After we encountered a bad experience with a desert glamping resort in Dunhuang, we were a bit cautious with Dune when we booked it. However, after I communicated with the manager in Dune via WeChat, I was more confident as he was very polite and helpful. He helped us to booked a transfer from Turpan Airport to Dune resort. As our flight arrived Turpan in the evening, it was late when we arrived at Dune. The manager and another staff came to the entrance of the driveway to welcome us and helped us with our luggage. They took us straight to our tent, and they upgraded us to a bigger tent, too.
We woke up to this beautiful Kumtag Desert Sand dunes, right in front of our tent! It was so beautiful. As the off peak season started, we were the only guests there but the staff were serving us with delicious breakfast and dinner. The food was delicious and plentiful! The manager and staff were very attentive to our requests. One of the staff has helped us to arrange a local guide/driver to take us to the Kumtag desert for an exciting ATV ride and sand sliding. We had a great time. We ended up hiring the same guide, a pleasant and calm Uygur young guy to take us for some sightseeing and dropped us back to Turpan.
I would say to anyone who is looking for a real desert glamping, please come to Dune in Shahshan near Turpan instead of Dunhuang.

The ambiance is wonderful. From the moment I enter the courtyard, it feels like I'm back in my grandparents' childhood home. The hotel's decor is very local.
The service was excellent, and most requests were quickly addressed.
I was worried the pictures might differ from the actual experience, but there wasn't at all! It was a truly wonderful stay.

The hotel's own vineyard, offering free fruit picking, is probably its biggest draw. The service was okay, both the girls and the guys were pleasant. Cleanliness was OK. However, the amenities weren't great. I was unlucky to choose a family room on the third floor, but the air conditioning wasn't cooling, and the shower pressure wasn't strong enough, making it a real problem for summer travelers. I've read reviews of the breakfast being generous, but that's an exaggeration. The watermelon didn't even feel fresh (this was in Xinjiang in the summer, which is when fruit is plentiful). Also, the coffee was expensive, at 24 yuan for an iced Americano (though I'm not sure about prices at other coffee shops in Turpan).

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Turpan. The hotel was modern, clean, and very comfortable after long days of traveling around Xinjiang. The rooms were spacious, well maintained, and equipped with everything we needed. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always willing to assist despite language barriers. The location was convenient for exploring the city and nearby attractions. We especially appreciated the peaceful atmosphere and excellent service throughout our stay. The breakfast was fresh and enjoyable, making our mornings even better. Overall, it was a relaxing and memorable experience, and we would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Turpan

Guest UserI am confused how they got so many good reviews after staying here. First, they said offer they tickets to get into Grape Valley and it ended up no tickets are needed. Second, we went out for dinner, restaurants on the right side of the hotel, as the hotel suggested, are 3X more expensive than the normal price. Third, a worker at our hotel offered to drive us to a restaurant but we declined. Later, we found out that he was trying to take us to an overpriced restaurant with no customers. I guess he was looking for a commission from that restaurant. Fourth, we asked one lady in the touristy area, how far is the night market and she said 25 km, we checked on line it was only 7 km away. Even though the room itself was fine, I would advise against staying here or in Grape Valley altogether. Although a visit here for 1 or 2 hours is fine.

This B&B is one of the few that I couldn't cancel but still ordered. It was as good as expected, and the wooden house is very distinctive. The room is large and comfortable to live in. It is surrounded by the grape town where locals live. It is very convenient and cheap to eat and buy fruits. We also went to the nearby to buy camel milk and stored it in the refrigerator of the B&B. There is also a very docile big dog in the yard. I had a great time staying for three days!

Guest UserSimply great place! Excellent value for money, the place is full of beautiful vineyards of grapes, the place looks like in a fairy tale. There is a shuttle that comes quickly and efficiently. The room in the shape of a wine barrel is great and clean, the staff is very nice and efficient, they helped us quite a bit. The breakfast is great and varied and there are also vegetarian options. There is a possibility of free laundry, and the reception is really available 24/7. The winery tour was beautiful and the long canal is very impressive. The shuttle from the train to the hotel and from the hotel to the train worked great. To improve - the pool was dirty throughout our stay, other than that it is just an amazing place! We will be back again in the future

We stayed one night at this homestay. It is very clean and modern. There is a very pretty tourist area nearby and a river. The noise level on the night we stayed was quite high for a few hours. It was from nearby hotels I think as there are many with bars. Our kids easily slept through the music and singing, but we adults did not. The noise stops by midnight though. Thos was a recurrent theme in a few places we stayed though in Xinjiang. Summer time os party time fpr many tourists without families. All in all it is a great, clean place to stay with exceptional service.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 A homestay experience beyond expectations! I want to recommend this beauty to everyone!
The most surprising thing about this trip was choosing this B&B! From check-in to check-out, it makes people feel warm, and every detail is full of care~
🏡【Perfect environment and atmosphere】I was amazed the moment I opened the gate! The ethnic-style wrought iron bed paired with an exotic patterned carpet makes you feel like you are living in a Uyghur-style painting. I love the warm-colored gauze curtains on the second-floor terrace. When the breeze blows on a summer night, I sit around the wrought iron tables and chairs with a few good friends, drinking tea and chatting, and looking up to see the starry sky. It is so comfortable! What’s even more surprising is that the exterior walls are hand-painted with scenes from Hayao Miyazaki’s animations, so the photos taken during the day have a fairy-tale filter!
🛏️【Super comfortable living experience】The room is spotlessly clean and the bedding smells like sunshine. I particularly like the retro iron kang design, which has both ethnic characteristics and is surprisingly comfortable to sleep on! The courtyard also thoughtfully prepared camping tables and chairs. Eating breakfast in the courtyard in the morning is very ceremonial.
💞【Service is as warm as family】The owner is really a treasure girl! Not only did they prepare mosquito repellent and emergency supplies in advance, but when they heard that we didn't make a travel guide, they also helped us plan a super efficient tour route based on time (I personally tested it and it saved us time and avoided spoilers!). Every day when I return ”home”, I can see her warm smiling face, just like an old friend.
✨This is not only a travel station, but also more like an ideal life. Want ethnic customs and literary romance to coexist? This is the right place! I have already recommended it to all my friends, and I look forward to seeing you next time~

DudushigetanchimaoThere is a parking lot on the roadside and at the door. Please check if you park your car in this season. Don't park under the mulberry tree, otherwise you will have a car full of black mulberries in the morning, which are sticky and can't be washed clean.
The small yard is clean and tidy. Breakfast is included, but it is a little simple, but why would you want a bicycle at this price!
Opposite is the Kavazi Scenic Area, which is a large vineyard.
It's nice to walk along the river after dinner!
