"The hotel location is well, we like the view from our room window. We can see the sunset from the room. The staff are politely, only hotel restaurant area may not fit enough table as we wanted to having dinner but the staff told us we had to book, and then ask us go to bar and lodge area to have our dinner, this was quite not happy experience."
"The room was very comfortable, and the host was super nice! Not only did they recommend delicious food and coffee, but they also provided us with all sorts of cooking utensils and seasonings! Most importantly, the aurora guide they introduced us to was excellent! And on the very night we arrived, we actually saw the aurora right from the hostel! Aurora Hostel truly lives up to its name!"
"Jenny, the owner, is incredibly friendly and kind. She greeted me with a warm smile and provided a wealth of information about Yellowknife. This guesthouse seems to be a familiar and well-known spot among taxi drivers and aurora tour operators alike. Museums, the visitor center, supermarkets, cafes, and restaurants are all within easy walking distance. I had the best trip to Yellowknife. Thank you so much, Jenny!"
"An excellent hotel that far exceeded our expectations. The room was spacious and well-equipped, and the kitchen had a full set of utensils, even dishcloths and detergent. Towels and other amenities were also very clean. The airport shuttle service was great too; on the day we left, the hotel's car was requisitioned by the government, and they even gave us free taxi vouchers."
"This is a decent hotel option for an aurora viewing trip. The location is very close to the airport. If you arrive in Toronto late at night, a taxi can come directly to your hotel; with a tip, it will cost less than 20 Canadian dollars. There's a Tim Coffee and Starbucks nearby, as well as an Independent supermarket and Walmart, making it convenient. However, the hotel environment is just average, about the level of a Motel 168. The staff are very friendly. Breakfast is very basic, just bread and eggs. It's okay for a short trip of one or two nights."
"The building seems a bit old, as I could sometimes hear footsteps from the floor above. Also, I'm not sure what the heating system is, but there were occasional strange noises coming from inside the walls. Neither of these was disruptive enough to prevent me from sleeping.
The bathwater was lukewarm at certain times of the day.
The location, however, is excellent. It was convenient not only for downtown but also for driving to the ice road."
"It's a business hotel in a good location.
The gym is located in the shopping mall on the first floor. You either have to ask the front desk to open it for you, or get a pass to access it. It's small, though.
You can enjoy beer from a nearby brewery at the restaurant on the first floor."
