The Cally Hotel

"We had just finished our long drive to Warnambool and we were after a nice dinner, so we stopped at the Cally Hotel. Our first impressions were hopeful as the menu was wide and the atmosphere was brilliant. Then we went to order and were told that “we hadn’t ordered enough for six people”. We then thought that the portions were small, so we ordered some more, it came out at $55 each (including alcohol). Then the food came out and we got huge portions, then we realised it wad quantity over quality. The pork ribs were burned on the outside and very fatty in the middle. The taste plate encountered varying degrees of success. The fish and seafood was not very good and quite undercooked. The chicken and lettuce was wonderful with a great sauce, the burger was very plain and didn’t have much flavour and overall it was quite average."

"We stayed at the Botanic Racecourse. The apartment is very well-treated, clean and comfortable. The staff were very kind both in check-in and in check-out, and advised us where to visit really nice places. Absolutely positive experience and warmly recommended structure."

Warrnambool Holiday Village

"I am absolutely disgusted that the holiday Park chose to keep my $750 deposit when we couldn’t attend. We used to *********** to book our accommodation with the village and for some reason only one of our children registered on the booking so when I rang up questioning this prior to our arrival they told me I had to pay an extra $300 on top of the extra $800 I was already required to pay on arrival so it was a $300 unexpected fee added to our already $1800 bill for only five nights. we explained that we did not have the money and asked politely if they could return our deposit so we could get another hotel room as we didn’t have anywhere to stay at the Warrnambool holiday village refused lecturing me saying I should’ve read the guidelines and I explain to him that I did put my three children down and for some reason only one registered and it had a random age that doesn’t even match my children’s ages so bottom line is they stole our deposit and we were left homeless and freezing on a holiday that was supposed to be fun we ended up staying with a person that let us live in the lounge room for five nights I am absolutely fuming mad and I’m so upset that my kids had to endure that"
