Koh Samui Hotels with Private Pools

"The furniture in the villa was obviously old, and the cupboards didn't open well. The location of the rooms is not convenient. If someone goes to the toilet, then you can only go from the nursery to the kitchen through the pool area.The lighting was quite dim, and there was no desk chair. The pool is clean, towels were changed every day and bottled water was provided. The breakfast is good. You could order a shuttle bus to the beach or the store for free. P.S. The bags that we left on the bedside table and planned to use for some reason, the cleaners made garbage bags. I believe that cleaners have the right to throw out only what is inside the trash can."

"The hotel is quite far from any amenities, but it's very close to the road. Extremely close, in fact. If you're hoping for a peaceful night's sleep, never book a room facing the road. Otherwise, you'll be jolted awake by every sportbike or 'disco on wheels' all night long. That said, the hotel itself is nice. The rooms are spacious, and the bathroom is excellent! There's a pool, a mini-gym, a restaurant, and well-maintained grounds. The staff are good, no complaints there. Nearby, on the beach, there's a pleasant restaurant that's a bit cheaper and even more interesting. To swim in the sea, you'll need to walk about 300-500 meters. The breakfast isn't amazing, but you won't go hungry. There's a viewpoint nearby with views over all of Chaweng, but you have to walk along the highway to get there."

"The hotel is located not far from Central. Can walk It takes about 5-10 minutes. The hotel is clean with complete facilities. The view upstairs is beautiful. The disadvantage is that there is no elevator. And the swimming pool closes a bit early (closed 18.00)"

"Gorgeous views and a very green, well-maintained territory. Cleaning is excellent. Linens and towels are changed daily. The room is very clean. Breakfasts are fantastic. They prepare different types of eggs, pancakes, and offer cheese, cured sausage, vegetables, greens, ready-made dishes, and lots of fruit. The coffee is bad, but that's the only downside of the breakfasts. It's great to sunbathe by the pool; there are comfortable sun loungers, and you can order drinks and food. The music is pleasant and not too loud. The pool water temperature and showers are nice. Massages are slightly more expensive than elsewhere, literally by only 200 baht. CONS. 1. You can't take more than 1 towel at the pool. This is absolute nonsense. One towel isn't enough to cover the whole sun lounger, and it's impossible to touch the scorching hot faux leather. Just buy more towels; you're washing them anyway. What's the problem with one more or two? I really don't see the issue! 2. Internet. It didn't work at all in our room. There are apps and YouTube on the TV, but you can't watch movies because there's no internet, even though they give you the Wi-Fi password. It only works in the restaurant and by the pool. 3. The staff is excellent, EXCEPT for the older man with glasses by the pool (photo attached). He constantly has a sour face as if everyone owes him something. Disgusting. Unfriendly. Customer service is ZERO. He needs to be retired with that attitude! 4. The sea. It's non-existent. It's a quarry. Take a 3-minute ride to Chaweng, that's where the beach is. White, fine sand, turquoise water. Here, it's yellow, coarse sand, all rocks; you can't swim without a mask. Even getting in is difficult. So, if you love swimming in beautiful water, this isn't the place. And if you use a mask, which they provide for free here, it's not Zanzibar or the Maldives; it's not that beautiful, and there's not much to see. 5. Flies in the restaurant! This is absolutely horrific. There are 5-8 of them flying over your plates. And don't tell me it can't be dealt with. I refuse to believe that a guest in a 5-star hotel should sit swatting flies. Put some small repellents on the tables. They cost pennies, but they solve the problem. 6. The air conditioning in the room roars like a plane taking off. It's impossible to adjust it properly. It has no quiet mode. Replace this old thing with new ones; it's not that expensive either. 7. Near the building where our room 406 was, there's a smoking area for staff. We have to walk past this spot every day, and it's dirty, with trash everywhere, as if it's not hotel property but a backyard in a village. 8. Water temperature fluctuations in the shower. There are only two options: scalding hot or freezing cold. It's impossible to get a medium temperature."

"I stayed here for 3 days and 2 nights and received excellent service. All the staff were lovely, polite, and humble. The accommodation itself was a Superior Room with a soft, comfortable bed. The exterior was even more stunning; the sea on this side is beautiful, especially at low tide when you can see a pristine white sandbar stretching as far as the eye can see, surrounded by mountains, and you can watch the sunset from there. Plus, the breakfast had a wide variety of delicious options!😋 As for the resort's location, it's very close if you're coming from the airport, about 10 minutes. However, it's a bit further if you're coming from the pier. There are restaurants nearby, so it doesn't feel isolated, but the hotel itself is located down an alley and requires a slight uphill walk. There's plenty of parking for motorbikes, and probably space for about 4-5 cars. The resort interior is very peaceful and quiet. Highly recommend it! 👍"

"As a solo female traveller I felt very safe here. It’s out the way nothing around but good and drink on premises and other resorts close buy to visit. Outside shower was a great addition and really makes you feel like you’re in a jungle !"

