GGuest UserI was very disappointed with my stay. There was a strong and unpleasant smell of sewage in the rooms, which could also be detected from the hallway, even 10 meters away. I was on the 5th floor, and despite the hotel’s reputation, this was not what I expected.
Additionally, loud music from a nearby bar or restaurant continued until midnight, making it very difficult to sleep. I had to keep the window open due to the smell, and so did my colleague in the neighboring room — but with nighttime temperatures around 8–9°C, the room was uncomfortably cold.
Overall, the experience fell far below expectations for a hotel with such a good name.

There is a small convenience store next to the hotel that opens until 12 midnight.
However, wifi was not working on rooms in the second floor of the hotel for the entire day. Wi-Fi was fine on ground floor, and 3rd to 5h floors.
Level 2 seems to be under construction or having an industrial look compared to other floors.

Opened in 1886, the building is beautiful, the rooms are luxurious, and it is located in the city center. There is also a massage service in the room, and the charge is about HK$760 for two hours, which should be considered cheap in Europe

CCeline ArgyropoulosThe stay was really great! the communication was smooth. The flat is clean and has everything one needs. I would ask the owner to consider adding a small trash bin in the bathroom, for women who need to dispose of certain things, without having to go back to the flat (my flat had a completely separate private bathroom, so I had to go through a small corridor to go back and forth, but this corridor is protected by a main door and gives access to only the flat and another one). The second suggestion would be to leave a roll of plastic bags, for the bin in the kitchen.
The location is a bit far from the center, so if you want to stay for a short period, I would advise another location (it takes around 30min to get to the center). The area is rather quiet, although Bucharest is known for the heavy traffic (and, apparently, many speed drivers and cars with tuned exhausters?).
The washing machine and the drying rack was a very nice bonus, they even leave some pods to do two loads. overall really great!

A special mention goes to the receptionist, who was incredibly helpful throughout our stay. She provided us with amazing suggestions for places to visit in Romania, turning our holiday into an incredible experience. The breakfast at the hotel was fantastic, offering a wide variety of fresh and delicious options that catered to all tastes. It was the perfect way to start our days of sightseeing.

Whether you're in town for business or leisure, Mercure Bucharest offers a welcoming and comfortable stay. LLyubomirThe hotel is located close to the center of Bucharest, in a calm and safe area, in around 10 mins walking to the closest metro line. The bus which goes directly to the airport stops nearby as well. Close to the hotel is located a Carrefour supermarket and several restaurants + an embankment full with bars. The staff is super friendly, helpful and speaking good English. The rooms are spacious and clean, with new quit AC and everyday the housekeeping is leaving new towels, tea, shampoos. There're two lifts, a restaurant where the breakfast is served and also a viewpoint. The breakfast is delicious and diverse, but it's the same every day. Several kinds of sausages, omelette, coffee, juices, croissants, jams, cornflakes, etc. Definitely recommend if you're on a business trip.
