Hotels in Xujiahui District, Shanghai

This is our second time staying at the Courtyard by Marriott Tibet Hotel for my child's college entrance exam. It's perfectly located right next to Xuhui Middle School, the examination site, and we also stayed here for the spring exam earlier this year. The hotel is incredibly thoughtful: they had 'Zhuangyuan' (top scholar) door couplets, 'dingsheng gao' (a traditional pastry symbolizing success), and oranges... so much attention to detail and a real sense of occasion. My child got into an early admission program for college, so the Courtyard by Marriott Tibet Hotel truly is a lucky place! 👍👍

The hotel's location is great, making it easy to get around, and the basic hygiene in the rooms is up to standard. The only downsides are the poor soundproofing – we could hear our neighbors quite clearly – and the limited breakfast selection. Overall, it's a decent place with reasonable value for money. The experience would be even better if these minor issues were improved.

This hotel's location is excellent. Right across the sky bridge is Xujiahui Park, and there are many dining options on Wanping South Road. It seems to be an annex of East Money, imbued with a sense of prosperity. The room decor is natural and cozy, and it's kept very clean. The zero-pressure mattress is incredibly comfortable, which is a major highlight of this hotel. The laundry room on B2 is a fantastic amenity for a business hotel!

I genuinely recommend this hotel! 🌿 Its location is incredibly convenient for Shanghai Stadium, very close by. The common areas are well-maintained, clean, and beautiful, and all the in-room facilities are in great condition. The hygiene is impeccable. Our butler, Lily, was kind, polite, and handled our requests efficiently. There's a bus stop and subway station right outside, making transportation super easy. We had a pleasant stay throughout.

I specifically chose Jinglai Hotel when I came to Xujiahui for shopping. The location is truly impeccable. It's just a few minutes' walk to Xujiahui Metro Station, making transfers to Lines 1, 9, and 11 very convenient. Right outside, you have Metro City and Huijin Department Store, so dining and shopping are a breeze. The room was meticulously cleaned with no strange odors. The delivery robot bringing takeout right to the door was incredibly convenient. The soundproofing in this bustling area exceeded my expectations, and I had a very peaceful night's rest. It's also very close for commutes to Hengshan Road and Wukang Road. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Xuhui.

Just the other day I was saying I wanted to stay here longer to get a better feel for the place, and wouldn't you know it, the opportunity arose, haha. Something came up at work, and since I'd stayed here before, found it decent, and it's close to my office, I figured it was the safest bet. This time I stayed for four nights. They have a VIP building and a regular building; the VIP one is right next door. I even went to the VIP building once because the delivery driver got my order wrong. Because the hotel is in the central Hengfu area and it was summer vacation, there were many domestic and international tourists. However, the front desk ladies were very quick with check-ins, so there wasn't a long queue at the counter. Right next to the front desk is Shanghai Dim Sum, where you can have lunch. I saw that they offer many old Shanghai specialty snacks, and lots of locals come to eat there; business is booming! I'd recommend it to friends visiting Shanghai. The front desk mentioned that breakfast is on the fourth floor, but since my package didn't include breakfast this time, I didn't try it. I'll make sure to next time. Even though the room type I got this time was the same special king room as last time, I think it's a great room. The wardrobe, when closed, can be used to store shoes, or bags and coats, essentially creating a partition from the living area. I personally think this is more hygienic (see the last picture for details). I saw the bellhop working hard every day in the scorching heat, opening and closing car doors for guests, helping with luggage, and directing delivery drivers to put food in the lockers. He's really dedicated. As for downsides, when I asked one of the front desk staff about afternoon tea, he looked completely clueless and didn't know anything about it. Also, it would be good to have another air conditioning vent in the room, perhaps near the TV. I'm not particularly bothered by heat, so sitting at the desk didn't feel hot to me. But if a guest is sensitive to heat, they might find it unbearable, especially on hot days like these. Otherwise, there weren't any major issues. I visited the gazebo last time but didn't this time. I'll definitely stay here again if I get the chance.

I love this hotel. The people who work there are so lovely towards me. I’ve pretty much been staying here for over a month now, every time I’m back in Shanghai. Being at the hotel has also been an incredible opportunity for me in terms of improving my mandarin. The location is also very convenient in terms of access to food, convenience, and attractions in Shanghai. I’m about to head back here for another stay, so I couldn’t recommend it more (:

The front desk service from Ms. Huang was incredibly patient and friendly. She thoroughly explained the hotel's facilities, services, and the surrounding area, which left a great first impression. This is a more established hotel, and Shanghai dialect is commonly spoken, making communication easy. During my stay, it was film festival season, and many reporters and guests were staying here. The lobby and elevator halls were quite crowded daily. Dining in the first-floor restaurant felt like being an entertainment reporter, constantly witnessing photo ops and gossip. The room was on the smaller side, and the decor and public facilities certainly felt a bit dated, but it was clean and housekeeping was prompt. There was a good selection of pillows. The gym and pool on the 3rd floor, while compact, were well-equipped with everything you need: a power rack, dumbbells, a barbell, yoga mats, foam rollers, treadmills, ellipticals, and a rowing machine – more than sufficient. The restaurant food was just average with limited choices. Breakfast was served until 11 AM on weekends. With afternoon tea, happy hour, and executive lounge benefits, you can essentially cover three meals, offering excellent value for money.

Booked two rooms and got upgraded to a suite. The hotel's location is excellent, very close to Wukang Building. The Tai Ping Road neighborhood is very quiet, and the梧桐 trees lining the streets make for pleasant walks. The one-bedroom, one-living room suite layout is perfect for families with children. The bathroom has two sinks, and the living room features a large sofa. The hotel also provides a laundry room, which is a great convenience for summer travel. After arriving near Wangfujing in Beijing and checking into a hotel there, I realized just how much better the interior of the Tai Ping Hotel truly is.

I've stayed here several times, and overall it's pretty good. This time, I want to talk about some specific details: 1. **Smart Home System**: While the overall control is good, some details are a bit 'awkward.' For example, the lighting only has mode control; you can't control individual lights, which can be inconvenient sometimes. 2. **Natural Lighting**: Due to the floor level, the room's natural light is a bit insufficient. Combined with the dark interior decor, the room feels a bit dim and gloomy. 3. **Central Air Conditioning**: The central AC only has single-mode heating or cooling. On days with fluctuating temperatures like recently, the room can feel quite cold, requiring two duvets. 4. **Apartment Style Service**: Although the front desk responds quickly, the floor service staff are understaffed, including the robots, leading to them being overwhelmed at times.