"The resort has a beautiful vibe and the views are stunning. It looks like it’s in need of some good cleaning and maintenance, apparently it’s an older resort that got taken over by a new company last year, so maybe they need some more time. Pros: - beautiful views - good breakfast, almond milk available for drinks at breakfast and you can even order matcha! Excellent service. Vegan options in terms of food are present but limited. - staff is very friendly Cons: - Room smelled humid/moldy. The bed felt damp. - when I asked the receptionist for a dehumidifier or if there was something to do about it I got looked at weird and just got air freshener offered, which is past the point. - Room didn’t look clean (see photos) - mold and chipped off paint everywhere in the room - no gym or fitness area, yoga classes for 300thb an hour instead Keep in mind that there are lots of stairs without railings, so not ideal for children or elderly people."

"We stayed 9 nights in this excellent picture perfect beachfront paradise!! Our bright and airy cottage was right next to the sparkling clean pool and overlooking the beach. Our room was was spotlessly clean, with a huge comfy bed with new clean sheets, a large bathroom with good hot water. Lovely to sit out on our deck overlooking the pool and ocean. Breakfast was served overlooking the beach and was awesome!! The buffet, included Thai food such as sweet and sour pork, chicken and cashews, noodles, fried rice- they changed everyday. Everyday there was also an egg station, bacon, sausages, salad, fresh fruit , croissants, juices and a coffee machine. The restaurant is open all day and the staff set up tables on the beach for dinner - delicious food. All the staff are friendly and welcoming!! Perfect quiet location on Lamai beach - walk 2 or 3 minutes along the sand to the walking bridge and you are at the Night Market and busy Lamai town. There is also a 7 11 right next door. Tesco down the road and a Makro another few kms further. Highly recommend… we are staying again next year"

"We really enjoyed our stay at White sands. It seemed really good value for money. We stayed 11 nights with our family. We had three basic rooms. The rooms were really spacious and even had a glimpse of the sea from the balcony with a nice green view. We enjoyed the beach, though a couple of days the waves were too big to enter, but overall this part of the beach is not crowded and great for swimming, as it’s not too shallow, like Choengmon, which is more suitable for little kids and a little more crowded. The pool was also great with kids and for wavy days. Walking distance there is a neat view point and grandma-grandpa rocks, which are an attraction here. The restaurant service was sometimes extremely slow, however once in a while it’s nice to have the option of eating decently and not having to go anywhere far. Some things in the hotel might need a touch of maintenance, like the ACs - they’re a little old and noisy and blow strong right on the beds. We didn’t opt for the breakfast, bought once or twice on the spot, to keep our options open as there are pretty nice places around with bagels, pancakes or omelettes. The road, as mentioned in some previous comments didn’t bother us at all. It takes a couple minutes to walk to the main road with 7-eleven, fruit spot with amazing papaya and mango, pharmacies. Limaya Garden cafe is a little hidden gem of a cafe on the way to view point. Overall, the hotel was great for a relaxing vacation, seems like it has a lot of potential, hope it thrives!"

"I’m laying on a sunbed (in the shade as I write this). We read the reviews before we arrived, So here’s the latest.. Pick a room that’s right for you… As with a lot of hotels they are just off or on the main road, if you’re after tranquility you need to pick a sea view room. If you’re used to living next to a busy road (cars & moped) as we were, then the mountain side view rooms were fine for us. Family Room was large, with plenty enough space. Room was great, although if I was to be very picky, shower door and carpet could be improved, everything else in room was great. Just so you know, cars & mopeds are always going past throughout the day and night. Beach is shallow water with rough sand and small rocks beneath the water. It is a lovely spot, although you’d need to head right for a stroll before you find a less rocky beach to practically swim in. Location: head to Crystal Bay (15 min walk) or head the other direction (15 min walk). Close by is a public outdoor gym, basically in the sea. Obviously equipment is basic but you can always go to an air conditioned gym near by. Hotel service and employee are great, pool & beach towels & sunbeds provided . Breakfast is high quality geared towards healthier eating. Various yoga classes going on, which seem popular but not something we do. The usual Thai street food ,  Restaurants and 7-11 stores within walking distance."
