The force of the blast created a funnel shaped crater, which was later filled by a lake and island.On a walk you could well see possums, echidnas, cape barren geese and wedge-tailed eagles (Australia's largest bird of prey). Keen twitchers might also spot chestnut teal, musk duck and spoonbills from the boardwalks and bird hide.
