"Our stay was beautiful, I will not deny that. However it was not without a few letdowns. I am a woman who is all about a pool and was so excited to swim in the absolutely gorgeous pool I saw in all the photos online. I visited the week of Jan 1- Jan 7th and the weather was quite warm about 75 degrees every day. HOWEVER, the pool was absolutely FREEZING to the point where I was shivering being in it. Felt like an ICE BATH :( It was not enjoyable and with this being a secluded/ all inclusive hotel there weren't very much other forms of entertainment during the day except for the pool and the beach (the water was warm at the beach). It was so disappointing. I called the front desk to ask if anything could be done but they stated was no pool heater/temperature adjuster. We paid about 4 grand total for this trip and to be completely honest were only able to enjoy the pool once. My next complaint comes to the beach. We went to the beach which gets pretty bus. There was a day where every single chair was full and two of the hotel cabanas were being taken over by random street vendors - taking away two spots for the guests from the 100% packed beach area. These guys were NOT a part of the hotel and are the vendors who go around trying to sell cigars, etc. I watched the staff pass by them multiple times and say nothing while ACTUAL GUESTS had nowhere to lounge by the beach. That was very disappointing as these guys were laughing loudly, staring at guests, and did not move as people walked by looking for chairs. Other than that I will admit that the food was great, the staff was super nice, the hotel grounds were IMPECCABLE, the rooms were nice, everything else was quite lovely. But for the reasons listed I will not be staying at this all inclusive again, although you can still make the most of it and have a lovely experience overall. I'd recommend a stay if you're not going for the main reason of enjoying the pool and the beach."

"The room feels a bit old, the hotel is very big (it feels a bit too big) the restaurant is generally the same, and the lobster and the like have to add extra money. Overall, this price is OK."

"Great hotel, beyond expectations, the entire hotel is a tropical small forest park, very beautiful. The butler service is invincible, but the restaurant service is average. The hotel has its own private access to the X'Caret Park next door (there is a private artificial canal in the lobby, which is accessible by boat). It is very convenient to play half a return to the seaside restaurant for a free meal and then enter the park. Food is ok (all inclusive hotels are not too high expectations). The hotel is very large, so there are golf shuttle buses to various points. There are all kinds of wild animals in the garden. The monkeys climbed directly to the balcony of our room and got close contact with them. Of course, they also saw other snakes, deer, lizards and so on. The rooms are fully equipped and the beds are very comfortable. The main course of the squid in the Chinese restaurant is delicious, and it is ordered. The beach is a bit poor, but it doesn't affect the overall experience, because there are too many interesting points, and the courtyard itself has a mini Mayan ruins."

"Location is good. It is close to 5th avenue and beach. I loved the resort and nature. It was lovely and cozy. But there were ants in bathroom and straw fell down because of palapa. There's no refrigerator in the room. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner. All of staffs are kind and friendly. Espacially Rogelio was really kind and pleasant. "

"The hotel was incredible and very stylish. The room was absolutely amazing. The ammenities, the services were exceptional. Also the food and drinks were really high level. The staff was very professional. We really enjoyed our honeymoon there. The staff did the best to make it special and unforgettable. The only negative was the huge amount of sargassum at Maroma Beach. The hotel cleaned its beach side every morning and they did a really good job, however the neighbour hotel, Catalonia did not. I felt very sorry for their guests who had to smell all day long the rotten sargassum. "

"This is the best value in Playa Del Carmen. The best bang for the buck especially if you’re booking on this app. Good food. Steak restaurant is great too. Everything is clean and modern although not the newest hotel. This is our go to hotel. Only complaint is they stopped including the premium tequila (Don Julio) in the all inclusive"

"Stayed 3 nights. It is about 10-15 minutes by taxi from the city center. The reasonable price as of May 2019 is 200Bs. When you visit, 300Bs was taken, so please be careful if you have a suitcase. There are not so many restaurants, but the food offered seems to change daily. Dinner can be enjoyed at restaurants that require a bit formal reservation, buffet style restaurants, and teppanyaki restaurants that are limited to the day of the week. There was also a restaurant where you can eat snacks. We did not use room service, but it seemed to be so. All the dishes we ate in the hotel were delicious. During the GW period I visited, a large amount of algae was generated and I could not enter the sea, but the sand was white and very beautiful. I think there are two large pools, a children's pool, and a bath-like pool. Many of the staff are friendly and I think I was able to speak almost in English. The staff of the lobby travel agent was not that kind. Because there was bath in room and view was good, we were able to spend comfortably. It is hotel where we want to stay at again."

"Standout was the unique rooms which are extremely private, spacious and beautifully designed along the lagoon. Personally I didn’t quite understand the ‘Butler’ concept and found some of the comms style a bit frustrating. The other standout was the ‘Day of the dead’ celebrations. The property was decorated beautifully and very well organised. The opportunity to also participate was great as we felt emerged in the festivities. It would have been nice if the dinner package also included the face painting. More broadly the property is set within mayakoba so you can explore the grounds including the other hotels and it was fun to explore on the bikes. The only other thing to be aware off is also this is the more premium / exclusive hotel in mayakoba it’s still geared towards families or at least there where quite a few kids around. Finally don’t have high expectations of the beach it’s tiny and there isn’t much space. If you want high end luxury visit Maroma."
