Excellent
GGuest UserThe hotel is new and very clean, and the room was incredibly spacious – just so comfortable! The public facilities are also excellent; I'd definitely want to stay here again next time. The lobby and rooms also smelled lovely, which made a great first impression. It's a shame I didn't get to try the breakfast. One minor inconvenience is that the hotel is a bit of a walk from the subway, nearly 15 minutes, which can be tiring. In the end, I resorted to cycling back and forth. If that's a concern for you, it's something to consider, but otherwise, everything else was fantastic! The service was also spot on.

AAnonymous UserThe lady front desk manager is very helpful and kind.
Location wise is 15 min walk to metro, not very quiet always hear sirens or honking.
Cigarette smoke frequently smelt in room as room ac does not work heating is central and room felt stuffy at times. Front desk kindly provided a fan that helped. Dishes were not cleaned properly. Overall good but can be improved. The entrance is also behind novatel and taxi will not always pick up from correct entrance even if you put ‘ Citadines gubei’

GGuest UserThis Bund hotel stay was absolutely amazing! It's just a 5-minute walk to the riverside, and my room had floor-to-ceiling windows with a perfect view of the Lujiazui 'Three-Piece Suit' – I could watch the Oriental Pearl Tower light up at night right from my bed. The smart toilet and automatic curtains were super convenient, and soaking in the bathtub while enjoying the river view was just heavenly! The freshly baked croissants at breakfast were so good they were practically addictive. The rooftop bar had incredible night views, and the cocktails created a fantastic ambiance. The front desk even proactively upgraded my room and sent welcome fruits, and the robot delivering food was adorable. The soundproofing was excellent; I slept like a baby until I woke up naturally. Plus, free laundry and drying service was such a thoughtful touch! The location is unbeatable – Yu Garden and Nanjing Road are within walking distance, and the subway station is right outside. For around 400+ RMB per person, it felt like a thousand-yuan experience. As a detail-oriented person, I was completely won over. I'm definitely booking this place again on my next trip to Shanghai!

AAnonymous UserI want to give honest feedback here. The room I selected on the Trip.com app did not match what was available at the hotel when we checked in, which caused a frustrating mix-up at arrival. This is a clear issue with the app and booking system that needs to be addressed — what you see when booking should be what you get.
However, I have to give full credit to the hotel staff and manager. They handled the situation with patience and professionalism, and worked hard to support us even though the problem started on the app's side. Their service was outstanding.
The hotel itself is great — comfortable rooms, clean facilities, friendly team, and a wonderful location.

DDingyuanyingI've stayed in many hotels for business trips and vacations, and most of them deserve five-star ratings, especially Mercure. This time, I came to Mercure Hongqiao Central with five-star expectations. Although there were fruit flies in the room and the shower drain smelled, I dealt with them myself and it didn't really affect my mood. That is, until I found out one of the elevators was broken. Waiting for the elevator felt like the morning rush hour in an office building during the week, and I even had to contend with the food delivery robots for space (the elevator still wasn't fixed after two days). Plus, I can't think of any high-rise hotel that only has two elevators. Additionally, I don't know if it's because my Ctrip membership level isn't high enough, but my request for a late checkout at 4 PM was told it would be charged. When I was a Huazhu Platinum member, it was never charged (in fact, there are only a few times a year I need to extend to 4 PM). They said I needed to re-activate my room card at the front desk after 12 PM, but after I had it swiped at the front desk, (and waited for the elevator for a long time) I still couldn't open the room door upstairs... My good impression was slowly worn away. Overall, this experience barely deserves three stars (I wouldn't have even remembered it if the hotel hadn't called afterward asking for a good review).
Objectively, the view from the west-facing room was quite good. The golf course diagonally opposite was unobstructed, and there were no tall buildings opposite, so I wasn't afraid to leave the curtains open at night. I could also see planes taking off and landing at Hongqiao Airport. The location was also decent, with many dining options nearby, though it's quite far from the subway station.

AAroundtheworldJuThe hotel is close to the subway and has a Lawson right outside, so it's convenient.
I just didn't like the room I was put on, because it smelled a bit like cigarettes and I had asked for a smoke free room, because I'm allergic.
And also, I had asked for quiet rooms and higher floor. I was placed on ground floor in the first room of the corridor, where everyone has to pass by.
Other than that, it was great, the staff is very helpful

GGuest UserThe location is fantastic! It's just a three-minute walk to the Bund and five minutes to Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street, making getting around super convenient. The room was clean and tidy, the bed was very comfortable, and the soundproofing was good. The staff provided warm and thoughtful service, and the Atour signature late-night kitchen was a lifesaver when hunger struck in the evening. Overall, it was a reassuring and comfortable stay.

AAnonymous UserThe hotel has a minimalist Japanese style, with a clean and atmospheric environment. The staff are very friendly, warm, and thoughtful. They offer a complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport on the hour, which is super convenient for catching flights – a big plus!
However, staying for four consecutive days, the breakfast selection was incredibly monotonous and never changed. It got really boring after a while. The late-night snack options were also very limited, with only noodles and congee available – far too few choices.
Furthermore, during my stay, I noticed that the indoor air felt stuffy and poorly ventilated, always with a stale odor. My room was close to the road, so opening the window meant car noise, but closing it made the room stuffy and smelly, which significantly reduced my comfort.
On a positive note, they thoughtfully gave me a small souvenir when I checked out, which was a lovely touch. Overall, the service and airport shuttle were good, but the stay would be much better if they could improve the breakfast variety, add more late-night snack options, enhance room ventilation and soundproofing, and eliminate the stale indoor smell.

ἈἈστραῖοςLocated in the heart of Shanghai's historic Juxingchang area, the former guesthouse of Air Force Unit 4 holds an unmissable and pivotal position in modern Chinese history. To be honest, I was initially hesitant; I had originally booked the Yan'an Hotel, but was persuaded by the travel agency to switch to this place. On the eve of the 24th anniversary of '913' (September 13th), I was in the attic room here, rushing to meet my school deadlines. On the evening of September 13th, Shanghai was hit by a heavy downpour. My family and I were having dinner at the adjacent Xi Family Garden. We borrowed two umbrellas from Manager Zhang at the front desk, one of his own and one from a colleague. I'm truly grateful for this trust, and also want to thank Manager Zhang for his thoughtful service over the past two days.

GGuest UserI keep coming back to this hotel, not only because of its location. It is conveniently situated near Metro Line 1, as well as restaurants and convenience stores. But what truly makes this hotel special are the people who work there.
In particular, I would like to thank Ms. Li Jing. She was always available, answered all my questions, and was incredibly helpful. You could really see and feel how much effort the staff put in to make sure guests are satisfied.
I was very happy with my stay and would like to sincerely thank her and the entire hotel staff. Hopefully, I will be back again soon.
