a less than 5 minutes straight walk and then turning right to reach the hostel.
Very friendly and helpful receptionist however do note it is closed at 6pm.
Toilet and shower areas are very clean despite huge group during my stay. Shower gel and towel are provided which is great for me.
I stayed in private single room which is good enough for me.
Have kitchen with fridges, microwaves, stoves , utensils, pans , cleaning soap…… paid washing machines.
U can parked your luggage after checkout for free.
Walking distance to Rotorua Central Mall which has a food court and McDonald n KFC for slightly cheaper meal options.
Entrance to hostel are always locked with passcode thus felt safe .
I will definitely stay there if I am in Rotorua.
GGuest UserGreat location, with 10-15 minute walk to city center. The room is good size, and bed is comfortable and clean. Staff are incredibly helpful. The only downside is that they don’t provide slippers and toiletries, so remember to bring your own ones.
PPhiL.PThis is a great hotel. The room facilities are very new and clean. Although the window cannot be opened, you can directly see Lake Rotorua. The hotel's location is very close to the city center, and you can reach Rotorua's food street just around the corner.
However, I have a love-hate relationship with the hotel's laundry room. Both the washing machine and dryer are free to use, and detergent is automatically dispensed, making it very convenient with one-button operation. But later in my trip, I developed contact dermatitis, or a skin allergy. The doctor said it was likely caused by wearing clothes with detergent residue after soaking in hot springs. While it's not the hotel's fault, I still recommend rinsing clothes a few extra times if you use the hotel laundry, if you have the time.
VvenilimThe hotel is very clean, strategic location, many shops and eateries, walking distance to the skyline.
This is my first time staying at a hotel but I feel like I am treated like family by the hotel staff.
We arrived in the middle of the night, and the hotel staff still served us warmly and friendly, the check-in process was very easy and fast.
The information was also very brief and clear.also quite a lot of car parking available.
The next morning,we were immediately greeted with a good morning greeting with smiling faces from the hotel staff.
The breakfast menu was also varied and delicious.
There was one super kind auntie from the hotel staff who enthusiastically offered our children to add food portions, she said she considered our children like her own. This hotel really feels like home.
We will definitely stay at AWA Hotel again another day.
Eelf777The location is fantastic, with both the food street and the lake just a 5-minute walk away. The front desk staff were really nice; even though the hotel was fully booked, they managed to find us a satisfying room on a higher floor. The hotel has a hot spring bath, which wasn't too crowded and was open until 11 PM. The only downside is that the changing room is a bit small and basic. The complimentary milk in the room was delicious, but breakfast was just so-so.
GGuest UserThere are a lot of cats, the boss is also very kind, but unfortunately the nearby residents are noisy enough, noisy during the day to the night, I don't know if it is a sound insulation problem or a problem of the quality of the residents.
GGuest UserI was really pleasantly surprised when I stayed at Distinction Hotel this time!
Originally I only booked an ordinary superior room, but we arrived early. The front desk said that the room was still being cleaned, so they were very considerate and upgraded us to Deluxe Twin Room for free! I really didn't expect it~ and the staff were super polite throughout the whole process, which made me feel very warm.
The room was bigger than I thought, with two large beds that were soft and comfortable, a desk and two comfortable blue sofa chairs, which were very convenient whether I was sitting and browsing my phone, drinking coffee or packing my luggage.
The whole check-in process was very smooth, and the service was also very good. It felt like a hotel that ”cares about the guest experience very well”, and the details were arranged very considerately. I didn't expect that an ordinary check-in would become such a happy experience~
RRuby PoThe overall experience was very disappointing. The service desk was always occupied since there was only one staff member available, which made check-in and any requests very time-consuming. The biggest issue was the hot water kettle in the room—it was in terrible condition, with visible dirt and stains. I needed to boil water for my baby, but it was impossible to use safely. This was a nightmare and left me very dissatisfied with the stay.
