I was particularly impressed with the manager of the hotel 'Moyn' who was most accommodating, granting my expressed wish, via email to have a view by the Great Ouse River - ( if available) cute size, very clean and shower large. I had the most amazing view day and night. The TV wasn't working as well as it should, and a staff member 'Millena' tried to assist. She offered a new room but also, complementary breakfast for our troubles. I would come here again. It's always worth asking the manager, if your room can be changed at last min. Thank you for your service. The hotel has a back parking area, very close to the town centre, walking distance. Wonderful walks by the Ouse, with markets too. Beautiful scenery.

My granddaughter had a fifth birthday party so I booked a stay for the night to save the sixty miles journey back to Essex . Maths came into this and holiday inn came top of the pile with breakfast thrown in so a no brainer . But as you can see by my ratings for cleanliness etc this hotel is way better than you would expect . The room we had was very nicely decorated and spotless. The bathroom was the same but there are tiny little details that might go unnoticed, like the bath towels are size xl and the shower is quality , the bed mattress is top quality . I could go on , but for my money I feel I got every penny . Breakfast was buffet style , so cereal , full English ,tea coffee juice , fruit , eat as much as you like . Microwave in reception , where else do you see that ? Reception toilets spotless. This is an eye opener for me as travelodge used to be my go to . But no more

When I arrived the self-check in was fine but no map of the place or signage to rooms meant I had to ask other guests to direct me. There was no-one on reception or to be seen other than this kind couple. Later I went to get a drink and found that the bar was closed and had to order it after hunting down a member of staff. When they said I couldn't just pay for my beer but needed to pre-authorise my credit card for £50 (so I would need to check it before I left in the morning) I thought I would just go to a local pub and asked where I might find one. The main doors were locked and the only exits where via the car park or a dark scrubby alley. Needless to say as a lone female I didn't fancy this. I decided I didn't need a beer that much...I turned to go back to my room and a kind waiter took pity on me and got a beer for me and allowed me to just pay for it. No idea why this wasn't possible for the receptionist to agree to? Didn't love it. Maybe it is better on a week night.

The staff went out of their way to make our stay special. They made my hubby a marguerita cocktail for our anniversary meal, even though it wasn't on the the menu, and provided ice for my knee injury. Housekeeping kept our room stocked with all necessities, reception staff were warm, welcoming and friendly. Even the guy who came to fix our lamp was friendly and informative. Food was good, though could have been a bit warmer on occasions, room was excellent, though we did have the Kingfisher Suite! We paid a bit over the odds but it was worth it for the attentive staff and great service. I would visit again

The scenery at the door is very beautiful, there are rivers, parks, big geese, flowers and grass. It is also convenient to eat downstairs, there are many customers, and the voice is full. The first floor is all a restaurant, and there are many tables outside. But it's bad to eat downstairs to facilitate business. At 8 o'clock in the evening, I wanted to go to bed early because of the time difference, but my head kept buzzing, and my headache collapsed, especially lying on the bed. It felt like the sound of a certain machine, I thought it was a fresh air system. To the corridor, I found the whole corridor was this louder sound. Knowing that changing rooms is the same effect, but I can't resist the enthusiastic suggestion of Miss Ctrip, I went down to the front desk. People say it is kitchen equipment. Ha! I can say that there is a problem with the structure of this house, and the resonance is so obvious. This is the rhythm that makes people stand in the room. The front desk said the kitchen would stop after 10 o'clock. No way, go to the restaurant downstairs to have a cocktail, and stay up until 10 o'clock to go to bed. In the future, the hotel should be cautious about this kind of large-scale restaurant on the first floor.

Decent hotel! Has everything you need (nothing luxury but that’s to be expected for the price). My room was clean and warm and the shower had a decent pressure. The receptionists were grea. Especially Victoria, she was absolutely lovely, super high levels of customer service and went above and beyond to make my time here 5/5 stars.

My two night stay at the Manor was probably the worst hotel visit I have ever experienced. It began with my journey from reception to the room. I was put in a room that couldn’t have been further from reception, approached via a confusing maze of corridors. It was on the second floor but I had to contend with some steep steps. What I didn’t understand at that moment was why, during the prior completion of the online check-in procedure they have initiated, had I needed to indicate my age. This information could surely be useful when considering the allocation of rooms and their whereabouts; I am 76. Why else do they need it? However, I never wish to play the ‘age’ game so I persevered and managed adequately with the climb. Once I arrived at the door of my room I simply couldn’t get it open and thought it might be a problem with the card-key. However it was clearly unlocking, I could hear it as soon as I tapped the lock with the card. I had to push the heavy old door really hard and it eventually gave way. However, to my shock there was a step down immediately on the other side. There was no warning about this anywhere. With my bag in hand I literally fell into the room, the door swinging closed behind me. I then found myself in total darkness; it was a winters evening fairly late. I felt around me and found two light switches either side of the door. Neither worked. I then turned on the torch of my phone and saw a lamp sitting in a corner and turned it on. I was in a lobby area. I then saw the darkened bedroom and again there was a switch but it didn’t work. I then discovered that this switch on the wall of the entrance to the bedroom actually connected to two bedside lamps! I only discovered this by a process of switching the lamps on and off simultaneously with the wall switch. A farce. There were no central hanging lights in either areas. The room was dingy, dark and cold. I discovered that the central heating radiator, although set on thermostat 5, was not working. An electric rad had been placed next to it for compensation, I assumed. It was off. By this time I was very tired, I had travelled from Liverpool, and made my way to bed. I decided to leave any discussion with reception until morning. My booking confirmation had assured me I would be in a ‘Superior double room’. There was absolutely nothing superior about this unwelcoming, cold room. All furniture lacked any sense of taste or style. The entire space is in desperate need of a major overhaul including every piece of the furniture and a dreadful carpet. Decoratively it’s a hideous disaster. The big standard metal uplight sitting in the far corner of the room depresses the mood even further; incongruous and vile and bearing no resemblance to the aforementioned two bedside table lights obviously acquired from a cheap auction room. The electrical sockets in the well of the room are from a different age altogether and are worryingly ancient. No attempt had been made to make the bedroo
