GGT17The hotel is located in the suburbs, with a golf course and tennis courts. We like tennis, so we played on the tennis courts, which was not expensive. However, the hotel facilities are relatively old, and I don't know if they retain the nostalgic style. In addition, the hotel is being expanded and there are constructions around it.

GGuest UserSplendid experience at the Gorge Deluxe Room. Very clean and spacious with a lovely view of the river and hills nearby.
Plenty of hiking routes available nearby which is ideal for those looking for a good walking experience.
For dog lovers, walking Archie (the silo dog) is also a great add-on! First time for us walking a dog at a 5-star hotel.

The room was clean, but the kitchen and toilet had a strong sewer smell, even though we didn't cook.

GGuest UserThe hotel is very clean, but it is not close to the high-speed bus station. The seaside port center is not recommended if it is public transportation. Because Launceston Podo and don't have a room on the first floor, it is a semi-underground. It is an upgraded deluxe room, but half of the intersection. Underground.
Recommended to take a taxi to Grand Canyon Park. Summer is very beautiful.

The staff were okay but not especially helpful or enthusiastic when it came to recommendations. The town is very quiet, with little weekend activity and hardly any tourists, making it feel like it’s asleep

Staff was friendly and helped us with everything during our stay at mowbray. Great location close to all food shops and restaurants. They even gave us 2 free drinks card twice. Really enjoyed my stay.

BBarrAs a solo traveller just spending one night in Launceston, The Star Hotel was the ideal choice. It is centrally located and street parking was easy to find and free between 17.30 and 09.00 next day. The room itself was compact but comfortable with an ensuite. The friendly, efficient female staff member was able to help with local advice and when I decided to have dinner later, the food and service were exceptional. Three see a couple of stair cases to negotiate but really no trouble. This place was a highlight of my travel in Tasmania.
